Trinidad House Rental Photos and Description
2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Home with Views of Local Surf Break
Welcome to the ShellSeeker, a luxurious, private oceanfront home perched on an elevated bluff overlooking Camel Rock and the Trinidad Coast. The 180 degree view encompasses miles of sweeping swell lines, the city and harbor lights, and distant Humboldt County shorelines. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath exclusive seaside property is family owned and operated by Salty’s Supply Company, the Bait, Tackle, and Surf Shop located in downtown Trinidad that has been serving surfers and fisherman of the north coast for over 30 years. The ShellSeeker includes access to Salty’s rental inventory and a long list of amenities that will make you feel right at home.
Experience true Humboldt County Coastal Living, and enjoy the Redwood Coast in first-class style. With the ShellSeeker as your base camp and Salty’s as your local support, take the opportunity to discover a hidden side of Humboldt. The ShellSeeker is spacious and efficient, yet elegantly simple. There’s a view of the surf from every room, a well-equipped kitchen, deluxe bathrooms, and pillow soft queen beds.
No noise here. Just sounds of the sea, the bell and whistle buoys in Trinidad Harbor, or the ocean breeze. Few neighbors and plenty of boat or RV parking. The interior design of the home is nautically influenced. The open living room includes a premium sound system, a large flat-screen TV, and a cozy fireplace stocked with dry doug-fir firewood.
The kitchen is outfitted for 8 and stocked with plenty of cookware, spices, and appliances (and a vita-mix juicer) to inspire even the most modest chefs. Locally roasted organic coffee from Muddy Waters Coffee Co. is always kept stocked.
The bathrooms are like personal, mini-spas. The master includes a blue-water and horizon view from the jacuzzi tub, walk in shower, and premium finishes. No details were left out by the designer.
You can’t escape the ocean’s grip from any room of the house. Even on a chilly summer day just pick a room, grab a blanket, and cozy up next to the window and watch the whales pass by, the surfers down below, or the fishermen troll up and down the coast. You can also follow aircraft as it approach the coast and descends to the runway, see the lights of Arcata and Eureka to the south and clear down to Cape Mendocino on a good day. To the North, Trinidad Head frames in the Bay and Harbor view. Enjoy a fresh salmon barbecue from the patio as you unwind from an evening surf or sunset walk on the beach.
Without a doubt, the ShellSeeker’s claim-to-fame is the birds-eye-view of the surf at Camel Rock and Moonstone Beach. Surfers will appreciate witnessing how the tides influence the break and knowing when the time is right to paddle out. Be the first in the line-up, or wait until moments before sunset to have the waves all to yourself. Study the waves from the bluff, the couch, the kitchen, or bedroom. Traveling without gear? No worries. Qualifying ShellSeeker guests are welcome to use Salty’s rental wetsuits and boards.
The ShellSeeker sleeps 4 in beds, includes 2 extra fold-out sleeping pads, and for a little extra (and subject to availability) we can provide you with an adorable vintage 1970 Scottsman 14-ft Camper Trailer on-site that sleeps 2.

The ShellSeeker is family owned and operated by Salty's Supply Co.. Surfers Journal put it this way: 'Surfers learn early to position themselves to best enjoy their circumstances. Whether in the water or on dry land, for a surfer it's always in relation to the waves.' Properties like this are one of a kind, and precisely what fisherman and surfers look for when scouting the conditions, searching for the salmon fleet offshore, and making the most of their time on the water. This due-west, birds-eye view of the Trinidad Coastline is unparalleled.
From recommendations to local restaurants, reservation assistance, trails to explore in the nearby Redwood National Forest, times and dates of local Farmer’s Markets, or places to go to escape the fog, feel free to lean on Salty’s for assistance. Along with info sharing, the best part about the partnership is that qualifying ShellSeeker guests are welcome to use the full line of rental inventory available at the shop including surfboards and wetsuits, bicycles, and fishing equipment. Don’t pack it. We have it. We’re connected. That’s just one of the many reasons you’ll find Salty’s and the ShellSeeker to be the perfect combination for your North Coast vacation.
