Majestic Mill Valley forests serve as the backdrop for this home. Last house at the end of a cul-de-sac in a quiet private sub-division with nearly an acre of beautifully landscaped land with organic greenhouse and kids' dream playground Robin Caruso style with bridges, forest paths, zip line, slack line, rope/platform/ tree swings, sandbox, play structure with slide, large wood climbing wall, redwood tree house deck, 5 areas to sit, relax or dine with patios chairs and tables, picnic table for the kids, and a seasonal creek bordered by gorgeous Italian skipper stones.
On our acre of land we placed 30 different life-like animal statues that the kids can spot like Where's Waldo on their own safari hunt on the property. On the Internet they can find photos, videos and a description of those animals natural habitats and what makes them special. It is a nice experiential learning experience for children in a fun and imaginative way. They truly look real because it is such fine craftsman ship.
Hardwood floors are throughout entire home. Upstairs area features a open office area adjacent to the large foyer and overlooking outdoor seating area with patio furniture. Chefs kitchen includes a gas range, stainless steel dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, large prep island, tons of pantry and storage space and opens up to the breakfast area and family room. Family room is set up for 5:1 surround sound with room for a big screen. There is a spacious half bathroom for the upstairs area. Several large skylights tremendously brighten kitchen and living room. Formal dining room and living room have views of woods and playground.
Master bedroom features walk-in closet, private bathroom with jacuzzi-tub and separate shower, two adjacent bedrooms share a Jack and Jill style bathroom. Final bedroom has double french doors that open to a deck overlooking the yard and forest with no neighbors in sight. 4 of the 5 bedrooms have extra tall ceilings for a more spacious feeling and all windows look out into the woods. All mattresses are covered in dust mite and bed bug protective sheets. Bedroom mattress description: master - king, girls room - twin loft bed and full futon, boys room - full loft bed (additional twin if needed), 4th: 2 twins (can be made into king), 5th: queen (additional twin and crib if needed). 3 full bathrooms floor with bedroom and 1/2 bath updstairs. Sleeps 11 people in beds.
Additional home features include: fully networked high speed internet throughout the house, high tech alarm system with rapid response from security company (and neighbors), speakers in the ceiling in 3 rooms, gas fireplace in the formal living room, and a gorgeous new custom made cedar large wet and dry sauna.
Double size 400 square feet garage is carpeted and used as a play area for the kids full of toys. High chair, infant swing and baby toys are available for the little ones. Outside garage is a stainless steel gas grill with mini fridge and a natural slate dining table seats 6, as well as additional seating.
Home is 4,000 square feet. An additional 2,000 square feet of storage in basement keeps this house clutter free with a peaceful design flow throughout. Because it is at the base of Mount Tamalpais, one of the most beautiful places on earth, it has tons of hiking and biking trails and easy access to the beaches. Incredibly it is only 12 minutes to the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, 30 minutes door to door to downtown San Francisco and 10 minutes to Muir Woods.
I am the mom of our active 4 person family and a socially conscious entrepreneur in the wellness industry. I have lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and feel it is a smart decision for the environment to share our large beautiful home and its property nestled in the Mt. Tam woods so that our guests can connect with nature and its glorious wild life (and even have the children connect with our faux zoo animals so the can appreciate our planet's other inhabitants).
We often host friends from around the world since we have lived abroad many years, visited over 50 countries, speak multiple languages and love being immersed in other cultures. We are willing to offer our home to other professional families looking for a vacation retreat with a zen ambiance and are interested in building friendships with new people like us who share common interests.
We often make our home available for guests during the times we are travelling around the world, so we consider our guests to be more like lovely house sitters than renters. It is such a special place that we want to share it with others looking for a place to relax and replenish.
100% of the proceeds from staying in our home are spent on environmentally restoring the surrounding property with its native trees, grasses, plants, and flowers and removing those that don't belong. It costs $5,000 just to cut down ONE large non-native, intrusive and environmentally damaging eucalyptus tree and replace it with an Oak or Redwood tree. Eucalyptus and scotch broom plants rob the nutrients from other native plants and are a severe fire hazard to our neighbors and community at large. Unfortunately the government doesn't have the funds to pay for their removal, and most home owners can't afford the costs. We have dozens of Eucalyptus trees on the property, so we have our work cut out for us.

The minute you walk into our home it will feel a special level of comfort. It is family and pet friendly and furnished in a style that is warm, inviting and casual. Several skylights bring in the natural light and the kids can explore the wooded playground and the property since it is surrounded by 10 acres of land.
Crystals infuse a spiritual ambience that help diffuse stress and ground you to the beautiful environment. It is a great place to escape the hectic place of modern life.
It is very rare to have the type of property we do that is in a lovely community, yet positioned in a way that curtains aren't even required since all the windows look at the beautiful Mount Tamalpais forest. We fell in love with the home because of its open and breezy layout where the kids can play and run around easily and outside we know they are safe and secure because of the lovely community.
Since this is a valuable home we are careful to do a background check on our renters. We require that we become friends on Facebook, Linkedin on a professional level and receive a copy of all adults driver's licenses. We also need to speak with all adults for a few minutes so that we can be sure to design a rental experience that fits everyone's needs the best we can.
We only allow total renters to equal 7 people or less. Due to the quiet neighborhood, no parties or loud noise are allowed at the home. It is an ideal setting for one family and we do not rent to groups of adults.
We have an active neighborhood watch on our streets and our neighbors are usually around and on the look out for any suspicious behavior. Because we are on a cul-de-sac, with only one way out our little sub community, it is is generally safer than other areas. We still have a very high tech security alarm system in our home with every window and door alarmed. It has a rapid emergency response and neighbors quick to jump to action if needed. It truly is a marvelous place to live.
We have an organic crib and mattress and high chair if needed, just alert us in advance so we can set up for you.
Several yoga, dance and workout studios within just 2 miles of our home as well as nearby spas if you are looking for a massage or other treatments.
