Nationally and provincially Registered interior

Designer, with a degree from the Ontario College of Art (in interior design). Extensively published, award winning design projects, and top sales producer with my longtime employer. Originally from Ottawa, moved to Vancouver 17 years ago. Extensive experience in buying, renovating, and selling homes. I work in high end furniture retail, as well as doing private design work...mostly helping clients build new homes, or renovate.

chris pallett purchased this condo in 2010

I chose this suite because of the great layout with no wasted space. Had a list of 'must haves', and this suite ticked most of those boxes. Came in with the idea of doing a total renovation, which took 7 months, top to bottom. Love the building amenities, and the proximity to everything I need.

Turnkey, with plenty of left- in -place items to make it easy to feel right at home here. Quality linens, lots of kitchen tools for cooking, good CD/DVD library. Sunny days are perfectly spent on the balcony, or just take in the city with your morning tea or coffee. Toasty warm bathroom floor, and rainshowerhead. Books to read, and much information on what to do in Vancouver and area.

PERFECT LOCATION

  • 4 of 5
As you can see from the photos, the owner has decorated the condo very nicely. He has provided all the unseen necessities as well including everything needed to cook one's own meals. Gourmet grocery store is only half a block away, and the liquor store is one block. Chris was very attentive and friendly and insisted on picking us up from the train station. The condo is extremely well located and we walked everywhere. The only reason we did not give five stars is that there is construction across the street (a large office building) so it was a bit loud during the day. Since we were out and about during most of the day, and since they stopped work each day by 5 or 6, it was not that big of an issue. Nice view from the balcony. We felt like native Vancouverites for our one week stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the kind words.
I cannot do anything about construction, as Vancouver is in the midst of amazing growth, which has now placed Vancouver in the enviable position of being named by New Yorker Magazine as being "One of the World's SUPERSTAR CITIES". I love being able to own a piece of it, and happy to be able to share my home's location and amenities with visitors to Vancouver. I also would like to thank you for leaving my suite in such nice condition, and the thought that would stay here again. Thanks, Chris Pallett

A LITTLE GEM IN VANCOUVER.

  • 5 of 5
I arrived in Vancouver the evening of Dec. 17th, Chris the owner of the condo picked me up at the station and took me to the condo. It was just a nice as the pictures that were on the site. Beautifully decorated and great views from every room. The condo itself had everything I needed. It was centrally located downtown, walk to every where, or just catch a cab, bus, train if you want to get out of town. I would rent the condo again, should I go back to Vancouver. Thank you Chris for sharing your little gem with us!

Owner's Response: Thank you Shirley for the kind words. I was pleased that my suite was available at such short notice for you, when your previous plans changed rapidly. It is always amazing finding guests from all over the world, and you were my first from Hawaii, and with my little touch of Hawaii in the fabrics and artwork in the bedroom, hope it made you feel right at home. I strive to make every visitor feel welcome, and comfortable when they stay in my suite....and again I have been rewarded with the compliment of a 5 star review.
Maholo, and do come back.

HOME-AWAY-FROM-HOME!!

  • 5 of 5
Chris welcomed us to his fabulous suite with wine and fruits! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, comfortable and secure condo. Sitting out on the patio in the evening with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee in the morning was so enjoyable, and the location was perfect with excellent restaurants and shopping. We highly recommend a stay in this "Home-Away-From-Home"...thanks for everything Chris!

AWESOME CONDO

  • 5 of 5
Chris was fantastic! He makes you feel right at home. As soon as you arrive he gives you a tour of all the extra touches as well as a fantastic bottle of wine and fresh fruit. The place is beautiful and comfortable. My favorite was the little balcony. So cozy to curl up and sip my wine and watch the sunset. The place is right in the middle of the shopping and dining district. It took 5 minutes to walk to convention center. Centrally located to all the sights. I highly recommend this condo!

VIVA VANCOUVER!

  • 5 of 5
Chris Pallett’s Carlyle Suite on Alberni St. is indeed an address of note in Vancouver. Chris himself is not so much an owner as a host - never obtrusive, always available and tuned in to his guests’ needs. Not to go unmentioned, he is an interior designer of some mastery - what we saw in the photos on line was actually what we found. The condo is in the center of downtown Vancouver, which makes it an easy walk to most of the venues that the city has to offer or a quick bus, cab, or ferry ride to others. But you will want to walk; Vancouver has been voted one of the most walkable cities in North America. It is easy to find your way around.

The condo itself is spacious for its size and well kept. It is marvelously designed with much attention given to detail. It offers guests just about everything that might be needed for a stay however long or short. We never were at a loss for an item of cookware, electrical entertainment or comfort. Cooking was easy in the well designed, equipped and supplied kitchen. This was important to us as we were staying for a month. The seventh floor corner suite has nice street and city views of what we understand is sometimes appropriately called the City of Glass for its extensive skyline of interesting glass structures.

The amenities included a huge patio and BBQ on a lower floor along with a laundry (quite important for our month long stay), a newly refurbished small gym, a lap pool and hot tub. The building is very secure since the entry ways require multiple electric entry keys and a building staff is available.

There were too many choices of restaurants to recommend or review. They range from affordable to ‘best of Vancouver’ many within a couple of blocks of the condo. The central location makes virtually everything a person might want to do in this vibrant, cosmopolitan city readily available. We found our stay, safe, interesting and in not small part due to Chris as well as his fellow Canadians, very hospitable.

Owner's Response: Thank you Duncan and Pat. My intention has been clear from the outset, to make my guests feel welcome, comfortable, safe, pampered......and well located, and happy that they chose my suite to rent for their vacation. My decades of working with people has taught me the power of successful listening, and appropriate response. I fully intend to keep up the old adage ".....people never regret buying anything of quality.....", and my suite (and I) will continue to offer the best that can be given to my guests.

Voted one of the most liveable cities in the world. This is a very centrally located suite, with a so-called mini Rodeo Drive at your doorstep. Seven great restaurants within the block.
