We are architects who lived in Paris and purchased this apartment so that we could always come back to a neighborhood that we loved. We looked at over 50 apartments before finding one that met all of our requirements. The apartment was completely renovated after we purchased it, changing the layout to be more useful for us and so that it would be up to our very exacting standards.
This Paris arrondisement is very special. It offers the opportunity to live as Parisian rather than a tourist. The functional kitchen allows you to take full advantage of the wonderful markets and shops, of which there are many in walking distance from the apartment. It is very convenient to all of the major attractions, yet retains its village feel.
The apartment is flooded with sunlight from morning to night given its double exposure, which also provides terrific cross-ventilation when it is warm. Being on the top floor it is very quiet; all you will hear are the birds. There is also the quintessential view of Paris rooftops from all of the windows.
The apartment is located in a delightful residential neighborhood with many specialty food stores, cafés and restaurants close by, not to mention street markets. Several lovely parks are in the neighborhood; Square St. Lambert being the closest for picnics, parc George Brassens for the antiquarian book market and parc Andre Citroen for exotic plantings and dancing fountains. The nearby Rue du Commerce is a veritable Village within Paris with wide sidewalks and limited traffic.
Direct metro to the Place de la Concorde (Champs Elysées, Musée d’Orsay), Opera, Bastille. Within 15 minutes to Eiffel Tower. Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, Ile de la Cité, the Louvre and much more. Nothing in Paris is very far away.
