ENCHANTED ROMANTIC GET-AWAY OR SMALL FAMILY DESTINATION

Bigfork Chateau / Country House Rental Photos and Description

Large Craftsman Style Studio Set Against The Magnificent Swan Mountains.

Nestled between tall evergreens and situated against the Swan Mountain Range, sits this lovely craftsman style guesthouse, we call our “tree house.”

Guests will enjoy this magnificent peaceful space as a romantic get-away or a small family retreat destination.

With enough room to accommodate up to two couples and three to four children, guests will find a comfy queen size bed, thick queen size futon, a cozy loft for children to play, read or sleep, a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, a therapeutic steam shower, washer and dryer, and a large deck to enjoy outside dining with incredible panoramic views of the mountains and its wildlife residents. Wireless Internet service, online streamed Netflix movies are also available to guests.

Just outside the door, guests will find immediate access to mountain trails and nearby access to rafting put-ins along the Swan River. Guests are also invited to share the beautiful surrounding grounds, a lovely waterfall studded pond, tree swing, Teepee, hammock, and private mountain bike trails.

We also encourage our guests to visit with our goats, chickens, and special livestock guardian dogs (just beware of the electric fence), see our four-season greenhouse, and to sample our fresh eggs every morning and any of the organic fruits and veggies grown on our property.

This property is incredibly special and uniquely showcases the majestic qualities of each season. On any day one can spot a variety of wildlife traversing the land, sightings could include deer, elk, moose, foxes, bobcat, raccoon, squirrels, bald eagles, ducks, geese, hawks, herons, owls and many other birds, most notably the wild swan. White Tail Deer tend to be the most common but are the most lovely and peaceful sighting. Occasionally, bear, wolf, and mountain lion are seen but our big guardian dogs keep these larger predators off our property.

Originally from Southern California, we purchased this property to create a quiet self sufficient and sustainable life for our small family. We are raising goats, chickens, livestock guardian dogs, and organic fruits and veggies.

We fell in love with this beautiful private property, the wilderness setting, and its unique craftsman style structures, and you will too!

My wife and I spent the first few nights of our honeymoon at this beautiful property. We loved the views and the secluded feel of the property despite being only minutes from Bigfork. The owners were extremely accommodating and provided us with delicious farm-fresh eggs and even a giant cinnamon roll one morning. The "tree house" was very clean and the accommodations were very nice. We both thought that the steam shower was incredibly relaxing. This is the perfect place for a romantic getaway but would be great for kids as well. Thanks!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the nice review and for your sweet comments in our guestbook! I was thrilled that you and your wife chose our place to start your honeymoon! I have since reached out to Bren Mar Estate to see how we can best cross-refer couples who are getting married. Their estate looks like a lovely place to have a wedding and quite similar in style to our property, plus it is so very close and up against the same mountain range, providing continuity in the experience for wedding couples. I am also so pleased to hear that you loved our hens' eggs, the Montana Traders coffee beans, and the freshly baked cinnamon bun. We are delighted that you and your wife were able to relax and enjoy the excitement of your new marriage in the "Treehouse." We so hope you will come stay again! Anniversary?!! :-) Congratulations again and we wish you both the very best!

This gem was one of the highlights of our trip to Montana. The guest house is nestled in the forest but still close enough to Bigfork if you want to go shopping or eating out. The beds were comfy, the decor was warm, and the place was stocked with everything we needed and more. We used the guest house as our home base going out to Whitefish, Columbia Falls, and Kalispell during day. However, we found that our kids sometimes preferred to hang out in the loft, play on the swings and hammocks, and near the animals rather than venturing out. The owners/hosts were amazingly inviting, hospitable, and accommodating. We would definitely return in the future or recommend it to others.

Sweet little studio apartment

surrounded by forest. Absolutely gorgeous area of MT. Very relaxing with a comfortable bed, nice little kitchen and WONDERFUL steam shower! Accommodating hosts but they didn't intrude at all. We enjoyed the fresh eggs. My only complaints were that we were greeted by some almost dead geranium plants and not very tidy pathway. I tried to water them everyday we were there to try to revive them and they looked a little better when we left. The place looked in need of a professional mow job. Also I reached into the pet yard to scratch the goat's nose and was badly shocked by the electric fence. There really needs to be a sign informing guests that the fence is electric. (There is a small note in the info notebook but it has no warnings about not touching the goat and the fence at the same time. Yikes!!)

All in all it was a nice place to stay.

Owner's Response: Our hearts are always so full when we hear how much our guests have enjoyed the Treehouse and this property! It is very special even though somewhat wild and natural rather than perfectly manicured. Our bantam chickens love to scratch and peck beside the walkway and since we don't want to disturb our guests, we wait for a break in occupancy to sweep, mow, and pot new plants. Since we have been booked solid and the grass grows quickly, things may have been more unkempt than usual. We are also sorry to hear the electric fence zapped you! Typically, our guests pet the goats over the shorter gates that are not electrified. We will be posting signs so guests will be alerted beyond the Rental Agreement and Welcome Letter content. Thank you so much for your feedback and suggestions!

My family loved staying at the Wild Swan Retreat. The home is gorgeous, and very secluded. Our hosts were extremely nice, helpful, prompt and they shared their fresh eggs, and greenhouse tomatoes with us. The home is only 10 minutes to the north side of Flathead lake, where an awesome public beach is available. We would definitely stay here again. Our deposit was returned to us very promptly as well, without us having to say anything. Thanks again, Lisa, you and your family are great to work with!

What a wonderful experience we had at this property! The view of the mountains were breath taking.
The property was rural which we loved. The rooster crowing outside brought back memories of childhood. Our Granddaughter loved the loft. The beds were comfortable after a day of sightseeing.
So many things were provided for our use that we didn't expect. Loved the shower! We would return and recommend this property to anyone who enjoys a quiet, restful place.
