This house has 3 bedrooms which consist of a king bed, queen and double bed as well as a queen sleeper sofa and 3 baths, a beautiful game room with a Murphy Bed and pool table, out door shower, swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor stereo system. We have the most unique garage space in Pinehurst which has heat and ac as well as a large screen colored TV and stereo system with double french doors leading to pool. My husband, and I met in NY, in 1997 as he was passing through my hometown of Bronxville, NY. He was visiting a mutual friend who introduced us. We got engaged in June of 2001 (married in November of 2001). He asked me to move to North Carolina so he could be close to his son until he graduated high school in 2004. I agreed, knowing I would return to NY to visit my ailing mother and father regularly and together eventually we would move back north. We decided we should buy a home rather than rent. After 6 months of looking we both agreed we loved the rental cottage my husband was living in. Soon after his landlord called to tell us she was going to sell the cottage. Perfect! We purchased it a month after our wedding and decided we needed to up date it and do a few minor things to make it our own. 5 months later I found out I was pregnant and told my husband he needed to ask the village planner to move things along! Our renovation started when our daughter was 4 months old in late may of 2003 and was completed shortly after the birth of our son in April of 2004. So much for moving back north 2 years later as I had planned! As our kids got older and started pre-school I did not want to leave our home or all the wonderful friends we had made. Our home was perfect for our young family. Complete with a small heated swimming pool we used roughly 6 months of the year and decorated by a new york interior designer we met through an old college buddy of my husband's. As our son still loves to say the house was cozy!
As my mother's Alzheimer's was getting worse and my father was getting older I knew it was time to move north. My stepson had long since graduated from college and it was time for us to go. We now live in Westport, CT 40 minutes from my parents but go to our 'cozy' home as often as we can. We still love walks into the village and visit as many friends and favorite places as possible. As the kids say Pinehurst will always be home.
FRANCESCA purchased this cottage in 2001
We loved the simplicity and feel of this little home and the vision of what we wanted to turn it into. We loved the proximity to the village, spa, friends, restaurants, golf, southern pines and so much more. The best way I can describe our house is a happy house. It is an easy to live in and enjoy life cottage.
The kitchen is easy to use and a fun place to cook.
On a sunny morning it is great to have the screen door open and smell the fresh air either as you gaze out the window and sip your coffee at the table, or while sitting on the front porch. You can enjoy music while playing a game of pool or ping pong in the beautiful rustic game room with antique barnwood walls, or while relaxing in the pool. Enjoy a hot sauna or cuddle up with a book in front of the fire place. Grill dinner on the BBQ by the pool or sit in the sun on a hot day and watch TV from the chaise. You can do it all. This is a very casual and fun place to stay while visiting Pinehurst, great for a group of guys, a girls weekend, couples or a family.
Just returned from a wonderful week of golf Pinehurst - it doesn't get any better !! The Club House Cottage was simply the best anyone could ask for - The house has everything , lots of room and the kitchen is well equipped with everything one might need . Both the owner and Wally ( house manager ) were easy to deal with . Wally booked all our tee times and helped make sure our trip was one to remember . The house is in a quiet beautiful neighborhood and is close to EVERYTHING in the village . We were 4 guys and hope to go back next year - the overall experience was 5 star !!
If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting Pinehurst to golf... LOOK NO FURTHER.
The Club House Cottage was simply perfect for the 4 of us. Went there for one week to golf and could not have chosen a better place to stay. It's all there, very well appointed and the owner was a pleasure to deal with. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Close to all of the courses, walking distance to the lovely Pinehurst village. I could go on and on.....
Our family of 4 (kids ages 9 and 7) stayed for a long 4th of July weekend. The home is in excellent shape and the renovation has retained the charm of the home's 100 +/- year old structure while adding the modern conveniences that are necessarry - kitchen, baths, bedding all exceeded our high expectations. House manager Wally was super easy to work with and met us at the house and gave us a tour/instructions. Location is great ... the village shops, restaurants and farmers market (**get the homemade peach pound cake from the lady with the baked goods**) is an easy 5 minute walk and a couple of restaurants are 1-2 blocks away...perfect for carry out when kids are in the pool or if an early happy hour prevents a trip in the car. The Pinehurst clubhouse and tennis center is an easy drive or bike ride. With the seperate living spaces - main house, basement rec room, and garage/pool house - there is plenty of space for a larger group. We will come again ...and we don't even golf
We stayed at the Club House Cottage in July of 2014 for the US Kids Teen Week. Our kids were begging us to extend the stay! This was our third trip to the various US Kids tourneys in Pinehurst, we have stayed in three different homes that we loved but this one was by far our favorite. We would highly recommend this home. Not only for families with kids but for golfers and couples as well.
You can walk to numerous restaurants, pizza place a block away that is great for bringing pizza back to the house and enjoynig by the pool.
In addition to a perfect Pinehurst location in the Village the house itself is amazing. Very well done, comfortable, beautiful and has everything you need for eating in. The pool house/garage/outdoor area is perfect for swimming and hanging out. The morning after we arrived we watched the final round of the Open Championship in the area off the pool that opens up to the pool while the kids swam. It felt like we had our own resort.
Owner was great to deal with. They have a local resident that watches after the house, Wally, who checked in with us numerous times to make sure we had what we needed and even checked in to make sure we arrived home safely after we left. He also provided us with tips for places to eat and where to go around town.
The house feels like Pinehurst and golf! We won't stay anywhere else when we go back. The decor in and around the house is amazing.
This is a wonderful property. My wife and I, along with our two adult children just loved the place. It is a short walk to the center of the village and we rented bicycles from a shop in Southern Pines to ride through more distant neighborhoods.
The rooms in the house are well sized, the appliances are new and the bathrooms are up to date. We enjoyed the afternoon breeze on the front porch and the privacy in the backyard around the pool. There is plenty of room for four - even five adults.
The owners were easy to deal with and the local property manager was very helpful. We would rent this house again.
This house is amazing. I looked at about 10 different rentals, since I used to live in Pinehurst, I knew the area well. We finally decided on this one and we could not have been more thrilled. From the pictures, I knew the house would be nice, but when we arrived we were blown away. Others have said it, but the pictures doe not do this place justice! The décor is beautiful, very comfortable and the house is equipped with everything you could ever need. Thank goodness they must have large hot water heaters b/c with the multi-jet showers, you will never want to leave. I am a travel agent by trade, so I am very particular in what I seek in accommodations....this is like staying in your own private 5 star residence (but for an excellent value). We even entertained friends from the areas for brunch and a poolside BBQ and had everything we needed! The location is perfect, walk to the village easily and just minutes away from all the courses. When we return to Pinehurst, there is no other place we would even consider playing. What a perfect retreat after a round of golf. The owners are also fabulous to work with and very kind. Book this place, you will not be disappointed.
Our beautiful home is located in the heart of old town Pinehurst. There are over 40 golf courses within Moore County. We are less than a 10 minute walk to the historic Carolina Hotel and the famous Number 2. We are 5 miles away from Southern Pines another lovely Southern Town known for it's beautiful main street, gorgeous horse farms and other equestrian events. Close to Seagrove and all the fantastic local pottery. Amazing how much there is to see and do in or close to Pinehurst.
