Updated in March 2010, bright, totally foreign to a quiet street study. Located in an area with cafes, restaurants, small shops of designers. Just steps from the most attractive places in Barcelona.
My wife and I stayed in Rosa's apartment for 5 days. The place was very clean, comfortable and well supplied. The location is perfect. Close to several "must see" attractions in Barcelona - i.e. the Picasso Museum. In addition there are restaurants, a little grocery store and my's wife favorite - the ice cream, store all within a city block. Rosa was very helpful and a great host. It was nice to get to know some of the neighbors and say "hola" when we saw them on the street. This is a great place at a great price.
I loved this property. The location couldn't be more ideal. Born is a lovely area, each street seems more charming than the last. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, and the flat is located directly across from a church that tourists flock to.
I stayed just a few weeks ago in a flat in El Ravel that was very similar to Rosa's flat, but I preferred this one so much more. I think it is the location, and all the light in the flat. The main room has two large doors that open onto tiny balconies. The flat has everything that you could possibly require. I liked having the second sleeping area. It was a nice place to read a book, while my partner was sleeping.
I found my home in Barcelona!
My husband and I rented Rosa's apartment for 3 nights and couldn't be more pleased with the apartment and the location of it. Right in the heart of where you want to stay while in Barcelona. Everything is within walking distance. The apartment was clean and very safe. I loved that right next door was a little convenience store in case we needed anything. So many great places to eat with in a few feet of the doors. I would 100% stay here again or any other apartment Rosa was renting, who is by the way very sweet and got back to us about everything we needed right away. If you want a great location and cute apartment while you spend time in Barcelona then book this place you wont regret it!
We stayed at Rosa's apartment for four nights.
The location was great. While close to everything, it was not as touristy as and livelier than Barri Gotic. When we came, Rosa's husband was waiting for us. He let us in, gave us the keys, and explained some basics. We emailed Rosa any of our questions/concerns, and promptly got her replies/explanations. The living room was big, with a partial wall separating our double bed from our son's single bed. The kitchen was adequately equipped; it had a washing machine, though there was no drier; you would have to use clothes lines on the upstairs terrace or the electrical radiator in the bathroom.
The bathroom was recently remodeled. The only issue which we had was that the water heater was not properly adjusted; it would turn on only when the hot water was turned on all the way. It took us a while to figure that out. Most likely by now the issue is fixed.
The apartment was located on the third floor (second floor in European terminology). There was an elevator. The apartment windows faced a quiet side street. Sometimes we could hear people walking in the apartment upstairs, but the overall sound isolation was okay.
On the day of our departure we arranged with Rosa to leave our bags in the kitchen until 4 p.m. When we came, Rosa was waiting for us to pick up the keys and return our deposit.
Note that Barcelona-Estació de Franca train station is located just five minutes’ walking distance from the apartment. That is convenient for any connections to/from the main train station, Barcelona-Sants. Trains between two stations go every 15 min, and a long-distance Renfe ticket would cover the connection.
Overall, we were very happy with the apartment.
We're just back from our trip to Barcelona, it was brilliant! The apartment was faultless; immaculate, modern, excellently maintained and equipped with everything you might need. Situated in the Born district, surrounded by lots of historic little streets, alleys and nooks to explore. There are hundreds of great places to eat and drink and many independent boutiques and shops. We wandered the streets for hours just looking at it all. As the location is so central, you can pretty much walk to the local attractions by foot, or walk 2 mins up the street to the Jaume underground station. The owner was waiting for us outside on arrival and was very friendly. She was efficient, professional and helpful throughout our correspondence, a pleasure to deal with. We will be recommending the apartment to all our friends and family; a wonderful stay!
Located next to the church Santa Maria del Mar (Cathedral of the Sea) and Picasso Museum, one of the most beautiful and emblematic areas of Ciutat Vella. A 300 m from the beach, minutes from Las Ramblas.
