BIG ISLAND VINTAGE BEACH COTTAGE - NEAR HAPUNA BEACH

Hapuna Beach House Rental Photos and Description

Whimsical And Fun Beach Cabana In Kawaihae Village

Holiday Availability: DECEMBER IS STILL AVAILABLE UP THROUGH THE 27TH.

The scent of sweet pikake blossoms greets you on the entry path to Hale ‘Alani. Colorful Birds of Paradise and Bougainvillea flowers adorn the landscaping, accented by an expansive, blue ocean topped coastline view.

Feel right at home in this adorable cottage. Decorated with bright tropical colors, in an unworn vintage style, Hale ‘Alani invokes fun memories from the sixties and seventies... like walking onto the set of Mad Men, right down to the shag carpet.

Grab the cooler, orange beach chairs, and be at the Big Island's best white sand beaches in about a 3 minute drive! BBQ under the palm tree while watching the sunset, visit local restaurants, and then decide between touring the islands many must see sites, or simply relax and read a book in the hammock.

It is a two minute drive to Kawaihae for a few groceries, a six pack, or a bag of ice. Kawaihae has four great restaurants, too: the Blue Dragon, the Seafood Bar, Cafe Pesto and the Harbor Grill. Dance and listen to live music at the Blue Dragon just a mile away!

This 3 bedroom/ 1 bath home provides cozy, comfortable, accommodation for a family of six. The master bedroom has a King with a 3-in memory foam topper, the 2nd bedroom has a Queen, and the 3rd bedroom has 2 twins that can be converted to a King if preferred. Fully equipped with everything you need including TV and WiFi. While it is usually breezy, keeping the temperature averaging a comfortable 85°F (29°C) year round, there is an air conditioner in the living room should the trade winds take a break during your stay.

If you are looking for an affordable family vacation in Hawai‘i, Hale ‘Alani makes it possible!

About Rachel Orange

My daughter and her husband, just purchased this house for their Big Island vacations. The both are dedicated canoe paddlers and frequent the Big Island to visit family and compete in canoe races. They decided to call the house Hale ‘Alani (Orange House) as a fun play on their surname, Orange.

Rachel Orange purchased this house in 2013

Why Rachel Orange chose Hapuna Beach

Mr. and Mrs. Orange have family members in the Village and Rachel, my daughter, grew up on the Big Island. They both love the beach, the ocean and ocean sports. There is no other location this close to the beaches (other than expensive resort properties) that also offers an ocean view.

What makes this house unique

It is a two minute drive to Kawaihae for a few groceries, a six pack, or a bag of ice. Kawaihae has four great restaurants, too: the Blue Dragon, the Seafood Bar, Cafe Pesto and the Harbor Grill. Mr. & Mrs. Orange love to dance and listen to music and the Blue Dragon's live entertainment is just a mile away!

Aloha!

Enjoyed our stay at Hale ‘Alani! Beautiful beaches, fabulous view and everyone at Aloha Debbie Properties so helpful. Neighbors too who gave our car a boost when we left the lights on and drained our battery... oops! Hope to visit and stay again!

What an amazing vacation! The house was wonderful, so comfortable and perfect for the 2 of us. The location was perfect making it so easy to get to all the great beaches, up country, artist galleries, Farmer's markets, hiking and so much more! I ran every morning from the house as the sun was rising down the Queen K highway ending up at for a beach run at Hapuna Beach...what a way to start my day. We enjoyed fresh fish almost every night from the fish market down in the village, the barbecue was perfect! Dining outside is a must, the sunsets from the house are amazing! Don't miss having lunch from the taco truck in the fish markets parking lot, amazing! Everyone at Aloha Debbie was wonderful. This property is a must stay and we can't wait to go back.

Hawaii on the cheap.

Our family found this house a cheaper option than the nearby hotels on our last visit to the Big Island. The location is private, breezy and sunny. We really prefer being self contained versus being trapped at a resort property, stores are close by, and the BBQ on the patio was a nightly staple. Cell phone coverage (Verizon) was good and the WiFi fast.
The highlight of our trip was taking a boat from Kona to see the lava flowing into the ocean after sunset. We also went snorkeling on the reef at Puako which was amazing compared to Oahu's dive spots. Hapuna beach is a beautiful white sand beach, sparsely populated, with flat, sheltered swimming that we spent most days at.
I heartily recommend the 'Orange' house to families on a budget. Stock up at the supermarket, then spend each day at the beach, rest and repeat!
