This lovingly restored property, which was originally stables dating back to 1700s, has been converted to provide a spacious, well furnished holiday home. The property is all on ground level and well equipped with 3 large double/ twin bedrooms (all en-suite), a huge sitting room and separate kitchen/ diner. Set on a 20 acre small holding with well maintained, landscaped gardens, Vinces Barn provides luxury accommodation for both families and couples to cater for your home away from home.

The spacious sitting room with feature wood burning stove provides an ideal environment to unwind after a long days sight seeing. For the long summer evenings the outside patio is an ideal spot for reliving the days adventures while watching the setting sun with a cool drink.

The property is well equipped to cater for groups up to 8 people dining in and the many local pubs and restaurants nearby provide ample opportunity for those wishing to dine out.

Dedham Vale provides a multitude of ways to explore the sights of the river Stour. Local attractions include the Alfred Munnings Museum and Flatford Bridge Cottage where you can view works of famous artists from this area.

Colchester is the oldest recorded town in English history. The many local museums and attractions (incl. the restored Castle) provide a great insight into the history of the town. The historic villages and towns in East Anglia such as Lavenham, Cambridge, Newmarket racecourse and Bury St Edmunds are all within driving distance.

Frinton and Clacton beaches, award winning Colchester Zoo, Beth Chatto Gardens and Jimmys Farm are all close by.

  • Standard rental for 7 nights for up to 6 people with change-over on Saturdays.
    Short term breaks (3-4 nights) available on request during low season and as late availability during high season.
    Rate includes standard (timed) heating during winter months (Sept-March).
    Surchage may apply for short stays, additional guests and non standard changeover.
    Check-in time: 3pm, Check-out time: 10 am.

    Booking terms and conditions:
    * 25% Holding deposit required to guarantee booking, with remaining balance payable 10 weeks prior to arrival
    * Bookings within 10 weeks prior to arrival require full payment on booking
    * Confirmation of booking via email from owners after receipt of holding deposit
    * Refundable £100 security deposit for breakages on arrival which will be refunded on departure
    * Payment methods accepted: Debit / Credit Card via Paypal (additional charge) or cheques and direct bank transfers all in GBP
  • Cancellation policy:
    * Cancellations up to 10 weeks prior to arrival receive full refund (-7.5% administration fee),
    * Cancellations up to 6-10 weeks prior to arrival receive 50% refund,
    * Cancellations up to 4-6 weeks prior to arrival receive 25% refund,
    * Cancellations less than 4 weeks prior to arrival no refund

  • All bedrooms are en suite, spacious and beautifully furnished with large windows (beds 2 & 3) / patio doors (bed 1) overlooking the well maintained gardens. All rooms have large wardrobes with hangers provided, bedside cabinets with lamps and a chest of drawers. All rooms have luxury cream carpets and hand made full height curtains. Good quality cream bed linen is provided and additional blankets are provided, unlikely to be required as this really is a very cosy property.

Vinces Barn is a very spacious property and furnished/ equipped to a very high standard. The property is all on one level, with 3 spacious bed rooms and en-suite bathrooms allowing ample space for both able and less able visitors. Double sofa-bed in the sitting room provides additional sleeping for up to 2 people. Huge central sitting room with wood burning stove makes an ideal hub for relaxing and entertaining after a days sightseeing. Large (modern) kitchen and dining room provide all the facilities needed to cater for large groups up to 8 people. Vinces Barn benefits from a large, enclosed, beautifully landscaped and mature garden, which is looked after by the owners. The large york stone paved patio with outdoor seating/ table makes an ideal setting for barbecues, 'Alfresco' dining and relaxing summer nights. In addition there are a small patio outside the main bedroom with stone bench and clematis enclosed garden swing. There is ample on site parking for 3 + cars.

3 generations (Jack is helping to write this!!)

We have all enjoyed our wonderful home and all that it has to offer- Plenty of showers, a good kitchen AND SKY for "IN THE NIGHT GARDEN" and plenty of room to crawl around or practice walking/ There are so many places still left to visit that we will have to come back again.

Four generations aged between 92 years and four months. Very comfortable accommodation and perfect location close to many lovely places to visit.
