The owner lives in the house above the studio.

I moved to Marin County from the east coast, because I wanted to be in a beautiful location that allowed you easy access to culture, sports and nature. I have found all that here!

This house is surrounded by eucalyptus trees, but you can still see the water. Mt Tamalpais's peak looms in view from every level. Easy access to 101, ferry and town while still feeling like you're in nature. Great walking and biking. The water front is just down the hill along with great restaurants and beautiful views. What's not to love!

Ideal choice for us!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for three nights in this quaint studio apartment in classy Sausalito and loved every moment. The studio is located in a quiet neighborhood within a 10-15 minute walk of downtown Sausalito. Its well equipped with all the comforts of home if you just want to spend the days gazing at the water through the trees, or if you prefer to use it as a base to explore the bay area like we did. Muir Woods is a 10 minute drive! We were there before it opened and avoided all the crowds. We walked into the heart of downtown, rented bikes, and rode across the Golden Gate Bridge. Another day we took the ferry from Sausalito to SF, had lunch in Chinatown, and were back to have dinner in Sausalito. The studio was spotless and the bed comfortable. My wife and I were celebrating twenty years of marriage and this was the perfect place to start our Northern California adventure.

Artist Stay during Sausalito Art Festival

  • 5 of 5
This little place was a cozy home away from home dream. Clean, well stocked and easy access
to all of Sausalito. The owner was warm, friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay
the most pleasant I have had in a long time. I will be back and will recommend highly to
anyone traveling to this area.

Loved Staying in Sausalito

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this location to other travelers. The owner was very helpful to us during our vacation, and we loved being able to walk to downtown Sausalito from her rental. The pictures definitely reflect the apartment's appearance, and we found it very well maintained. Our only recommendation would be that the apartment needs a coffee pot.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Actually there is a Bodum French press for coffee, but if you're not familiar with them I can see why you didn't know what it was. They make the best coffee and are simple to use. Once you use one you're hooked!

Jeanne and Frank

My husband and I traveled to San Francisco for our niece’s wedding. As much as I enjoyed visiting the city I am glad we stayed at Marsha’s in Sausalito. The studio apartment is just as it appears on VRBO. It is a perfect refuge from the city pace and the deck and lovely gardens are inviting if the weather allows. The fireplace adds warmth and ambiance and we needed it during the August evenings. We were able to park our car in her driveway and the apartment entrance has easy access just steps away. Downtown Sausalito is lovely and Marsha left a list of dining suggestions that helped us find some good eats. It is close to Muir Woods, Marin Trails and Napa and Sonoma Valley. If you are looking for a weekend getaway or a longer stay this rental can’t be beat and the price is right! The owner clearly loves to travel herself and looks forward to meeting her guests and ensuring that they enjoy their stay.

Perfect Retreat

  • 5 of 5
We spent four nights in the studio & while it is compact Marsha has thought of everything you could need, very clean & comfortable bed, easy access to a good internet service, small cooker & fridge with a sea view from the balcony, we loved the location & will plan to use the studio again on any future trips to San Francisco
