About The Owner
My husband Paul works in hospital administration and I currently am a stay at home mom. We have two kids: a daughter Becca in college and a son Paul in high school. We love the beach and try to get to the beach as much as we can! I love that LBI is like living back in the 60's. My kids get on their bikes in the morning and take off with friends to hit the beach or do other fun shore things. Often, I won't see them until 10 pm that night!

Why The Owner chose Harvey Cedars
Both my husband and I were always dying for a beach house (oceanfront duplex to be exact!) We purchased our wonderful house in 1999. Being from the Philadelphia Area, we used to go more south to the beach and never really knew much about LBI. When we started looking someone recommended that we check out LBI. We did, we fell in love! After buying the house and experiencing LBI we wouldn't go anywhere else!
We fell in love with this house as soon as we saw it, and very unlike us (my husband will research buying a toaster in detail!) we made an offer on the house the next day and haven't looked back!
We loved the private access to the beach, the beach itself is fabulous and it has unbelievable decks! Plus it has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on each floor and great outdoor showers. Basically it was designed great! We did have work to do though. It didn't have air. Central Air was our first major enhancement to the house. We also added gas heat, which allowed us to put in natural gas grills. The next major project was replacing the kitchens (granite and stainless appliances) and updated the bathrooms. Most recently we replaced the siding on the house and replaced all the sliding glass doors (12 in total - 6 on each floor!), while we were at it we also completely redid the outside showers, they're done completely in plastic wood so they are easy to sanitize and clean! Our guests actually love the showers so much they prefer showering outside rather than inside!
What makes this condo unique
We are lucky to have a private walkway to the beach, which makes running back and forth, even for little ones - so easy!
The decks are absolutely fabulous! And we have great deck furniture, tables chairs and lounges. We have lighting so you can even spend time on the deck even at night!
The house has fabulous windows and light availablility. There are 4 sets of sliding glass door in living/dining area along with another bank of windows. 2 of the bedrooms have sliding glass doors that access the deck and the 3rd bedroom has two windows.
As noted above, we pride ourselves in keeping our house in great working order and making it as comfortable for our guests as we can. We leave our address and email address at the house and ask for feedback and suggestions. Through the years we implemented many suggestions, including adding outside lighting on the deck on the first floor, adding a ceiling fan, adding internet access and many other items!
Our house is on the narrowest street on the island - only 2 blocks wide (approximately 10 houses wide.)
Because it's only two blocks wide our beach is never crowded even during peak summer weeks!
There's great bay access just down the street and we are within walking distance to Sunset Park which has free concerts every Wednesday during the summer. The park also has a great playground, ball field, tennis court and bay access for boating and crabbing.
LBI has fabulous restaurants to suit every taste.
