Merida House Rental Photos and Description
This entirely new home (first occupied in 2013) is located in a wonderful barrio of downtown Merida (Centro) known as Santiago. Two blocks to the south is Santiago Square with its church, supermarket, and traditional mercado with fruits, vegetables, meats, and flowers. And directly across the street from the house is an organic produce shop and café operated by a lovely young Mexican couple and their toddler son. Merida's grand main square as well as the charming Santa Lucia Park are within easy walking distance.
The house is filled with light and air, both of which filter through the 2-story foyer. The open design of the main living space is ideally suited for entertaining or enjoying family time. About Dania Angelica Guerra Mooh
As an American with wanderlust, I have spent more than two decades scouring the colonial cities of Mexico for the perfect location, home, and ambience. I discovered Merida in 2009 and immediately began assisting with house and garden tours in order to see as many homes as possible. Nearly four years later found my dream vacation home. I work in the US and Europe but spend as much time as possible in the lovely capital of the Yucatan.
Dania Angelica Guerra Mooh purchased this house in 2013
Why Dania Angelica Guerra Mooh chose Merida
In a word, Merida's uniqueness drew me in. I love Mexico and spend time on both coasts as well as the interior. But Merida offers not only true Mexican life, but also those fabulous influences of the Mayan world, French and Spanish settlers, plus Cuba and the Caribbean generally. Merida's history, architecture, culture, dining, and outdoor attractions make for a fascinating and diverse urban experience.
What makes this house unique
Casa Aqua is a welcome retreat, yet located right in the center of it all. You can enjoy all that Merida has to offer--including colonial architecture, art galleries, churches, free nightly cultural events, restaurants, shops, museums and more--but come back to your own private oasis as soon as you step in the front door. In addition to the more customary amenities, you will have a private gym, US phone line, and personal service from our extraordinary property manager. Plus, there is off-street parking for two vehicles--a rare benefit indeed in the heart of colonial Centro. Other details, like filtered water in the kitchen (including refrigerator dispenser) make living here easy and effortless. I hope you find Casa Aqua as special as previous guests have.
