ENJOY THE BIG ISLAND'S BEST BEACHES AT A FRACTION OF THE COST

Waikoloa Village House Rental Photos and Description

2 bed/2 bath (with optional studio) with mountain and partial ocean views

Our 2 bed/2 bath home is ten to fifteen minutes from the Big Island's very best beaches. You'll enjoy a splendid view of the Kohala Mountains, a small ocean view and dramatic colors at sunset. On clear days, Maui (Haleakula) can be seen looming above the horizon.

A wonderful floor plan for couples or families, our home has 2 bedrooms, each with it's own bathroom, separated by a spacious great room. Pocket doors allow each bedroom/bath to be closed off for privacy. Each bedroom is furnished with a queen bed. The master bedroom has patio doors opening to a covered lanai. The second bedroom opens to a wrap-around deck. The great room, with full kitchen, dining area and living room, opens to a screened lanai for outdoor dining.

Located on a quiet cul-de-sac, with mature landscaping, our home is a peaceful private oasis. Along with new bamboo and tile flooring, and a pleasant color palette, you'll enjoy contemporary comfortable furnishings. You'll find our leather sectional welcoming after a day at the beach or touring the island. If you choose to stay in for the evening, a flat screen TV and DVD player are there to entertain you.

Ceiling fans, a solar attic fan and good cross ventilation keep our home comfortable. Due to it's high elevation, mornings and evenings tend to be cool.

Lounge chairs and built in bench seating are on the deck for your enjoyment. The garden is quite pretty with palms, plumeria, avocado, and banana trees and flowering hibiscus surrounding the lawn.

Towels and bed linen are new and top quality. Beds are quite comfortable. The kitchen, with breakfast bar and adjacent dining area, is fully equipped.

Our kitchen has coffee maker, electric tea kettle, toaster oven, blender, mini food processor, microwave and full sets of knives, cookware and dishes, and glassware. The fridge has ice and water on the door. If you like to grill, a gas BBQ is right outside the screened lanai.

You'll find beach towels, chairs, thermos bags, newer snorkel sets, and boogie boards for your convenience.

A washer and dryer are located in the adjacent garage.

Waikoloa Village has a full service grocery store with bakery, sushi counter and deli. There's also a gas station, coffee shop and a few restaurants. The community offers a pool, golf, tennis and riding stables. All are less than 5 minutes drive from the house.

The Waikoloa pool includes both an adult pool for lap swimming and a large shallow kiddie pool. There are lounge chairs, a shaded area, showers, and restroom facilities.

The Kohala Coast resorts, all about 10-20 minutes drive time, offer a myriad of shopping and restaurant options.

At the closest, the Waikoloa Beach Resort, you'll find the King and Queen Shops with boutiques, art galleries and a wide range of dining options. In the early evening, enjoy Hawaiian music and hula. Or skip the shops, and head out to our personal favorite, Lava Lava Beach Club at A-bay (Anaeho'omalu), for the fantastic ocean front atmosphere. Happy hour is from 3-5pm and at sunset the tikis are lit, and the live music starts. It just doesn't get any better.

Vacation like a local, take advantage of the Big Island's best beaches and other resort amenities for a fraction of the cost.

You'll find driving in our area to be a breeze, roads are great and there's never any traffic. Going to the beach you'll enjoy dramatic views of Mauna Kea and the Kohala mountains.

Centrally located, Waikoloa Village is a great home base for exploring all that the Big Island has to offer. Going north past the beaches you'll find Kawaihae Harbor with a few local restaurants and a great little place to buy fresh fish. Continue up the Kohala Coast to explore the old plantation towns of Hawi and Kapa'a. The Pololu Valley look-out is the end of the road and well worth the drive.

Kona airport is about 35 minutes to the south with Costco close-by. Kailua Kona town is another 10 minutes further south.

Waimea town, Parker Ranch and great Saturday Farmers' Markets are about 20 minutes away.

For further exploring, Saddle Road is about 10 minutes away. Taking the new Saddle Road, it's about an hour to the Mauna Kea Visitor Center and about 1.5 hours to Hilo. Volcanos National Park is under 2 hours away.

If you require more space, our optional studio with bath and kitchenette is available for longer stays. Rates listed below only apply to the 2 bedroom home. If you are interested in booking the house with studio, please contact us. Please note, Our studio is only available for rent as an addition to the house.

After working in the San Francisco Bay Area for 20 years, we retired to the Big Island in 2010 to pursue our dreams. We raise sheep and grow veggies and fruit on a small farm on the Hamakua Coast just north of Hilo.

We live here, and so appreciate all the Big Island has to offer, we're pleased to share information about all the fantastic places to explore.

After purchasing our home, we made substantial improvements before listing it as a vacation rental. We manage the property ourselves and take pride in offering a lovely home for our guests. We're very pleased with the feedback we've been receiving as well as the repeat bookings.

We hope you'll enjoy spending time at our Waikoloa Village vacation home as much as we do.

Jane Simon purchased this house in 2012

We purchased our Waikoloa Village vacation home because of it's wonderful year round weather and proximity to our favorite beaches Kohala Coast beaches. We enjoy swimming in the turquoise waters, snorkeling among sea turtles, tropical fish and colorful coral reefs. Picnicing, lounging and reading on the beach all come in a close second.

We're drawn to the home's inviting indoor/outdoor spaces. At day's end, we're on the lanai with cool drinks in hand watching the sunset colors unfold. We enjoy the mature tropical landscaping with palms, plumeria and avocado and banana

We like having a house rather than a condominium. The location on a quiet cul-de-sac feels private. Our neighbors are full time residents. While our home is located only 35 minutes north of the Kona airport and Costco, we appreciate being away from the congestion of Kailua-Kona.

Why stay in a condo when you can rent a private home? The mature landscaping and location on a quiet cul-de-sac make for a private feel. You'll find an open floor plan with newer (2012) bamboo and tile flooring. New leather sectional, screened lanai and nice outdoor furnishings

Splendid view of the Kohala Mountains and dramatic colors at sunset. On clear days, Maui can be seen looming above the horizon

Swim and snorkel the best beaches, explore the charming Kohala Coast plantation towns, and enjoy all the Big Island has to offer at a fraction of the cost.

Great Neighbourhood, Great Location and Very Homey!

  • 5 of 5
We spent two weeks at this beautiful home! As soon as we walked in we knew it was going to be a comfortable stay. It was great because the house is out of the super touristy area of Waikoloa Beach, it was very quiet and there is lots of privacy with trees, shrubs and plants surrounding the property. There are two bedrooms (each with their own bathroom down the hall) and there is a sliding pocket door for privacy on each side where the bedrooms are located. The backyard was very nice in the morning, afternoon and night with lounge chairs to enjoy any part of the day. The house is very open and bright with lots of air coming thru when the doors are open. The owners are spectacular! We had an issue with the hot water, I notified them the night before and they were at the house in the early morning to fix the problem for us. Jane was great to answer any and all of my questions. We felt so at home and so comfortable here, we would stay here again in a heartbeat! We were too busy to check out the pool, but we did explore the beaches which were 10-15 minutes away! The market is great, which is only 5 minutes away, prices were average but the produce was expensive (as we expected). The house is well looked after inside and out, it was also great to have a washer and dryer to used at any time! I would recommend this house to a family or two couples! Lots of room and great for everyone! Thank you again for everything!

Comfortable, clean, great location

  • 5 of 5
We stayed in this home for 5 nights and could have stayed longer. The home is in a residential neighborhood - definitely not the busy, noisy condo environment. The kitchen is fantastic with quality equipment. We used the BBQ every night. Once we got home after a busy day at the beach we just didn't want to leave. Everything about the home is comfortable - the couch, the screened lanai for meals, the Timber ___ chair on the porch, and the bed. We used their cooler and chairs for the beach. They thought of everything, and we felt very welcome. And the deposit was returned very promptly. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Wonderful Waikoloa Village House

  • 5 of 5
We loved our stay in this house. First of all, the listing description and the pictures accurately describe the house - yes, the sectional couch is as comfortable as it looks. While we would have preferred a king bed, the queens were quite comfortable. One thing that is not mentioned in the description is that each of the two bedrooms and bathrooms opens onto a hallway; the hallways themselves have doorways (to the great room) with pocket doors that allow you to completely close off each of the two "suites." That afforded a high degree of privacy for us and guests in the other bedroom. The house is immaculate - we happened to see the housekeeper at work and she is very, very thorough. We found ourselves eating on the screened-in lanai every day. Not too many Village houses have screened in areas, but they are nice whenever pesky flies are around. We were there during the Olympics and enjoyed the large TV and Dish satellite. Wi-Fi worked well through-out the house. The owners were exceptionally responsive to all of our inquiries and were a pleasure to deal with. They provide many suggestions; we didn't follow all of them but we can vouch for several such as the fish market in Kawaihae (we used the grill many nights for fish or island beef), the setting (not to be missed; food OK) at Lava Lava Beach club, the wine store in Waimea, and snorkeling at Beach 69 (no longer undiscovered but still lovely). We don't eat out a lot but would also recommend the Blue Dragon with live music in Kawaihae. All in all, a very comfortable house with a convenient location and gracious and responsive owners. As they say in their description, it doesn't get any better than this.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED IT

  • 5 of 5
We -- two somewhat hard-to-please New Yorkers -- stayed here for a week in October, 2013, and had a wonderful, relaxing time. From day one, we found the house stocked with everything we needed to feel "at home", and the materials left for us by the owners got us quickly oriented, both to the house, and the surrounding community. Although we chose to eat all our meals in local restaurants (compulsive reviewers for TripAdvisor), the kitchen was fully stocked with what we would have needed had we decided to follow the owner's directions to the best local fresh-catch shops and groceries. We found everything we wanted or needed a short drive away -- beaches, restaurants, grocery and misc. shopping, and resorts. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, secluded from the street, quite generously spacious with ceiling fans in every room, perfect for dialing-down from our mainland stresses. The location in Waikoloa Village provides quick highway access to every part of the island we wanted to visit, from the Airport to Hilo on the Island's east side. We would repeat the experience in a minute and, in fact, are currently discussing another visit, accompanied a second couple, since the house would easily, comfortably accommodate four.

Hands down, our most relaxing visit to the Big Island!

  • 5 of 5
Let me say upfront that I don't think you could find a better place to stay for the pricing involved! The value per dollar spent is incredible. If you are looking to be wined and dined, this and or any rental probably is not for you. You do truly feel like a "local" staying at this property.
The house is exactly as described, with all of the amenities working very well. The big refrigerator with automatic ice-maker was a godsend for us. Our family tends to be a bit beach oriented, so the supply of ice and thermos coolers provided really came in handy. If you like to stay in and eat, the owner has provided plenty of dishware and cooking utensils for most every need. Also, the washer and dryer(in the garage), the wonderful gas grill, and the dishwasher, all contributed to the relaxing nature of our stay.
The location was perfect for our needs! We were close enough to the best beaches(10 to 15 minutes drive), yet far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the "touristy"areas. If you would happen to need help with anything, the owner resides on the Island, and is a phone call away. The owner is helpful and extremely accomodating! The house was very clean, and the landscaping and pivacy fence really lend a feeling of security as well as eye candy.
My wife and teenage daughter and I have been lucky enough to come to The Big Island for the last 10 years. Any trip here is wonderful, but this house really made this trip perfect! I can't recommend this property highly enough, and it will definitely be our first and only choice for accomodations for any of our future trips. I just hope it doesn't get too popular that we lose our opportunity to book!! Just kidding, Jane!
Thankyou again for providing this great house for my family to use for our vacation. We can't wait to come back!!!

Wonderful. Super comfortable and wonderful breezes

  • 5 of 5
Staying here was like having a really comfortable house on the Kohala coast. I could live in this house permanently and be very comfortable. Waikoloa Village is an irrigated oasis in the desert, at some elevation. There are amazing breezes here and we slept with all the windows open every night. The house has lovely landscaping all around to give you all the privacy you could want. It very nice and roomy, the bed and sofa were nice and very comfortable, there was a huge TV with Dish satellite tv in the living room and another in the bedroom. There were beach chairs in the garage that we enjoyed on trips to the beach. There's a good grocery store in the neighborhood and it's a quick drive both to the beaches of the Kohala coast or to locations for hiking.

Thanks for letting us stay here, we got to relax.
