Our 4-story mountain retreat is charming enough for two and spacious enough for twelve
Imagine waking up on top of the world with the red orb of the sun rising over the expanse of plains that spread out before you. The mountains shine golden in the west, and the huge windows on every side bathe you in light. You slip on to the porch and into the hot tub to ease into the day. The golden experience continues in the sun-drenched kitchen. Out on the lawn there are wild deer grazing. They raise their heads to look at you as you walk by but do not run away. Nature has a certain harmony here.
Strategically located in a natural setting close to town it is your call if you travel ten minutes into all that Boulder has to offer, deeper into the wilderness to explore the Rocky Mountains, or just stay home and read, watch a movie or play pool with family and friends.

We came to Boulder after searching far and wide for the right place for us. After our third and fourth children were born we moved just up the road but we maintain a close relationship to the property through our sheep and alpacas who still live there.
Jennifer purchased this house in 2003
We love this house for its location. At once we feel peaceful and in nature, but if we forget something at the store we are close enough to run back to it. All the benefits that go with being in a university town have kept us here.
The house won us because it is really solid. All the wood and light really set it apart from all the others we looked at and the south-facing exposure with all the views made us feel on top of the world.
It lived up to every expectation we had. Views are great. Plenty of room and beds. Perfect distance from Boulder and Pearl St. It is a little dated. But everything works and it is in great shape! Me and my friends were actually excited that it wasn't in pristine condition with new carpet etc.. That way we wouldn't have to be worried about any spills or other slight mishaps :) Overall.... I have the feeling we will be back next year if that tells you anything. Colorado is amazing
P.S. There are a lot of stairs in this place. If you have lots of elderly that need places to sleep. This place is not for you. I'd feel comfortable with kids in this place though. The main hangout areas are all on one level. Shouldn't be a problem. The long stairs and the thin air could lead to trouble with elderly.
We had eleven people stay at this house. There were enough places to sleep for everyone when we used the pull out beds. There are really no doors on the upstairs bedrooms but this was not uncomfortable as one needs to walk around walls in order to access the other room. There was plenty of clean linen, a washer/dryer, and great rooms for our large group to congregate. The house is well and tastefully furnished. It really is only ten minutes from downtown Boulder and an easy drive but it is up the mountain. The view and surroundings are beautiful. The owners are very responsive and accommodating.
Some dishes were not washed in the kitchen and the fireplace was not working, but we still had an amazing time at this property. The owners were helpful and provided an outdoor fire pit, which was probably more enjoyable than the fireplace. Nothing beat the hot tub with views of Boulder. Would definitely stay again.
Wow!!! Everything we thought it would be and more just a short drive down to center of town yet up the mountain which makes you feel like your away from it all!! Fire place cozy...comfy couches great kitchen but most of all the views 360 degree views from watching the sunrise to the sunset. Huge bonus was the new jacuzzi on top floor where 7 of you can relax enjoy the views ...breathtaking!!! The best part about that was being nestled in a hot tub with the snow flakes falling on you it was like a dream!!! Would recommend this home to everyone ..owners were wonderful and very accommodating. We will def be back !!! Thanks so much !!!!
The views for 360 degrees are wonderful! The house is a bit choppy. Plenty of parking for all of us and the owners were very nice; they had to visit us twice as we could not get the TV to work nor the fireplace. The lower freezer in the kitchen as well as in the pantry were very dirty and it was evident they hadn't been cleaned in a long while. There were dishes in the cabinets that hadn't been washed either. Would we rent this again? Maybe.
The weather is one of the greatest things about being in the front range, so don't forget your walking shoes! You will be right across the street from Bald Mountain Scenic area and just a short walk from its spectacular views at the top! Just seven minutes down the road are more fabulous trails.
The house is bordered by a sheep and alpaca farm so don't be surprised to see these curious animals welcoming you from over the fence.
Historic Pearl street is just at the foot of the hill, a fun and colorful 'walking mall' where street performers abound.
For a more serene mountain experience try Lake Brainard where Elk and Moose live and snow can be seen in the middle of the summer. Great for all levels of hiking, it is also a hot spot for fly fishing.
You can access Rocky Mountain National Park by taking the award-winning Peak-to-Peak highway only thirty minutes up the road. It also takes you over to the mountain town of Nederland and the slopes and cross-country trails of Eldora Ski Resort.
Back in town don't miss the Colorado Shakespeare Festival which runs in the summer, or concerts at Chautautaqua.
It is said that there are more restaurants in Boulder per capita than in New York City. True or not there are certainly an incredible amount good restaurants!
Just at the bottom of the hill, the Boulder Recreation Center offers fitness and swimming, tennis and drop-in classes.
The Butterfly Pavilion in Broomfield and the Denver Aquarium offer great indoor activities in the unusual event of a cloudy day.
Whether your interests are recreational, culinary, cultural, or outdoors, you will have it all nearby your comfortable vacation home.
