Trinidad Cabin Rental Photos and Description
2 Bedrooms, 1 Bath, Sleeps 4
Private 1960's Classic Mobile Cabin on 1 acre-Ocean & Pasture Views. 2 Bedrooms, one queen and one full bed (and full sofa bed), 1 full bath, small but functional kitchen, dining table and cozy living room that seats four. 10-15 minute drive to Prairie Creek Redwood National Park & about a 35 minute walk (or 7 minute drive) to the Redwood Creek Beach, where the Redwood Creek, which comes down through the Redwood Park, hits the Pacific Ocean. This classic mobile home is located outside the town of Orick, which is just south of the Redwood National Park and about 20 minutes north of Trinidad and 30 minutes north of Arcata. This is definitely simple living but a couple notches up from camping, with all of the wonderful surroundings of the outdoors. The large wrap around deck is nice for sitting out in the sun or under cover if it's raining or you are seeking some shade. You could also put the dining table outside and eat on the grass, on the deck, or under the covered deck.

Other nearby trails include Lady Bird Johnson Trail, Skunk Cabbage Trail, and Lost Man Creek Trail, besides the many, many miles of trails the Prairie Creek Redwood National Park. You are also just north of the 4 Lagoon County Parks including Big Lagoon, Dry Lagoon, Stone Lagoon, and Freshwater Lagoon - all wonderful places to spend the day walking, searching for shells and beach rocks, seeing wildlife including Bald Eagles and Wild Elk, doing water activities (kayaks and stand up paddle boards available to rent at Stone Lagoon which is about 10 minutes south of the home), having a picnic or just relaxing and reading. Great surf fishing, freshwater fishing (including in Redwood Creek which you can walk to), and of course salmon fishing.
The house does not offer television or internet, but cell phone reception seems to be pretty strong. The road out to the house from town is single lane for quite a ways and the last part is gravel . The driveway up to the home is grassy and fairly steep. If you are not comfortable driving in this type of terrain then I would recommend another one of our homes. This is really nice if you are looking to get away and be in a beautiful wooded area with ocean and pasture views, quiet setting, near the parks, and want all that for a very reasonable price for a rustic cabin type setting. In the winter time four wheel drive may serve you best for the last part of the drive up to the house, but probably not necessary. You could also park at the bottom of the driveway if it is too difficult for you and walk the 150 feet up to the house.
