Do you want to live in a spacious top-floor duplex surrounded by nature, golf courses and in short distance from central Reykjavik?
We are an Icelandic couple who are renting out our 175 m2 luxurious duplex apartment on the border of the city of Reykjavik. It was made in 2002 in modern style with quality designs, and it offers everything you will need, as well as a nice kitchen, 2 bedrooms. A 15 minute’s drive to the centrum of Reykjavik. 40 minutes’ drive to Keflavik international airport. 5-10 min drive to the next swimming pool (grafarvogslaug). 15-20 min drive to Reykjavik excursion which is the biggest excursion agency in Iceland. It has a beautiful panorama view Reykjavik. The house, heating is in the floor so the floors all comfortable to walk on. The apartment has marble flooring, the closets are made of mahogany and the kitchen is mahogany and granite.
One room with a King size bed and a private bathroom with a tub. The other room has Queen size bed. There are two bathrooms, a big kitchen area, fireplace and a living room. Outdoor is a 30 m2 terrace, a large barbecue grill and garden furniture.
To sum up: Close to nature, golf course, swimming pool, shopping center, movie theater, skating arena, bowling, sportsbar, overbuilt soccer stadium all in 3-4 min driving radius.
People staying for more then 4 days and less then 7 can ask for a quote to get a better price per night, as I can not put it in here on the site.

I am 32 years old and I am finishing my Bachelor Degree from the University of Aalborg. I am a lively fellow who likes to take on new and challenging projects. I have spent about eight years of my life abroad, mainly in Denmark but also in Germany and Switzerland. I lived in Denmark for seven years and in Germany for about seven months. I do well in Icelandic, Danish and English both verbally and in writing, in addition I can also manage in German, Norwegian and Swedish. I´m in Married to Dora D. Kristofersdottir who is just finishing her B.Sc in Psychology and we have a son 6 year, and 2 daughters - a 3 year old a 1 year old. I spend my free time with my family and on my hobbies. My interests are motion sport of all kind but mostly I practice soccer and squash.

Though the apartment is in the heart and center of down town Reykjavík, the house is hidden in between two streets and therefore has no street noise or any disturbances from the vibrant night live as the apartment is located in Reykjavik´s lively downtown area. Within 3 minutes walking distance you will find very good restaurants, cafés, museums, cinema, galleries, theater, library and an indoor swimming pool. Her you are in the heart of Reykjavik and on the next street you find Laugarvegur which is the main shopping street in down town Reykjavík and has a good but low cost grocery store. The name of the street this apartment is on is Grettisgata and if you walk a minute in the other direction from Laugarvegur you shortly come to Skólavörðustíg, a beautiful arty street full of culture and good food, and in a few minutes of strolling you arrive at Hallgrimskirkja; the biggest church in Iceland. The church is a great landmark and is visible from all over Reykjavik.
Different parking options are available in the area, from park houses to free street parking. Being Reykjavík's main street, parking at Laugavegur Street is not free on business hours, and it will cost about 1 USD (150 krona) per hour. Park houses will cost less than 50 cent (50-80 krona) per hour. As the apartment is located in the very heart of Reykjavík, in 30-40 minutes of easy walk you can get to most places in the city. The bus from the airport drops you off in BSI, the main bus and taxi station, a 10-15 minute walk from the apartment.
This is my parents place, and it is really beautiful, all the furniture is of top quality, they build this house them self in 2001 and build both floors, and then sold the lower one. This place is a perfect spot to enjoy your holiday, and especially new year due to the great view over the city, thereby seeing all the fireworks.
I stayed in Hrannar's place earlier this summer with my wife, our two year-old son, and my wife's parents. The apartment was fantastic - comfortable, clean, large, and perfectly located in Reykjavik. I really can't say enough about the location- within easy walking distance of almost everything in the city, during the day and night both. We had an amazing time.
We had a great time in Iceland and loved the rental. Its exactly as pics show. Very clean and great location. The owners were very helpful and made sure that our needs were met. We would def stay there again and recommended to others.

Electric wires were exposed and dangling at front door, broken sofa in living room Bathroom switch was taped to wall, bare light bulbs, no bath mat, shower awkwardly attached to side wall rather than at faucet end of tub Bare minimum dishes and tableware in kitchen, no coffee pot, no dish towel, dented refrigerator needs defrosting We had no room in 2 very small bedrooms to accommodate luggage for 4 persons, broken lamp in one and no lamp in other bedroom, shades did not fit, mismatched shabby linens and ill-fitting comforters We had to make our own beds !
Property was cleaned, but not completely renovated as advertised, a fire hazard regarding exposed wires This listing is inaccurate in photos and description and needs maintenance The owner was not available and could not be reached We would recommend to avoid booking this property
We loved our stay in Reykjavik. The location cannot be beat. We used it as homebase and had a rental car for our three days in Iceland. We drove all the way to the southeast side of the country to the glacier lagoon in one day (the midnight sun was helpful)! The apartment couldn't be in a better location in town. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants, etc. The area felt very safe. We did get a parking ticket the one day we slept in and forgot about the street parking during the day, so be aware!
The apartment itself was very nice with just the right amount of amenities. It's small, but completely do-able with plenty of storage space. There was an issue with water in the bathroom when we stayed, but the owner was planning to fix this after we left, so hopefully future renters won't have to deal with this.
The washer does its job, but it's a standard Europe washer/dryer combo, so don't expect it to actually dry your clothes. But there is a drying rack, so no worries.
We would stay here again! We had everything we would need in an apartment!
The four of us enjoyed our stay at Hrannar'a place. It's a very comfortable and clean apartment in a great location! Hrannar is very helpful and easy to deal with.
My wife and I along with two friends stayed here for two nights and couldn't have been happier. The location really is ideal to see all of Reykjavik. The apartment was very clean and organized with a great layout for privacy even when traveling with another couple. We were able to snag parking right on the street. I would recommend staying at this apartment for any length of time.
The apartment was terrific. It was conveniently located, within walking distance from the main street in Reykjavik, with easy to find street parking for our car rental. My two children, my husband, and I were all very comfortable. We cooked in the kitchen, used the laundry facilities, and enjoyed a very comfortable space. The owner was friendly and very responsive. All in all, we had a great stay!
