Guest House has TV, Wifi, full kitchen, dining table, king and double sized beds, plus optional roll-a-way.
Being Front Range Natives (Denver area), my wife and I knew just where we wanted to raise our children. Although through the years we have visited many places on the globe, we still can't believe we live in such a beautiful place. In our hearts, it ranks in the top ten of the world!
Jim Brinkmann purchased this cottage in 1995
The property size is just under 6 acres. Our house sits on the the opposite side of a large driveway (turn a round). The houses are laid out in a way that gives both residencies the privacy becoming the area.
The house has all the comforts, yet has a very cozy feel and a sence that your in the middle of the woods, but in truth, really not far away from anything!
Finally i got to write the review since this was one of the best vacation we had and mostly dues to place we choose. The house had a very homey atmosphere. It was almost like living in our home. It has a small upstair area loft area with huge collection of movies. Every small details were taken care by the owners. The owners are very nice. They have two dogs, Freya and Annie and a cat named Gueinevier. Kids enjoyed the company of pets. The beds are very warm and comfy. The kitchen has all the appliances you need and every small details was taken care of by the owners. The town itself is small, but is very nice. There is a store close to the house for anything that u may need during the stay . This place is about 25 miles away from Wolf Creek Ski area and an hr away from Durango which has beautiful train ride into mountains. All in all, I give it a 5 star review. Thank you for helping us create memories . We will definitely return.
Very clean. Owners live next door. Very nice people. Would stay again!!
The stay was very pleasant, and the owner (Jim) very friendly. The cottage was nicely in the woods, with plenty of hiking opportunities nearby.
The kids loved the loft- it became their special place.
The location was convenient to Pagosa Springs, and Durango was about an hour away.
The trip to Pagosa Springs was wonderful, in large part due to the venue we rented. At first, I worried that it was too far from town, but the drive was easy and after we figured out the "lay of the land," it actually turned out to be a blessing. We liked that the location was away from the activity and touristy shopping of downtown because it gave us a space to really be quiet, watch the wildlife and admire the stars in a velvety black sky.
The cottage itself had plenty of room for two and would have easily accommodated four. It was very clean and nicely contained. The kitchen had all the appliances we needed including an espresso maker! There was also a washing machine, which will come in handy for people on longer stays or with small children.
We also liked the extensive video collection.
I would recommend this cottage to everyone with a car.
Could not have asked for a better place to stay on our second trip to Pagosa. Our first trip we didn't make it past "Old Town". So this new part wa absolutely a wonderful surprise! How is clean, comfortable and beautifully presented. Jim and his wife were so accommodating! Everything you need is in the house or within a 10 mile radius. I don't cook on vacation. Food, shopping, fishing, gas and much more. Careful at night around the bends going to the house...we came upon an elk..lucky we were going slow and she was moving right along. We has a fabulous time during our stay! Thanks Jim and we will be back!!
Very nice stay. Quite and peaceful area. Great views and plenty of space.
Extremely clean property. Short drive to town.
Owner are sweet and respect your privacy.
I would highly recommend this lovely home away from home.
The Pagosa Springs area in particular, is what all of the Colorado mountains used to be. There is not any direction on the compass from our guest house, that won't land you in the raw beauty of nature! From mountain peaks and streams to the lower altitude(6,100 ft.) water fun that is Navajo Reservoir. One can also play in the San Juan River, with tube and raft rentals available through many locations in town. If you would just like to soak and relax, of course our world famous Hot Springs are hard to beat! But just the breeze singing through the tall Ponderosa Pines on our property, can also relax the soul.
