We have owned our cottage on Big Bear Lake for 25 years. Our family has grown over the years, so we purchased the cottage next door for extra room for family reunions. We would be very pleased to host your family and friends in our lakefront guest cottage which has its own dock, beach, fire pit, and 150 feet of private lake frontage.
Gregg Kabacinski purchased this cottage in 2012
Big Bear Lake has a real 'up north' feel, surrounded by woods and quiet. Our 435 acre lake is crystal clear with great swimming, water skiing, boating and fishing. You will be amazed at the bald eagles and loons that frequent our lake. The loons often provide a serenade, along with the brilliance of the stars as you sit around a campfire on the beach. Oh, and don't get me going on the fishing (smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, muskie, northern pike and panfish - and I've got the pictures to prove it)!!
Our lakefront is the best, providing full sun on the beach and shade in the woods surrounding the cottage. Our location on the south side of the lake provides refreshing breezes and beautiful sunsets. We have 5 acres of private woods behind the cottage for children to explore. For our more adventurous guests there are thousands of acres of federal and state forests, and numerous rivers, within minutes of our cottage.
We had an amazing time at the cabin on Big Bear Lake! The cottage was very clean and well stocked with everything you could ever need. Gregg was very gracious and accommodating!!! The lake was wonderful; the bottom was nice and sandy, no muck! We rented a pontoon from Twin Lakes marina and had lots of fun out on the water. We will definitely be planning another stay here!!!
The cottage on Big Bear Lake was perfect for my family vacation that included our 5 year old and a 22 month old boys. The views from the house were beautiful, the bonfires were cozy and the water was chilly, just like a cabin the north is supposed to be! We even rented a pontoon boat from Twin Lakes Marina in Lewiston for a day which was wonderful. The house was fully stocked with everything you might need and Greg, the owner, was very reliable and helpful. He even brought over movies for the kids to watch when it was raining! We are hoping to make a repeat trip next summer!
It was a very relaxing vacation. Owner, Gregg was very accomodating and available for any questions. It was very clean and furnished with everything we needed. There were plenty videos available also for the kids to watch at night. Lake was beautiful! See ya next year!
Worst vacation ever.
Grill only worked the first day, TV did not work, no privacy the blinds only cover half of the windows we had to use towels, water smells bad and the shower head is next to a power outlet. Left early because we found spiders in the bed. The boat motor was not available for rent.
We had a fantastic time! The location was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the great outdoors! Thank you, Gregg for your gracious hospitality! We experienced bonfires on the beach with an awesome view of the Northern Lights and the peaceful sound of the loon. We will definitely be back!!
A group of 5 of us rented the cottage for Labor day weekend. Everyone had a fantastic time! The weather cooperated for the most part, but on one rainy day we broke out the movies. The cottage was well stocked with everything we needed. The beach and lake were very clean. We had a very relaxing time canoeing across the lake. The boys caught quite a few fish off the end of the dock. Gregg was extremely helpful and pleasant. He provided us with diections to a few local restaurants. Paul's pub had good food and the villager restaurant had a good breakfast, despite the fact that they were packed. If attempting to rent a pontoon from twin lakes marina, make sure to call far enough in advance, especially on holiday weekends. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away from it all and relax. Traverse city, Alpena, and Gaylord are all very close if you are looking for something to do. I recommed , start a fire on the beach, pull up a chair and relax! We would love to come back next year!
