Luxury four-bedroom house located in a village setting a short distance from Stirling. The house, which comfortably sleeps 8 people, is an ideal base for large families, groups of friends looking for a luxury break or a special occasion. It features a large lounge with a wood-burning stove, a sun room with access to the upstairs patio area and the outside decking in the ample 1 acre garden and pond area with BBQ and outside furniture. Three of the bedrooms are en-suite while the fourth has use of the large downstairs bathroom. The large dining/kitchen (separate 8 seat dining room) features large free standing fridge/freezer and two double ovens. The house also features a large downstairs game's room which includes: pool table, table-tennis, Wii console, Play station 3 console as well as 42 and 50 inch televisions. There is ample parking for four vehicles and a two car garage.

Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument and The Bannockburn Heritage Centre along with the Smith Art Gallery and Museum should satisfy those looking for history and culture. Blairdrummond Safari Park and Briarlands Farm are nearby. Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow are all an hours drive away. Stirling has a new multi screen cinema complex, the Macrobert based at Stirling University offers theatre and cinema in a more relaxed setting. The Peak, Stirlings brand new sports centre offers a wide range of facilities including;Swimming and ice skating, The MacLaren Sports Centre in Callender also has a wide range of sporting facilities. The Stirling area is ideal for touring holidays and also features many beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside.

A fantastic house in a beautiful area of Sccotland

We had a fantastic holiday at Burnside House, I can't recommend it enough! We stayed for my 40th birthday and were a really mixed age family group including 2 children under the age of 5 and grandparents too. The house was absolutely immaculate and even though the weather hadn't been great in the weeks running up to our stay the garden area was fantastic too and really well kept. The photographs and description really don't do the justice, we were lucky to have sun for a few days and spent early evenings outside in the garden with the children and had a BBQ on the patio, The only thing missing would have been a patio heater - it would have been great to have one on the decking area to keep us that bit warmer!

I would definitely recommend getting a supermarket to deliver on arrival day but the welcome pack gave us all the staples we needed to get started, even wine!

The games room and gardens made it a great house for all the family and we used it as a base to visit some great local sights. In thee and a half days we managed to visit Stirling Castle, Blairdrummond Safari Park and spent a whole day out at Loch Lomond all within a fairly short driving distance. You definitely need to have a car as even Doune,with the nearest shops and pubs is over a mile away but you can walk there and back in half an hour.

I would definitely recommend Burnside House to anyone looking for a bit of luxury, a fantastically well looked after property in a great location, a real find for groups and families of any age

Wonderful

We arrived in Scotland after 30 hours on planes to a wonderfully relaxing home from home. I have not spent a Christmas in Scotland for 11 years and was talked into leaving 25 degrees in NZ by my Kiwi husband who thought a winter Christmas would be fabulous. Staying in this house made this Christmas magical. Being able to share our time with family and friends in this spacious, stylish house was lovely. Everything we needed was here and the Christmas decorations and lights were a great extra touch. I would highly recommend this to anyone and just wish I lived nearer, because it would definitely become a regular place to stay.

Burnside House, Stirling

A stunning property with that real wow factor. Fabulous holiday with great weather, so consequently not much use made of the magnificent games rooms as most evenings were spent in the comfort of the beautifully kept garden. Had a grand family reunion with us all meeting up from our homes in Canada, Switzerland, Kent and Renfrew. Lots of interesting places to visit. As we are all Monthy Python fans our visit to nearby Doune Castle, where the Holy Grail was filmed, was just brilliant. The climb to the top is well worth it for the spectacular view. We have never returned to a holiday rental for a second break but truly hope that we will be able to come back to Burnside House one day. A big thank you to Brenda & James MacKenzie for making our stay such a memorable one.

Absolutely beautiful/perfect

This was the first house we had ever rented and the bar is now set very high for future rentals. This house has everything you need for your holiday. Everyone who stayed with us enjoyed the house and the area tremendously. The property is excellent. It did rain for most of our stay so we could not enjoy the patio as much as we would have liked to but the sun room was well used. The house was very clean and there were no surprises. Kitchen was huge and perfect. The bathrooms were huge and excellent as well. We had 7 staying with us and even 8 for 2 nights and the bathrooms were more than sufficient. I very much enjoyed the master bedroom and ensuite! It is very quiet at night as the house is a little outside Stirling and the nights are super peaceful. The only issue we had and this is really not anything serious is the inernet was really only strong in the kitchen and the family room downstairs. This is just me being picky to be honest as it was not a big deal. All of us would recommend this property to everyone. We will stay there again if we have the chance.

We loved our stay!

We absolutely loved our stay! We were warmly greeted and walked around the house, making sure we knew where everything was and how to use the appliances. There was a generous welcome package which gave us a helpful start to our stay (bread, milk, eggs, jam, coffee, tea, etc). We are a family of 7 and were very comfortable in the house. Everything is new and tastefully decorated. There is a room for everything! A spacious kitchen, comfortable bedrooms (most with en suite), a games room that my kids LOVED, a sitting room, a dining room, a sun room and a lovely deck for a BBQ. The garden was very pretty. After a day of touring it was a joy to come home to :). The location was excellent both for traveling down South and up North. We were a close drive to shops, pubs and walking distance to woodland trails. The owners were were very helpful with invaluable travel advice. This is really an ideal holiday home where everything has been thought of and provided.
