PLACES TO GO AND THINGS TO DO AWAY FROM THE BEACH
We are located between the towns of Indian River and Topinabee and you’ll have easy access to I-75. It is only a 30-40 minute drive to great shopping, excellent dining, and many attractions in Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Mackinac, Gaylord and Cheboygan, not to forget Indian River and Topinabee.
It is a 10 minute drive north to this little town where there is a handy convenience store, Topinabee Market. The Breakers Bar is family friendly with an extensive menu, outdoor dining, and a dock. Cafe Noka serves home cooked breakfast and lunch. Save room for desert!
Vivios is a casual family favorite restaurant serving delicious Italian food. If you have a sweet tooth be sure to visit Drost Chocolates. Treat yourself to ice cream and candy made on site. The famous Cross in the Woods with the largest crucifix in the world is found in this small northern Mi. town! Be sure to visit the Chillermania World Headquarters for Johnathan Rand Books.
Cheboygan is located on the shores of Lake Huron and the Cheboygan River. WalMart, Dunhams, Dollar Tree, and the like can be found here. Take in a movie at the Kingston Theater. If you would like to treat yourself to fine dining try the Hack-Ma-Tac Inn on the water.
Mackinac City and Mackinac Island
Head north on I 75 where there is so much to do like a ferry ride to the Island or visit the historic fort in Mackinac City. Don't forget to try the fudge!
Take the groomed trail off the the beach road to hike, bike, snowshoe, cross country ski and snowmobile north towards Cheboygan or south towards Gaylord.
Take in the fall colors by driving M-119 through the “Tunnel of Trees” north of Harbor Springs. Stop at the Good Hart General Store to take home the whitefish pate’, their famous chicken pot pie and yummy baked goods. Then be sure to continue north to the historic Legs Inn in Cross Village for dinner.
