THE PEACE OF THE MOUNTAINS, MINUTES FROM DOWNTOWN BOULDER

Boulder House Rental Photos and Description

Charming enough for two, spacious enough for twelve

Our 4-story mountain retreat is charming enough for two and spacious enough for twelve

Imagine waking up on top of the world with the red orb of the sun rising over the expanse of plains that spread out before you. The mountains shine golden in the west, and the huge windows on every side bathe you in light. You slip on to the porch and into the hot tub to ease into the day. The golden experience continues in the sun-drenched kitchen. Out on the lawn there are wild deer grazing. They raise their heads to look at you as you walk by but do not run away. Nature has a certain harmony here.

Strategically located in a natural setting close to town it is your call if you travel ten minutes into all that Boulder has to offer, deeper into the wilderness to explore the Rocky Mountains, or just stay home and read, watch a movie or play pool with family and friends.

We came to Boulder after searching far and wide for the right place for us. After our third and fourth children were born we moved just up the road but we maintain a close relationship to the property through our sheep and alpacas who still live there.

Jennifer purchased this house in 2003

We love this house for its location. At once we feel peaceful and in nature, but if we forget something at the store we are close enough to run back to it. All the benefits that go with being in a university town have kept us here.

The house won us because it is really solid. All the wood and light really set it apart from all the others we looked at and the south-facing exposure with all the views made us feel on top of the world.

For this midwestern family this beautiful home with it's 360 degree view of the mountains of Colorado was spectacular! The proximity to Boulder with all it's restaurants and fun was great. The house was well suited to our needs with bedrooms on several levels and great common space for all to enjoy.
The top deck hot tub has great views of town and the mountains. We will definitely return!

Great View....confusing house!

The view was great from all rooms and the house was very roomy. However, the lighting was very confusing and difficult to figure out. Sounds bounce all over the house with missing bedroom doors. Also, the kitchen did not have even the basics in spices and was even missing a bottle opener and a corkscrew. We had to borrow those. The fire alarms were also well hidden and one of them started beeping at 2AM when its batteries went dead. It took us hours to find in up on the 3rd floor closet. I did find a rickety old ladder to climb up to the alarms I could see, but they didn't have batteries and there was no apparent connection to house! I called about it but received no return call from owner and the contact person's phone changed.

Owner's Response: We were so sorry that the first we heard of this unpleasant experience was from the response! There must have been some confusion regarding the 3 contact numbers we left as there were no calls or messages left. We live close by and would have been happy to lend anything needed. We have, of course, replaced the bottle opener.
The fire alarms were serviced last spring and we can only imagine that we missed the one in the upstairs closet?!
It is true that the open floor plan on the third floor does not suit every need but we assure you that there are no doors missing in the house.

Great house for a family reunion

What a setting! This beautiful home is perched high over Boulder with gorgeous views all around. There are llamas on the property, open space hiking trails quite literally across the street and a roof top hot tub to enjoy. The house is spacious, with many areas for groups to gather (the pool table room, the hot tub, the sunny and spacious dining area adjacent to the modern kitchen, a comfortable living room and the many decks). The photos do not do the house justice. It's far more beautiful than it seems from the photos. We rented this house for lodging during my daughter's wedding weekend. It was a perfect place for my family to spend time together. We found it possible to sleep 15 in the house although not everyone had a perfectly private bedroom. With that number there was some walking through others' bedrooms in order to use the shower (fine for our family group). We are already planning our return to sunshine canyon.

The weather is one of the greatest things about being in the front range, so don't forget your walking shoes! You will be right across the street from Bald Mountain Scenic area and just a short walk from its spectacular views at the top! Just seven minutes down the road are more fabulous trails.

The house is bordered by a sheep and alpaca farm so don't be surprised to see these curious animals welcoming you from over the fence.

Historic Pearl street is just at the foot of the hill, a fun and colorful 'walking mall' where street performers abound.

For a more serene mountain experience try Lake Brainard where Elk and Moose live and snow can be seen in the middle of the summer. Great for all levels of hiking, it is also a hot spot for fly fishing.

You can access Rocky Mountain National Park by taking the award-winning Peak-to-Peak highway only thirty minutes up the road. It also takes you over to the mountain town of Nederland and the slopes and cross-country trails of Eldora Ski Resort.

Back in town don't miss the Colorado Shakespeare Festival which runs in the summer, or concerts at Chautautaqua.

It is said that there are more restaurants in Boulder per capita than in New York City. True or not there are certainly an incredible amount good restaurants!

Just at the bottom of the hill, the Boulder Recreation Center offers fitness and swimming, tennis and drop-in classes.

The Butterfly Pavilion in Broomfield and the Denver Aquarium offer great indoor activities in the unusual event of a cloudy day.

Whether your interests are recreational, culinary, cultural, or outdoors, you will have it all nearby your comfortable vacation home.
