Overview

Tahoma Chalet Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms 2.5 bathrooms walking distance to the lake

Enjoy your Lake Tahoe vacation in the comfort of this large family home! Our chalet was completed in January of 2013.

The home is approximately 1,800 square feet and is situated in the quiet, family-friendly neighborhood of Tahoma on Lake Tahoe’s west shore. It is within walking distance to the private homeowners’ beach (available to renters), pier, market, casual dining, park for children, and Chamber’s Landing. Also close by are Sugar Pine Point State Park, Meeks Bay, and Emerald Bay, which offer access to trails and the natural beauty of Lake Tahoe. In the winter, there is easy access to Homewood, Squaw Valley, and Alpine Meadows ski resorts. The casinos and entertainment of the South Shore are a scenic and short drive away.

The downstairs level of the home includes a large gathering room with a flat screen TV and gas fireplace. The dining area can comfortably seat eight to ten people. The kitchen features granite counters and stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher. It is well equipped with pots, pans, dinnerware, silverware, cups, and appliances (toaster, coffee maker, etc.) necessary for entertaining.

The upstairs level consists of a master bedroom, two additional bedrooms, bathroom, laundry room, and loft. It is an ideal set up for two families. The master bedroom has a king size bed, full bathroom, flat screen TV, and access to the front deck. The first of the additional bedrooms also has a king size bed and access to the back deck. The second bedroom has two full beds, a bunk bed, and access to the back deck. It is great for children. The loft has a wet bar with wine fridge and coffee maker. You can sit outside on one of the decks in the morning and enjoy a cup of coffee!

There is WIFI and hard wire Internet throughout the house. You are welcome to bring one dog with you for a small additional fee.

A Wonderful Comfortable Home

  • 5 of 5
We shared the house with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and daughter. We were there for my in-laws 60th wedding anniversary. Four of us love to cook and had the perfect kitchen to do it in! And with all the appliances we needed! The house is so comfortable and was immaculate. Thank you for the little touches: the wine, and wonderful little soaps and shampoos. The beds were so comfortable, a wonderful deck to sit out on and beautiful bathrooms made it the house for us. It was a wonderful trip - we plan to book the next time there is a family gathering.

Spent 2 Weeks in Paradise - Tahoma Chalet House

  • 5 of 5
3 generations of my family just spent 2 beautiful weeks in this home in Tahoma! We have been coming to Tahoma for over 25 years and as the family grows and/or changes we always come back to the West Shore - Tahoma. This is first year that we spent 2 full weeks and loved this home. Our daughter and son-in-law and their two babies, one just under 2 years, the other 3 months old had plenty of room and the home was equipped with all the necessities and then some. We cooked in almost all meals and although we brought most of our food, the PDQ Market was just a short walk away to fill in what we needed. By the way, the bottles of White and Red wines left for us was a very nice touch! We enjoyed the HOA lake dock as well as the playground a short hop, skip and a jump away. We had family staying in other homes off and on during our trip and this home was large enough to all have dinner together once or twice. We love the closeness of beaches (Chambers Landing and Meeks Bay) and even discovered a new place - Beacon Bar & Grill at Camp Richardson (by boat or car). Our all time favorite is River Ranch. Although we were not able to raft it this year due to the low water level....you still need to spend a couple hours on the patio there enjoying the beautiful scenery, eating BBQ and having a refreshing drink. There are many stairs in this house but not once did our 2 year old grandson fall on them and is now an EXPERT going up/down stairs (sometimes not evening holding on). The other plus is that "Nana and Papa" got lots of exercise on the stairs as well!! This house has a full laundry room which came in handy with the 2 weeks we were there. The weather was outstanding and the crowds had gone home already, very nice benefit. You will love this house for any type of family or friends gathering, spacious bedrooms and 2-1/2 baths. It does have a large open loft, although we didn't take too much advantage of it, possibly older kids and/or their parents might use it to "get away" from the other generation. Thank you for sharing your home.

Owner's Response: I am glad you enjoyed your stay. Tahoe is beautiful during winter. There is just as much to do and see in Tahoe during winter. Rental rates are often lower and return renters get 10% discount.

Beautiful Cabin, Great Trip!

  • 5 of 5
My group and I have been getting together for an annual Reunion/Tahoe Trip for the last 5 years. We are all good friends from college and make sure to get together at least once a year to hang out and have a good time. This property was perfect for this! The cabin is extremely clean, and comfortable. I have been travelling to Tahoe 1 to 2 times a year for the last 25 years, and I must say this is probably the nicest cabin I have ever stayed in.

Our group consisted of 8 men in there late 20's and we all thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We tend to rent on the West shore (area where this property is located) as it tends to be the quietest and has the best "bang for your buck" in terms of rental properties. It is also one of the most picturesque parts of the Lake Tahoe area. The property is also in close proximity the Homewood Ski Area, and about 8 miles away from the dining options and supermarkets in Tahoe City, which is great.

Additionally, it is very obvious that the owners care immensely about this property. The property is kept up extremely well and has ample room to stretch out. There are beautiful pictures on the walls, that all look to be taken by the owner or his family, which is a great touch. The owner was also very approachable and answered any and all questions that I had very quickly.

Overall, our stay at this property was amazing and we hope to book with him again. I would have absolutely no issue recommending this property to anyone!

Wonderful Home for a Family

  • 5 of 5
We were amazed by how new, clean, and well-equipped this home was. It was perfect for our family of five, and accommodated dinner guests beautifully. The kitchen had everything we could have wanted and more! I think we may have even been the first to use some of the appliances, like the crockpot, and there were serving dishes galore. Walking distance to the PDQ market, the local pizza place, the gelato cafe and the children's playground! Just a short 5 minute drive to Meeks Bay Beach, too!
