If your looking for quiet, clean luxurious setting with spectacular views for families, couples or a large group, she will make your stay an enjoyable Alaska experience.
Steps to the beach, and beautiful large decks for viewing wildlife make this wonderful setting come alive. Drift off at night to the sounds and smells of the ocean.
We had in our party two grandparents, a daughter, three grand children, and an uncle. This turned out to be the perfect place for such a diverse group. Lots of room, very clean, well equipped and modern kitchen. Very tastefully decorated. The beach was a short walk away down a trail and this where the kids spent a lot of time. The unit overlooks the bay and the views were ravishing. Jennifer, the owner, was very helpful and we enjoyed visiting with her. We had a great time and hope to return.
Jennifer was a very accommodating Hostess She was very concern about our comfort. The house was very clean and fully equip with everything you would need .The view was outstanding . Yes I would return to any of her property , and recommend a stay in her place WONDERFUL.
This was the most awesome place I have stayed in kodiak...the view was the best. We were able to watch about 40 sea lions 2 evenings they beached themselves near the house. Jennifer was the perfect hostess. This was my 3 summer in Kodiak and I plan on staying here many more years.
This rental offers spacious floor plan and a beautiful view from the deck. The beds were comfortable. The property owner was very accommodating to early check in and storing luggage for a later flight. Our only concern was the water temperature. We traveled with our infant and the water was scalding. It was very hard to find a happy medium for her baths. We did share the concern with the owner and she said it was turned up to accommodate several people taking showers in a row.
Note: The temp on the water heater does not control the amount of hot water available. It is the size of the water heater.
We stated at this house while visiting my son, who is in the Coast Guard in Kodiak. We wanted a home near the town but not too near, this was perfect. It took about 10 minutes to get from the house to town and a couple more to reach the CG base. It is on a quiet street overlooking a beautiful bay, with fishing and a private beach just below. A bald eagle landed on the back porch, and an 8 foot bear welcomed us every day (the eagle was real, the bear was carved of wood).
Due to the nature of the Coast Guard we couldn't be sure of the date we could see our son, and at the last minute we had to change our plans. Jennifer was extremely understanding and was able to switch our dates with another family at no charge. She is right next door if you need anything but respected our privacy for the 2 weeks we were there.
The house was warm, cozy, clean and everything worked. The only problem was the second bathroom, which is just a toilet, but the main bath is great so this was not an issue.
We stayed in August and the weather was great, just a few rainy days and lots of clear, blustery days to kayak, hike, tour the island or just relax.
We are already planning our next visit and will definitely stay here again.
A beautiful island. A lot of scenic views, bears, whales, sea lions, killer whales ,mountains, beaches.
