Superbly renovated to create the perfect holiday home it offers a relaxing and luxurious setting for getting away from it all. Broadmea Barn can be booked together with adjoining property Broadmea Stable to accommodate groups of up to 18 people. Conveniently situated for day excursions to the beautiful scenery of the Lake District and history of Hadrian's Wall.

Broadmea Barn has been newly renovated creating a stunningly beautiful open plan layout on three levels. The result is perfectly relaxing with natural stone, and exposed wooden beams bringing the true character of the building to the fore. On the lower level, there are four bedrooms, two with en-suite facilities, a third bathroom with luxurious double ended bath, large welcome entrance and utility area. On the second level, there is a fabulous well-equipped spacious dining kitchen with vaulted beamed ceiling and seating for 12. Stairs lead to 5th bedroom, sauna room/wc/shower and split mezzanine with two light and airy galleried sitting areas overlooking dining area below. From the graveled patio area outside you can view the glorious countryside whilst listening to the stream burbling at the bottom of the garden.

On the border between Northumberland and Cumbria, Broadmea Barn lies in one of England's designated Areas Of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is conveniently situated for day excursions to the beautiful scenery of the Lake Districit 30 miles and history of Hadrian's Wall 10 miles. Further a field, the vibrant night life and shopping in Newcastle, the coastal regions of Northumberland and even Harry Potter's home of Hogwarts at Alnwick Castle are a great way to spend a day. On the doorstep, the renowned Pennine Way, the South Tyne Trail and the Pennine Cycle Route offer mile upon mile of easy access to breathtaking countryside. Nenthead and Killhope Mining museums 15 - 30 miles give an insight into this areas rich mining heritage. There is a pony trekking centre 30 min drive and outdoor heated swimming pool and sports facility 15 min drive. Just 5 miles away is the small town of Alston offering pubs, shopping and a steam engine railway. Local pub 1 mile with good food.

    A deposit of 25% is required on booking. The balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival date.

    Broadmea Barn and Stable are available for booking all year round.
    7 night bookings are from Saturday to Saturday.

    Short breaks of 3 or 4 nights are available during off peak periods.
    3 Night Weekend breaks start on Fridays.
    4 Night Mid Week breaks start on Mondays.

    Arrival time is from 3pm. Departure time 10am.
    Pets accepted on request. Up to two in Broadmea Barn. One in Broadmea Stable. £25 fee per pet on arrival.

Stunning barn conversion

Broadmea Barn exceeded all expectations. As soon as we walked in through the door the 'Wow' factor hit us. Such a stylish property, yet comfortable and homely. Trish gave us a very warm welcome - it was lovely to meet her after all the email communication we'd had!

The property was very clean and warm - a great welcome as it was very cold and snowing when we arrived. Loved the underfloor heating and the heated towel rails in the bathroom and shower rooms. It was great for our party of 11 - plenty of room for all of us and the galleried seating areas overlooking the kitchen and dining areas were perfect relaxing areas.

Some great walks from the property - South Tyne Trail, Pennine Way, Isaac's Tea Trail and a short walk to the nearby Kirkstyle Inn - not to be missed!

Highly recommended!

Fabulous stay!

The barn is stunning, far more gorgeous than the photos give it credit for......! There is everything you could possibly need for a wonderfully relaxing stay- there were 10 adults in our party and there was more than enough space for us to all chill out separately and then spend time together when we liked. Trish was extremely helpful and welcoming, having endless patience as our group arrived in dribs and drabs over the weekend, and providing an excellent recommendation in Kirkstyle Inn- the food was delicious. The kitchen was well equipped for a large group and the underfloor heating and fire were a welcome touch after a bracing walk in the cold! The views and surrounding countryside are absolutely amazing and well worth the trip over Alston Moors, which is an experience in itself.
All in all we had an truly wonderful, relaxing break and hope to be back again in the near future!

Stunning property...highly recommended!

I have just spent a wonderful weekend in Broadmea Barn celebrating my partners 30th Birthday with this family, which consisted of two children, nine adults and three Labradors. This is a stunning property which has been built and maintained to a very high standard. Each room is spacious, light, clean and free of clutter. The pictures and description really do not do the barn justice! The kitchen provides all that you would require for cooking for a large group and the sauna is the icing on top of the cake. Patricia and her family provide a very high standard of customer service. She returns your calls when booking and is there when you arrive to show you how the facilities work. This location is right in the heart of the countryside without the tourist trap of the Lake District. At the time we arrived there was snow on the ground but the barn was easily accessible with well maintained roads. I would highly recommend this property to friends and look forward to a return visit for more family celebrations in the future.

Excellent - Great value for money

I and ten others visited Broadmea Barn this February to celebrate two birthdays. We stayed at the accommodation for three nights and loved every minute of it. The barn conversion is stunning and well equipped with all the facilities we required.
Over the weekend we enjoyed a lovely walk in the hills, a visit to the local pub, a meal and night out in Alston and we even had the privilege to be invited to the local farmers party at Alston House, which we recommend visiting if you want a meal.
Not one of the group had any complaints, the owners we very welcoming and provided great insight and communication prior to booking, on arrival and during our stay.
Without any hesitation I would recommend this to any groups or families wanting to spend time in a stunning property and in fantastic rural surroundings.
