|Minimum Stay||5 nights|
Designed by New York architects for their own occasional use, the 42m² space has been intelligently planned to make a comfortable, attractive, sunny and very livable apartment. It is on the 6th (top) floor of a typical Parisian building from the end of the 19th century with an elevator so no walking up stairs required, unless you'd like to work off some calories.
The walls are painted a lovely off-white, there are polished wood floors throughout, with an eclectic mix of modern and antique furnishings, creating a clean and uncluttered appearance.
The closet-lined entrance hall widens out into a dining area and then into an especially well equipped integral kitchen with dishwasher.
There is a comfortable double sofabed in the living room, a lounge chair and a flatscreen TV with access to over 30 cable channels including the BBC and CNN.
The bedroom has twin beds that can be made up as a king.
White and green mosaic tiles enliven the bathroom as do full height mirrors. There is a full-size tub and integral shower. WC is separate.
High end appliances include a washing machine and separate gas dryer.
Gas central heating and hot water.
Free international telephone calls.
Initial linen supplied.
We are architects who lived in Paris and purchased this apartment so that we could always come back to a neighborhood that we loved. We looked at over 50 apartments before finding one that met all of our requirements. The apartment was completely renovated after we purchased it, changing the layout to be more useful for us and so that it would be up to our very exacting standards.
Alexander Cole purchased this apartment in 1995
This Paris arrondisement is very special. It offers the opportunity to live as Parisian rather than a tourist. The functional kitchen allows you to take full advantage of the wonderful markets and shops, of which there are many in walking distance from the apartment. It is very convenient to all of the major attractions, yet retains its village feel.
The apartment is flooded with sunlight from morning to night given its double exposure, which also provides terrific cross-ventilation when it is warm. Being on the top floor it is very quiet; all you will hear are the birds. There is also the quintessential view of Paris rooftops from all of the windows.
My husband and I stayed here on our 3rd trip to Paris, and it was by far the best time we had. In this apartment, we could pretend we were Parisians for a week! The neighborhood felt wonderfully authentic and not at all touristy. We could blend in and enjoy all the little bakeries, fromageries, brasseries, fish mongers, etc. (and there was a detailed binder in the apartment with local recommendations). We were just a few blocks away from the metro, and could easily explore other neighborhoods and get to all the sites. Watching the sun go down from the apartment windows, over those endless rooftops and chimneys, is a vision I hope to have with me for a long time!
I stayed in this apartment the very first time I visited Paris, and it certainly made the experience all the more memorable. One of the things I loved most about the city was the rooftops, and being on the top floor looking out at all those Haussmann roofs was absolutely breathtaking! The apartment is very close to the Félix Faure metro stop, has all types of grocery stores, fromageries, bakeries, etc. within a couple of blocks, and the kitchen was well-equipped and a pleasure to use. I'd definitely stay in this place again, and would recommend it to anyone who'd like a real Parisian experience in the charming 15th arrondissement!
This apartment was perfect for our stay in Paris! A block away from the metro and minutes from all attractions, yet conveniently tucked away on a quiet side street. With a supermarket, coffee shops, bakeries and restaurants right around the corner, we had everything we needed. An elevator made it easy with our luggage. The apartment itself was cozy and comfortable. Wifi was useful for planning our daily excursions and washer and dryer made it so we could clean our clothes and not have to pack as much. The beautiful mantle, large windows and rooftop views really added to our Paris experience! I definitely recommend staying at this apartment if you plan on visiting Paris.
The apartment is located in a delightful residential neighborhood with many specialty food stores, cafés and restaurants close by, not to mention street markets. Several lovely parks are in the neighborhood; Square St. Lambert being the closest for picnics, parc George Brassens for the antiquarian book market and parc Andre Citroen for exotic plantings and dancing fountains. The nearby Rue du Commerce is a veritable Village within Paris with wide sidewalks and limited traffic.
Direct metro to the Place de la Concorde (Champs Elysées, Musée d’Orsay), Opera, Bastille. Within 15 minutes to Eiffel Tower. Latin Quarter, Notre Dame, Ile de la Cité, the Louvre and much more. Nothing in Paris is very far away.
