Beautiful home in Point Loma with a fabulous garden. The house has warm inviting colors, beautiful wood throughout, and is located on top of Point Loma with a terrific view of the city and the bay.
Centrally located with quick access to beaches, San Diego Bay, downtown, SeaWorld, the Zoo and more.
The living room and kitchen area has an open floor plan with a large granite table, perfect for entertaining.
The backyard has wonderful features and quite a variety of plants. All year round flowers will be blooming. You’re guaranteed to see lots of birds in the birdbaths.
Each bedroom has a unique style of its own:
In the upstairs ‘View’ bedroom you can choose to relax and enjoy the view of San Diego and the bay from your bed, or from your lounge chairs, or from your own private deck. It has a luxurious bath, along with two sinks and a separate toilet room.
The upstairs 'Red Carpet' bedroom has a most luxurious red carpet that gives a warm and comfortable feeling to the room. It also has its own patio with seating and umbrella to relax and feel the breeze coming over the hill from the ocean.
The downstairs “Board” bedroom has the most rich and inviting colors. The surfboard on the ceiling adds California character. It has easy access to the living area and tiled deck overlooking the beautiful garden.
The downstairs “Garden” bedroom is like a breath of spring. It has French doors that open out to the large deck with built-in Jacuzzi hot tub right next to the garden.
Please, no large parties or events without prior authorization. This is a quiet neighborhood.
If I had $1 for every time my children said "This was the BEST vacation ever" (and we have been fortunate enough to take many nice vactions, to include Europe), I could have paid for our amazing trip to San Diego! It was our first experience with VRBO, but it won't be our last! We took our 3 grown children and their spouses and 2 grandbabies with us and had the most LOVELY experience! The home suited us PERFECTLY, allowing us to gather each morning out on the beautiful patio for breakfast and around the big granite island for meals. Each night was spent relaxing in the hot tub...allowing us to enjoy the GORGEOUS backyard. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds HEAVENLY! The location was perfect! The home provided beautifully for all of our needs, and the area was perfect for taking daily walks. We are SO happy with our choice to visit Point Loma Garden House. Thanks, Charon! I would recommend this home to all. Clean, cozy, peaceful and beautiful!
Our stay was delightful. It was the perfect accommodation for those of us who came from out-of-town to join our San Diego relatives for a Family Reunion. It was an easy commute to our relatives homes and also centrally located to all things San Diego. We went to Seaworld, the Zoo, Beaches (Coronado and La Jolla) Sunset Cliffs (the daring jumped), Cabrillo Monument (thanks to our hosts for the free parking pass) and Old Town. When we first arrived we made a Costco trip to stock up on food for the week, as we love to cook. The ample refrigerator/freezer and walk-in pantry allowed for plenty of storage. For quick supplemental food shopping there was a Fresh & Easy within walking distance. The kitchen featured a gas range, coffee maker, and plenty of cooking/baking utensils & pots/pans to prepare our menus which included baking cookies, BBQ-ing Teriaki Steak & Hamburgers, Lasagna, Crepes, Tortilla Pizzas, Omelets, Sack picnic lunches, etc. Other activities we enjoyed included morning and evening walks/jogs around the neighborhood with fabulous Bay or Ocean views, playing the 3 Par Sail-Ho golf course at Liberty Station or just plain relaxing and visiting with family in the beautiful garden/patio area, including a hot tub. In the evenings we hooked up our Apple TV so we could all share our daily iPhone pictures/videos on the big HD TV in the living room/kitchen area. Our hosts Charon & Steve were very accommodating and keep their house clean and well stocked with amenities; towels, both bath and beach, soaps & shampoos, hair dryers, washer & dryer, etc. The beds were comfortable, ocean breezes and fans kept us cool, plenty of space whether we were gathering together or wanted a bit of privacy/nap in one of the four bedrooms and there were 2 bathrooms on each floor. This property exceeded our expectations and we would recommend it highly.
I have been to San Diego many times before staying at the Point Loma Garden House. Never before have I enjoyed San Diego so much! We rented PLGH for my daughter's wedding at The Thursday Club and I could not have been more pleased. The listing description was accurate in every regards. The location was perfect: three blocks from The Thursday Club, less than one mile from Shelter Island, five minutes from the airport and equally close to downtown. The house has very open with an outdoor-indoor feel. The garden is very well-kept with comfortable outdoor seating and the spa is well-maintained. My 87 year old mother was at ease in the downstairs garden room with the adjacent bathroom which had one-step into the shower. My two nieces (the flower girls) stayed in the upstairs twin bedroom where we could see parrots nest in the trees across the street from their balcony. And, I reserved the master bedroom upstairs with a bay view for my husband and myself! We felt so at home. The property was clean and well maintained. The owners are very approachable and accommodating. If I ever plan a vacation in San Diego again, I will book it at PLGH as it felt just like a second home!
We stayed in this lovely home with three couples and it was just perfect. Clean, spacious, with everything you need. Short walk to the cliffs to watch the sunset. The outside space in this house is beautiful. It was a short 20 minute drive into downtown for a conference we were attending. Charon is very easy to work with and made everything go really smoothly. Highly recommend this rental home.
We were in town for my brother's wedding, and it was our first time visiting San Diego. This house truly felt like home away from home. (In fact, my 2 year old keeps asking me about our "San Diego home".) Our group consisted of 3 couples, 1 teen, 1 toddler, and 1 infant, and we were all comfortable. Charon was very accommodating and communicative. We had everything we needed at the house. The view was awesome from the master bedroom, and we liked that we were able to fit the pack and play in the large master closet. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the patio during the day and relaxing in the hot tub at night. The location was phenomenal as well- close drive to everything and great neighborhood to walk in. I would definitely consider staying here again.
Our family stayed at this house and loved our vacation! The house is very well kept-up and we were so pleased at how much thought they put into making sure that there is everything you need for a comfortable stay. We loved the view from the upstairs master and enjoyed spending time in the hot tub in the evening. The setup of the house was so great and the walk-in closet was great to use as a nursery. The baby's pack and play fit and the baby slept well. We went to both Sea World and the Zoo during our stay and the drive to both was quick. I also loved that we could get to the airport without having to get on a freeway. Thanks Charon, you're house is excellent and we look forward to staying here again!
The Cabrillo National Monument, the Point Loma Lighthouse and tide pools are just a short drive away.
The house is within walking distance to the Thursday Club, a beautiful wedding and events venue.
Sunset Cliffs is at the bottom of the hill on one side and the San Diego Bay at the bottom of the hill on the other side. Fresh & Easy Market for groceries and Peet's Coffee are super close. Our street is a great street for walking/jogging.
