This lovingly restored property, which was originally stables dating back to 1700s, has been converted to provide a spacious, well furnished holiday home. The property is all on ground level and well equipped with 3 large double/ twin bedrooms (all en-suite), a huge sitting room and separate kitchen/ diner. Set on a 20 acre small holding with well maintained, landscaped gardens, Vinces Barn provides luxury accommodation for both families and couples to cater for your home away from home.

The spacious sitting room with feature wood burning stove provides an ideal environment to unwind after a long days sight seeing. For the long summer evenings the outside patio is an ideal spot for reliving the days adventures while watching the setting sun with a cool drink.

The property is well equipped to cater for groups up to 8 people dining in and the many local pubs and restaurants nearby provide ample opportunity for those wishing to dine out.

Home Description: Additional Information: Welcome pack is provided with fresh eggs from our hens and an initial supply of fire wood is provided upon arrival.

The property is fully cleaned prior to arrival.

Amazing Family Summer !!

I have been meaning to write this review for months. Firstly i would to thank Mr & Mrs Creswell for their hospitality. We had a fantastic summer! My family and I spent 4 relaxing weeks at Vinces Barn during the summer 2013. Our group was made up of 3 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of space and a wonderful garden for the children to play in. The property was well maintained with a complete and equipped kitchen. We absolutely loved the spacious living area that opened out to the garden. We visited Dedham and many neighboring areas. Colchester town was only a 15 minute drive away. A great location for a family break, cant wait to stay again!!

Barn rental Christmas 2011

We stayed at the property over the 2011 Christmas period. It was pretty cold then and we had no control over the heat as it was in a locked cupboard only accessible by the owners. While we managed to negotiate some extra time that the heat was on, it wasn't quite enough so we felt cold.
There were at least 2 occasions that the owners entered the property without our permission during our stay. Once was on Christmas morning while we were opening gifts as a family - the owner just walked right on in without even knocking.
The place wasn't that clean - abundant cobwebs and mouse traps left in the kitchen cupboards.
If you can put up with all the above the property has a nice lay out for an extended family and could accommodate a large gathering for a meal. The intrusion on our privacy was too much for us though and we won't be going back.

The heating is indeed on a timer and can be adjusted on request to best suit the guests’ individual needs.
We regret your stay wasn’t as enjoyable as you were expecting; as you can tell from other feedback, the majority of our guests enjoy the experience of staying on our small holding and are more than happy to stay again.

Dedham Vale provides a multitude of ways to explore the sights of the river Stour. Local attractions include the Alfred Munnings Museum and Flatford Bridge Cottage where you can view works of famous artists from this area.

Colchester is the oldest recorded town in English history. The many local museums and attractions (incl. the restored Castle) provide a great insight into the history of the town. The historic villages and towns in East Anglia such as Lavenham, Cambridge, Newmarket racecourse and Bury St Edmunds are all within driving distance.

Vinces Barn is a very spacious property and furnished/ equipped to a very high standard. The property is all on one level, with 3 spacious bed rooms and en-suite bathrooms allowing ample space for both able and less able visitors. Double sofa-bed in the sitting room provides additional sleeping for up to 2 people. Huge central sitting room with wood burning stove makes an ideal hub for relaxing and entertaining after a days sightseeing. Large (modern) kitchen and dining room provide all the facilities needed to cater for large groups up to 8 people. Vinces Barn benefits from a large, enclosed, beautifully landscaped and mature garden, which is looked after by the owners. The large york stone paved patio with outdoor seating/ table makes an ideal setting for barbecues, 'Alfresco' dining and relaxing summer nights. In addition there are a small patio outside the main bedroom with stone bench and clematis enclosed garden swing. There is ample on site parking for 3 + cars.
