Welcome to Canandaigua Lake...The “Gem of the Finger Lakes”
”The cottage” is conveniently located in historic “Cottage City”...just 5.5 miles from the City of Canandaigua where you will find shopping, (Wegmans is a special treat), quaint shops along historic Main Street, Kershaw Park, “The Pier”, the Culinary Center and Center for Performing Arts....and so much more!!!
The road to the cottage, off the main road, is a private one...no road noise...no heavy traffic...the speed is limited to 10MPH . A real plus for the kids and for walking the path. Ample coveted parking for family and guests.
As you turn into the driveway, natures' beauty and tranquility await you...a park like level setting with towering trees and sprawling lawn leads to the glorious and rare 200 ft. level shale beach.
“Come into the House”......modern oak kitchen is fully stocked...appliances include a dishwasher, stove, disposal, 2 refrigerators and microwave. (You'll really appreciate the extra fridge)
The half bath and laundry are adjacent.
You will be treated to a spectacular “Panoramic” view from the charming living/dining room. A full wall of glass presents the lake in all its glory! …..Step out onto the nostalgic open front porch, furnished to let you relish meals and gaze at the lake and front lawn activities. Paved patios with tables at the rear, side, front, and beach, offer dining “where you like it”.
The second floor has 3 bedrooms and modern bath. One bedroom has a double bed, the second has two (2) double beds and the third cathedral ceiling bedroom has a double and a single bed.
Down on the beach...sun & fun!!!!....hunt for fossils, (the kids love it)...for the little ones, water is just “ankle” high. Go for a swim or lounge on the beach...perhaps boating, water skiing, tubing, jet skiing, fishing off the dock or a little bit from the point...wave to the red, white, & blue “Canandaigua Lady” cruising the lake...tours and dinner cruises available at Kershaw .
As evening sets, don't miss the spectacular sunsets...pull up a chair and watch the sun go down...then, linger awhile and you may see the blue heron fly in to feed at the mouth of the creek....a treat for kids.
Many of our families have been returning for 15-20 years. We've watched their children grow-up...they tell us days at the cottage are among their most treasured memories. Come.... make them yours!!!!
If the Fall is your time to come, you will be treated to a blaze of glory.... beautiful Indian Summer!
