Castro Valley is a friendly, peaceful unincorporated town, populated by about 60,000 people, and located in the heart of the Greater Bay Area of Northern California. It is a 'bedroom community' nestled in a valley surrounded by rolling hills just 25 miles and 30 minutes southeast of San Francisco.
This guest apartment caters to those looking for stays of at least one week or longer. It is a 500-square foot, second-level apartment attached to a single-family home and is accessed via its own private entrance and deck. The home is located atop a hill in a quiet neighborhood on the north side of Castro Valley and looks out on a natural setting of pine trees and ivy often visited by a family of 'resident' deer.
It has been completely renovated/redecorated with new paint, carpeting, tile, laminate flooring and fixtures throughout. The light-filled apartment features a large leather sectional with seating for 5, a glass-topped cafe table for 4 with matching Baker's rack, an entertainment center with a 32' flat screen TV and a DVD player. Free WiFi is available upon request.
The full-kitchen offers a refrigerator, microwave oven, stove, dishwasher, and is set-up for light housekeeping with dishes, glasses, cooking and eating utensils and other basic necessities such as coffee, tea, salt and pepper, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, etc. The queen bedroom is appointed in a lovely Asian theme and has both a dresser and a wall of closet space. The newly tiled bathroom includes a tub/shower combination and a large pedestal sink. All bed and bath linens are provided.
Major Bay Area cities of San Francisco, Berkeley, Oakland, San Jose, and Walnut Creek are minutes away by car, by bus and by BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit). Two BART stations are within a 10-minute drive with San Francisco within 30. The Castro Valley Community Center with its large park and play area is within two blocks; the Lake Chabot Recreational Area with fishing, boating, and hiking is one mile away. A variety of shopping opportunities are available as are many restaurants for all tastes.

Hello! We are looking forward to welcoming you to our home. The main house was built in 1954 and purchased by my parents the year after. My husband and I moved into my family home a little over 30 years ago and have made many improvements to the house and yard, including this one-bedroom apartment. Over the years it has been used by our sons before (and after) moving out, by friends and relatives for overnight stays to several weeks. It has served as a wonderful guest suite while affording privacy to both our guests and ourselves. Now newly renovated and remodeled, we hope you will enjoy it.

A refundable damage deposit of $350 is required at the time of reservation.
Rental fees are due in full 30 days before the rental period begins.
Returning guests and active military personnel will be offered a 10% discount on rental fees with our thanks.
