Located just blocks from Southwestern University and historic downtown Georgetown Square. Beautiful San Gabriel Park is nearby which offers an abundance of family-friendly activities (picnic, fishing, disc golf, cycling or strolling along the river under the beautiful live oaks). Explore the new hike and bike trails along the San Gabriel River, stop for a refreshing drink or lunch on the outdoor patio at El Monumento as you make your way to 'blue hole' a historic swimming site that is still enjoyed by many today.
Take in the local sights of nearby towns on a scenic drive through the Texas Hill Country. You will find many interesting sights along the way. Wildseed Farms and numerous wineries in Fredricksburg are located west of Georgetown; to the north is Salado, a small town filled with antique shops on the historic Chisholm trail; and to the south is Round Rock which offers the Round Rock Outlet Mall and Austin for a UT game, Circuit of the America--Home of the Formula One US Grand Prix, SXSW music/film festival, Austin's famous Sixth Street, State Capitol and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, to name a few of the numerous activities to chose from.
We chose this property because we were looking for a cute cottage close to the Southwestern University and the historic Georgetown Square.
Large backyard with deck and gas grill for BBQ. Perfect gathering place while visiting your student attending Southwestern University.
My husband and I were fortunate to be able to stay in Georgetown for several months to visit our son and his family this winter. The 7th Heaven Cottage was perfect for our for stay. Sheila went out of her way to make sure that we had everything we would need to feel right at home down to providing baking items so I could bake goodies with my grandchildren. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms are so charmingly decorated with lots of closet space. It was equipped with everything we needed. We were close to everything but yet had a quiet place to retreat and relax to after spending the day with family. The neighborhood is charming and quiet with plenty of restaurants, shops and activities close by. The big backyard and deck was an added plus to sit outside and enjoy the weather. We enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommended it. Thank you Sheila for making our stay so wonderful and memorable.
We have been here a month and it has been wonderful. The cottage was equipped as advertised and extremely comfortable. The location was perfect, walking distance to the square and many walking trails. I will definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends.
First thought when I opened the door was, "Wow, I may never leave!". Charm, comfort, and great touches everywhere to make the stay even better. My pup loved romping through the leaves in the super backyard (fenced), and a good-sized deck right off the kitchen was perfect for morning tea and a bit of yoga. Location was excellent, in a quiet neighborhood close to lots of parks and town. The owner is wonderful, taking the time to email answers to my questions about the area before we got there, and bringing us the most delicious goodies from a local bakery when we arrived from our 20+ hr trek to get there!
Can't wait to visit again...7th Heaven is really an appropriate name for this spot!!
What an awesome place to stay! Sheila is so sweet. The cottage was so peaceful, lovely, cozy, and well equipped with everything you may need. It was a time to enjoy our family and friends. It was like a home away from home. We loved it and will be back to stay next year.
My daughters and I enjoyed our stay very much. The cottage was very nice, cozy, and inviting. Our hostess was very helpful and friendly. She brought us some delicious cookies to welcome us. We attended a play at the theater, thanks to her telling me of it. We enjoyed our time at the square, so much to do and see. I would come back again and recommend this home to friends.
I really enjoyed my stay at 7th Heaven cottage. The cottage itself was charming, beautifully decorated and neat as a pin. Sheila did a great job of preparing and stocking the house for anything that you can imagine needing on vacation, from games and toiletries to kitchen utensils and kitchen staples. They even left some pet bowls out for my dog to use, which I thought was so sweet. You can rest assured that you don't have to pack half your house if you stay here. It's really got everything you could need.
The location, near the beautiful historic downtown Georgetown, cannot be beat. We enjoyed the short drives to Austin and the rest of the Hill Country.
We will definitely be back.
