Hibiscus Hale can be found just outside Waikiki. It is close enough to Waikiki that you can feel you are a part of things but far enough that you can choose to hide away. The generously sized Studio is an oasis from the hubbub of Waikiki, steps away from the beach, and allows you to feel at home while on vacation.
Please note that there is no on site parking and there are two flights of stairs to the property.
My family has been in Hawaii for 8 generations. Growing up here was a dream but I also love to travel the world. I have two daughters in England who I try to visit often. Renting out my home allows me to share Hawaii with you and travel to see them.
Leah purchased this studio in 2001
I was fortunate to find my dream home just up the street from my great-aunt. The neighborhood is friendly and safe and the sunsets are amazing!
The short walk to the beach and the park. The neighborhood invites you to be outside as see the beauty Hawaii has to offer.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the edge of Kapiolana Park in Waikiki. It was a one bedroom cabin that was wonderfully set up having all that was needed for our week there. The owners lived above and were helpful if we needed anything. From 2 Mainers
This was my first trip to Hawaii and these accommodations could not have been better! Not only is the place in a charming neighborhood, it is a short walk to an oceanfront park. Getting to where the action is in Waikiki is also a snap-just a nice, longer, leisurely walk into town. And...walking up the hill at the end of a busy day was always inspiring-to look up and realize that I was staying at the foot of Diamond Head-wow!
The apartment is just perfect, clean and comfortable, as well as quiet and secluded. I was traveling alone and always felt perfectly safe. It was so nice to have the use of a full kitchen for simple meals and a washer and dryer. The hosts were extremely cordial and the few questions I had were answered immediately. I certainly hope to return next year! Mahalo!
Nestled at the foot of Diamond Head, it was a perfect place to relax and unwind. This quiet, clean space is perfect for a couple. If you want the excitement of Waikiki, it is available and within easy reach. I prefer this quieter end. It is a two minute walk to a small park and sandy beach frequented mainly by surfers and a few locals, and more crowded beaches are about a 10 minute walk away. Shopping and restaurants are close by. Hosts are available for suggestions if you are new to Honolulu, but never intrusive. Perfect for those who enjoy waking up without having to go out for breakfast, or if you want a quiet evening of a home cooked meal. I get tired of going out to eat for every meal, and enjoy cooking a light meal while on vacation. Besides swimming, you are close to Kapolani Park for running and city tennis courts.
We stayed four nights here on our trip to Oahu for our 10 year anniversary and we loved it! The location was great; far enough away from Waikiki to be super quiet and peaceful, yet close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. It is in a gorgeous neighborhood and very near several bus stops if you don't have a car. Everything about the studio was well thought out, with great shelf space, nice bathroom, kitchen, and a super comfy bed. We loved having a washer and dryer in the unit as well. Wonderful huge windows gave us lots of fresh air and perfect night temperatures. The place was very clean and homey too, we enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. The only suggestions for improvement would be to have a couple more towels, maybe even beach towels since that is not necessarily something all travelers will bring. And although tucked away with lots of gorgeous trees and plants, we felt it might be nice to have drapes or blinds of some sort for privacy at night. Overall a wonderful place, quick and easy communication with the owner, and we would definitely stay here again!
I had such a wonderful time staying here. It was the perfect station for me to relax in between activities at the beach and elsewhere. And it was so easy to go anywhere from that perfect location on the slopes of Diamondhead tucked in and away from all the busy urban atmosphere of Honolulu and Waikiki.
This is a very peaceful tucked away studio in the cute, safe Gold Coast neighborhood. One block from the bottom end of Kapiolani Park, walking distance to surf spots (tongs and others), beaches and Waikiki, yet far enough away so it's a quiet retreat. A/C, W/D, very clean and updated.
Awesome for a single person or couple.
Has all the basics - cutlery, dishes, towels etc - but expect to buy all cooking necessities if you cook (oil, spices, sugar).
While there is street parking available, it can be a challenge to find unless it's late. However, parking for free a couple of blocks away at Kapiolani was fairly easy, unless you have a lot to carry. Events in the park or swell makes parking even more challenging.
A very short walk to three amazing beaches; Kaimana, Diamond Head, and the world famous Waikiki Beach, Kapiolani Park a great picnic spot or area to play catch, tennis courts, the Waikiki Aquarium, and the Honolulu Zoo. A little bit further will get you into Waikiki Proper with a huge variety of restaurant, leisure and shopping options!
