Loved the kitchen and that it was supplied with everything we needed. Nice layout and spaces to be together upstairs, downstairs, the deck.... Great neighborhood and walk to the beach. We had fun looking through all the VHS tapes; it was fun to see "What About Bob" after all these years. Thanks for sharing this fun, cozy, beach home for family/friends vacations.
As experienced VRBO renters we can honestly say this is the most filthy, run-down home we have ever encountered. From the choking smell of mildew upon entering, to literally sticky carpets, to fingerprinted doors and walls, to a foul sponge left for our use, to a bed with small bugs in the sheets - it is truly a disgusting home. The management company, Vacasa is poorly run, and there is no integrity in the top level of management. While the local contact was able to get a bed we found standing on only three legs fixed on the second day of our stay, the response to the sickening condition of the home was met with laxity and disinterest by management. A paltry refund - offensive really - was offered. We have no choice now but to be honest. The house should be taken off the market - cleaned from top to bottom, fresh paint, new carpets, real beds put in. It's a sad excuse for a rental home. It's almost as if Vacasa bought it from some poor old people and just turned it into a rental home leaving all their possesions and all the old furniture. I still shiver just thinking about stepping on those floors and sitting on the furniture. It's a shameful rental. I am sorry to have to say it so directly. But I wouldn't want anyone else to experience it.
This was an excellent house rental. The place is pretty large--bigger than the pictures convey. Perhaps the nicknacks on the wall make the rooms seem a little smaller in the pictures. The kitchen is nice and large, as well, so there's plenty of room for multiple people to cook a meal for a large group. The deck is MUCH larger than the pictures seem to indicate, and we spent a lot of time hanging out there in the afternoon. The decorations were funny--lots of Disney stuff, obviously, and it added to the charm of the place. The house seems like it has the entire Family section from a now-closed Blockbuster Video store, haha! But seriously, there are hundreds of movies there. We actually ended up popping in a couple of VHS movies in the evening. The walk to the beach isn't bad, a little less than a mile. Can't wait to come back!
We were four mathematicians staying in Aptos for a 3-day research meeting. The house was eclectic, comfortable, close to the beach. Lots of great space to work collaboratively. We spent a lot of time upstairs working at the table, around the sofas, and on the deck. We also used the kitchen a lot. Cooked out on the grill one night. Went running on the beach in the morning. All in all, it was a great experience. Definitely better than staying in a hotel.
Beautiful house! Close to the beach. Kids really enjoyed the house thoroughly. Thank you.
