YOU WILL LOVE THIS CONDO and its spectacular views of Columbia River from almost every window. Watch the ships from your living room couch or kitchen table. It is quiet, peaceful, tastefully decorated, and very relaxing. Come, be refreshed and rejuvenated by the experience.
The condo offers a rare combination of great views, closeness to the river and proximity to Starbucks and Safeway for your convenience…
Hard to beat watching the ships from your couch and listening to the sea lions. You WILL see the sea lions during the day. You WILL hear the sea lions during the night.
This bright, non-smoking, 810 square ft condo has 2 1/2 bedrooms with : One queen (River View from the bed), one full and one twin bed (Great View from the bed , up to the Astoria-Megler bridge and beyond on a clear day). One bathroom with a jacuzzi tub.
The well equipped, full size kitchen has most amenities you have at home including a full stove, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. The kitchen has absolutely stunning views of Columbia River.
Take just a short walk to the scenic waterfront walkway, the nearby restaurants, or a longer one to the movie theater . Walk to the Astoria trolley that runs all summer and takes you into downtown and cruise ship docks in historic Uniontown and the old canneries.
Drive a short distance to downtown for shopping, or Sunday market and open air summer concerts.
Hike to Astoria Column on steep, wooded trails – your reward are the absolutely incredible views of the city of Astoria, Youngs Bay/Saddle Mountain and the mouth of the Columbia.
Health care professional/businesswoman born in Europe and living in Portland, bought the house with the desire to retire in Astoria, away from the frantic life-style of a bigger city.
Loved restoring - what used to be a historical - 1904 Victorian and learning about the rich history of Astoria.
Joana Olaru purchased this condo in 2006
A great place by the water that helps one forget about their day to day grind. The perfect retreat for anyone who enjoys a small town with a rich history. Plus, one can enjoy the great restaurants right on the water and the old Victorian house feel with all the modern amenities.
The house is literally walking distance from many stores, pubs and restaurants. With a gorgeous view of the water and the ability to hear the sea lions from your room.
Astoria (at the mouth of the Columbia) is absolutely incredible and the views are breathtaking.
It is also known for its restaurants, shopping and antiquing. Astoria (and its surroundings) has a wonderful balance between man and nature.
My husband and I love hiking the wondrous woodsy trails or walking along the river.
My husband is also fascinated looking out at the Columbia River from the condo windows, with a glass of wine, and checking to see what ships had moored, gone upriver or out to sea.
We booked this unit last spring, hoping to find a cozy spot to settle for a month of reading, walking and exploring the town. We also wanted a Columbia River view. We found this listing and took a chance. So glad we did. Although the weather was stormy about half the time, we were very comfortable enjoying the weather from the inside. The convenience of having Safeway just down the hill with a Starbucks was icing on the cake. Although we had intended to eat out more, we found that using the nice kitchen to make things for ourselves worked well. For those of you who want to take time at the coast during the winter or early spring this unit is a great solution.
It was a very nice house with victorian era furniture. The view is beautiful and the city is pleasant and not too far from the beach. There was also great weather which is a plus.
I loved the location. I was able to walk down the street to get anything I needed from Safeway. Nightlife was a little farther down the road. During the day walking by the water was spectacular and the ship wreck at Fort Stevens was a great beach to spend the day on.
My only complaints were the sound of sea lions at night but that is not in anyone's control.
