Great house, great location. PET FRIENDLY

  • 5 of 5
The pictures of this house do not do it justice! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The house is well appointed with many of the basics that you may need. Each large, comfortable bedroom has its own bathroom. There is also a convenient washer and dryer too. When you walk outside the house, you're hit with the fresh balsam tree smell, we couldn't get enough of it! From the house, it's just a few quick steps to the ocean. The owner Jim was very friendly and gave great advice on different things to do and see. He lives on the same property, so he's close if you need him for something but was never obtrusive. In fact, you can hardly see the main house from the guest house he rents out. It's peaceful, quiet, and beautiful here. Located not too far from Bar Harbor and other great places to see in Acadia. Definitely a hidden gem that's pet friendly, we'd stay here again for sure. Thanks Jim!!

Loon Cottage - Spectacular!

  • 5 of 5
This was an absolutely perfect place - great cottage and great location. Close to everything we wanted to do in and around the Acadia National Park area. The owners were friendly and made our vacation extra special - even loaned us their bikes and riding gear so we could experience biking in Acadia. The cottage is private, extremely well kept and the owners went the extra mile to make sure everything was great! We could not have asked for a more desirable place - it had everything we wanted and more. What a wonderful place to come to at the end of a day of hiking and sightseeing. We are already planning our next stay at Loon Cottage and are recommending this cottage to our friends and family!

Wonderful Place.. Spectacular Setting

  • 5 of 5
We had a terrific time at the cottage. The cottage was was clean and comfortable. The setting was very special.. tucked into a lovely stand of woods . just a few minutes stroll down to the bay, where the view was simply breathtaking. After a hard day of hiking in Acadia, it was such a treat to relax in the Adirondack chairs, overlooking the bay, watching the loons, eagles, and the spectacular sunsets. I swam in the bay several times, and was surprised to find how clear and warm the water was in comparison to the ocean. The owners were great hosts who lived on the property in a separate home along the waterfront... close enough to be helpful and friendly, and far enough away to provide plenty of privacy. We would love to stay there again.

Lovely cottage in Trenton

  • 5 of 5
Loon cottage is located in a forested area with easy access to a lovely sitting area by the water with table, chairs and hammock. Our family of 5 found the cottage charming-very nicely decorated, roomy and fully equipped. The owners are helpful and friendly. Bar Harbor and Acadia Park are only a short 20 minute drive away. We thoroughly enjoyed our week visit and seeing a red fox on our first day!

Wonderful place from which to get to know Downeast Maine

  • 5 of 5
We just reluctantly returned from a wonderful week. Pre-arrival and throughout our stay, the owners were very helpful in directing us to fun activities and other practical tips about the area. The location is great - very convenient to Mount Desert Island and coastal roads for exploring up the Bold Coast. The kids loved the beach and swam whenever we were there long enough to do so. The cottage had everything we needed, and is somewhere we would definitely return to.

Awesome!

  • 5 of 5
A wonderful experience. The owners were warm, welcoming, and great hosts. We liked it so much our three nights turned into five! The cottage was well appointed and comfortable with pretty much anything you may require. The area is secluded and quiet and very peaceful though still within easy driving of Acadia and markets. Bottom line: we loved it and would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks to the owners who make the great experience possible!
