Overview

Stevenson House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 12)

From the beautiful stone patio with its bubbling waterfall, firepit and 8-person hot tub, to sweeping views of the Columbia Gorge, to the luxuriously-appointed beds, every one of your senses will be pampered. Casual yet sophisticated, this home's four bedrooms and 3 baths make it a great choice for a family, multiple couples or corporate groups.

The king-size bed in the King Bedroom faces a large window with a view across the Gorge, while the Skylight Queen Bedroom has its own full bath. The Little Queen Bedroom shares a 3/4 bath with the King. Two sofabeds (queen and twin), a daybed and a twin-over-full bunk round out the sleeping accommodations.

A very well-appointed kitchen with full-size, stainless appliances makes meal prep a breeze. In the nearby town of Stevenson you'll find fresh, local produce, meats, a wide array of superb Washington wines and local brews, and just-caught, cut to order fish to bring back for the grill!

But if you'd rather not cook, there are great local restaurants a short drive away. Stevenson is tiny, but packed with shops and services to meet nearly any need, and you'll find a bookstore, a wine bar and a terrific brew pub (Walking Man) that's definitely worth a stop. Regardless, you'll want to hurry back for a toast to the day as the Gorge turns crimson in the sunset.

The location provides easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and more, yet the setting itself is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Surrounded by national and state parks, wildlife reserves and the magnificent Columbia River, with its world-class windsurfing and kiteboarding, you'll still be less than twenty minutes from charming Stevenson, and about 12 minutes from the iconic Bridge of the Gods.

You will find all sorts of up-to-date guide books and hiking maps, but you'll be tempted to stay put in the Greatroom, with its stone fireplace, a 52-inch plasma TV with satellite cable and streaming Blu-ray, thanks to the reliable, high-speed internet. You'll also find a cool little internet radio in the Sunroom, near the telescope and ping-pong table. iPhone and Android docks will keep all your gadgets charged, too.

Babies and children welcome! You'll find a crib, booster seats, Pack-n-Play and age-appropriate toys and games.

Weddings? Yes! Cascade Retreat can accommodate outdoor wedding parties of up to 50 guests. Please call for pricing.

Corporate Retreats? Workshops? Sure! Workgroups will find plenty of space for meetings, and tables, chairs and AV equipment can be furnished on request.

Cascade Retreat is also elder-accessible and alternate-lifestyle friendly. Plenty of parking rounds out the list of reasons you'll want to choose Cascade Retreat for your next vacation or gathering.

MLK Weekend Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We had 8 Mid & SR High youth and 3 adults to share the house which has lots of space in 4 large rooms in addition to the bedrooms for multiple activities and games when the winter rain keeps you inside. The house is very modern and well furnished. The hot tube was nice, especially the 2nd night when the clouds broke and all the stars were visible. Easy to get to and to drive up the Gorge from. The youth want to go back again and that's an A+ endorsement. Thanks.

Perfect Board Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Rating: 5/5

Great Retreat for both business and relaxation! Don't let the brief windy road deter your decision to book.

Excellent group meeting site: The bedrooms are wonderful and the restrooms are perfect. However, the bedrooms can meet the numbers only if you are sleeping partners. Lots of space, storage, and electrical access. For a group of more than 5 adults not sharing beds, air mattresses suggested. As a working group, it was really nice to have separate eating areas. One was used to set up our computers to do our work, and had the other dining area to eat and get away from work. The kitchen was perfect and modern with all the necessary appliances and dishes. The family sun room provided excellent sun light views of visiting deer and blue jays. The 57" TV was awesome for watching the Seahawks win. With the road access being windy, it's best to arrive during daylight. The property has excellent Internet access with a router..five computers easily accessed the Internet. This was a winter meeting, so the outdoors and hot tub didn't get appreciated if it had been warmer weather. The only negative is the limited cell coverage.

Great getaway close to Portland

  • 5 of 5

This a great getaway house close to Portland. Great views with a nice hot tub outside. While the home is older you can tell there have been some upgrades in the bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped and even had a great selection of spices. It's so nice to come into a place that isn't stripped bare after each visit.

Cascade Retreat in the summer!

  • 5 of 5

We returned to this property for the 2nd time this summer, 1st time we were here in the fall. Amenities still great...fully equipped kitchen with everything you would find in your own home, wonderful soaks in the hot tub, fire pit at night roasting marshmallows, hiking trail around property & love the location...close to Stevenson, restaurants, Bridge of the Gods toll bridge, Beacon Rock, hiking trails (we did trails at Skamania Lodge-easy, Strawberry Island-easy & Horsetail Falls-easy/moderate), etc. On the property were added off of the main trail a picnic bench with an amazing view of the Columbia River & a short trail cut at the very peak of the main trail with a bench with another amazing point of view. This time around we saw lots of deer & rabbits on the property almost everyday, along with a shy little squirrel. We love this place, very relaxing & our son had a lot of fun running around on the property trail. We look forward to staying here again & recommend this place to friends & family.
