Hospitality provided by chef-owner, Melissa Flynn, who will always have a complimentary treat waiting for your arrival. She’s a longtime Seattle resident who knows a thing or two about hospitality, culinary arts, beer and a local favorite entertainment: burlesque. She is a traveler and has enjoyed staying in many diverse places worldwide. A third generation NW Innkeeper, of sorts, this is her first guesthouse and she is thrilled to share it with tourists of the world! Her property is a sentimental place she has continued to own and maintain for nearly 20 years. It's a delightful, comfortable space in a great Seattle location.

Melissa Flynn purchased this bungalow in 1995

The property was purchased nearly twenty years ago when Melissa was given the first-choice to buy as a tenant. The great neighborhood and charm plus added bonus of it being income property made it an irresistible opportunity.

Location, location, location! There is so much to do in Seattle and this nicely appointed, cozy guesthouse is accessible to everywhere.

Perfectly Seattle

  • 5 of 5
This home is just what I think of when I think of Seattle...nice neighborhood...small yard...small (but not too small) house. The layout of the house was very nice with everything we could possibly need for the kitchen and bathroom. Very cute with comfortable homey feel. For our purposes the location was perfect as we were there to see our daughter who lives in the Green Lake area.

Amazing Location, Adorable Accommodations & Simply Overall Perfect!!

Amazing Location, Adorable Accommodations & Simply Overall Perfect!!

Never having been to Seattle, I was very hesitant about booking a VRBO rental. We were visiting for a wedding and wanted to make sure the location was within walking distance of the venues. Not only were we perfectly situated a few blocks away from everything, Melissa was incredibly helpful with directions and recommendations. The house is stocked with anything and everything you may need, even cushions and baskets for the garden swing and table outside. I can't get over how wonderfully this vintage cottage is decorated and Melissa personally added welcoming touches for guests, such as fresh flowers from the garden and home-made lemon cookies (that were quickly devoured upon arrival). We are so in love with Seattle, Ballard especially, and we promised our newlywed friends we are going to make an annual trip to Ballard. We couldn't imagine staying anywhere else come 2015.

Super convenient, and charming!

  • 5 of 5
We selected Meliss's guest house in part due to its proximity to family; for that, it was perfect. Ballard is a charming destination in itself, and Melissa's home was just as described in the listing. The street is busy, but even with the windows open, it was quiet inside, and with the bedroom at the back, there were no noise issues at all. Great to be able to have breakfasts (and certainly other meals, had we chosen to do so) right there; kitchen is fully functional. It was a great stay; we hope to be back!

My husband and I had a wonderful time in Melissa's home. She was so kind to leave us yummy treats and comfortable accommodations. We were able to easily walk to Ballard (1 mile) for breakfast and dinner. It was also really close to a great grocery store. We really enjoyed our stay.

Charming and great location

We had a great stay at Melissa's Ballard bungalow. The two of us were very comfortable although you could easily have more stay. It was well stocked and very well cleaned. Ballard was great to stay in and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Fantastic Stay!

  • 5 of 5
We had a lovely time staying at the Guesthouse. It is very clean and comfy and just as described in the listing. Melissa was very thoughtful and left us some treats on arrival and lots of info on the local area. The guesthouse is in a great location for local amenities and attractions. We also made use of the BBQ in the back garden. It was a great alternative to a hotel and I would definitely recommend it. Thanks Melissa.
