Complete stem to stern refit of a classic Chris Craft Roamer has been completed, and you are invited to be one of the first guests to experience the charm and character of this boat from a bygone era! Built in 1965, this Chris Craft was crown jewel of their offerings for this year. At 57 feet long and 16 feet wide she commands quite a presence, and you and your family will feel like royalty when you step aboard.
Asylum, as the boat is now named can fit up to 12 guests in 3 private staterooms, one dinette conversion in the galley, sleep sofa in the living room and air mattress in the helm. Each of these areas provides privacy and personal space for all aboard. Both the master bedroom and bunk room in the bow have their own en suite heads while the vip stateroom and the other spaces share a common head. With three bathrooms on the boat, getting ready to head out for a day of sight seeing is not a scheduling nightmare . Additionally there are showers and restrooms on shore that offer more flexibility.
The yacht is comprised of 4 levels, so if you anyone in your group has difficulty with stairs, this may not be an ideal choice for your stay. You enter in to the boat through the main deck level. As you walk up the stairs from the dock you can proceed one of the three ways. A walk down the companionway on the right leads to the sunning foredeck. With lounge chairs and a built in bench this area is sure to be a favorite with your group. A turn left at the top of the stairs leads you to the aft deck of the boat. Here you will find a bistro set, perfect for that morning cup of coffee, or evening glass of wine. Adjacent to this area is the ladder to the flybridge. On the flybridge you will find built in bench seating surrounding the captains station and additional lounge chairs. From this position you will have a commanding view of the surrounding areas.
Proceeding forward through the sliding door of the helm from the top of the stairs you will enter the main cabin of the boat. You may feel like you have been transported back in time. With a built in mahogany couch at the rear, table and two chairs in the middle and captains chairs and the helm station, this may become your favorite spot to hang out on the boat (i know it is mine) windows surround this area allowing for an uninterrupted 360 view of the marina. With a small fridge and sink on this level, you may never have to leave :)
Heading through the boat from the helm you go down another flight of stairs to the main salon. Soothing paint colors and pendant lighting set the mood in this space. A sofa and the occasional chairs offer a great spot to catch up on some reading.
From this room you can either head forward to the bow of the boat or towards the rear (aft). Heading towards the bow you step down a few more stairs to the galley. The kitchen on this boat comes complete with an electric oven with a 3 burner cooktop. Full sized vintage restored fridge, double sink, microwave, toaster and coffee maker. Opposite the applianced side of the galley is a dinette table with seating for 4-6 this dinette converts to a full sized bed easily.
Ahead of the galley is the crew bunk room. Two twin bunks and a full bathroom are in this space. This room also contains a cool feature from the time when this boat was actually used with a crew. There is a ladder that allows access to the bow sun deck through a skylight. Now it can be a convenient short cut for bringing drinks topsides.
Going towards the rear of the boat from the main salon you will descend a few stairs to a mahogany walled companionway. On your left hand side is the guest toilet with a marble sink, this room has access to the shower joining the two rear heads. On the right is the vip stateroom with 2 side by side twin bed bunks, the upper bunk is on hinges can be folded up to the ceiling for more access to the lower bunk if it is not needed for sleeping. Further back is the master suite. With a queen sized bed, a large closet and an en suite bath. Good luck determining who gets this space :)
The refit of this boat was done over a period of 6 months with no room of this boat being left out. All of the interior wood was stripped of paint and revarnished, all electrical and plumbing systems redone, all flooring, furniture and bedding was also replaced. Some touches we added for your creature comfort to bring this aging beauty up to the 21st century include memory foam mattresses on the beds, rain fall shower heads, custom leather wallpaper, and unique floor finishes.
With free parking and free water taxi service to downtown, you will see this is the best value around for you and your crew.
We are still putting the finishing touches on this rental and will have updated photos of the boat very shortly. The pictures used in this add show the boat prior to the extensive remodeling work. You can be assured you will be amazed when you see the completed project! - ryan
