The big house is open. After only offering the downstairs Bungalow over the past two years, we now have opened the upper house! Enjoy over 3200 square feet of beach living! The California Dreamin' has everything you need for your beach vacation! Designed for guests to have the comforts of home combined with all of the things unique to beach living. Two amazing decks with views to the Channel Islands. A dedicated router and WiFi for those who have to work during their stay. Nine foot ceilings throughout with modern construction. A Chef's Kitchen with 6 gas burner stove, stainless steel appliances and two Bosch dishwashers. Central heating and music controlled throughout the house. Just plug in your device and listen to your favorite playlist.
The master bedroom has a 42 inch flat screen. Cable TV is provided with a large movie selection for your viewing pleasure. Beach chairs, beach toys and beach towels are provided. The Harbor is close by with boating, fishing, shopping and fine dining available. Ride your bike up the coast and watch dolphins surf the waves. Play some volleyball on the nearby sand courts or walk to the locally owned Donut Dock for a latte and croissant. Surf the world class waves and end your day on the deck around the toasty fire or in the Jacuzzi.

We love the town of Ventura. After brief stays in other cities, we were drawn back to the place we know and love and built our dream house at the beach. Now that our children are grown, we can travel more and share our home as a vacation rental. We hope you enjoy our home and the city of Ventura as much as we do.
This property was originally an 800 square foot, one story house. We loved this lot because of the open space in the back and the beautiful view to the beach and the Channel Islands in the front.
Our home is one block from the sand, two blocks from fantastic restaurants and walking distance to everything.
The owners have done a great job of making this a lovely place to stay. We especially enjoyed the patio with beautifully landscaped space complete with a waterfall. The owners responded quickly with any requests and were in close contact to insure all was going well.
Great location, easy walk to the beach and super close to a great bike trail along the water. Joanna responds to emails and phone calls super quickly. She recommended The Sushi House on Seaward (one block over), and it was amazing! We also loved Social Tap (a few doors down from The Sushi House). We took the boat over to the Channel Islands and kayaked the caves on Santa Cruz Island. If you have time (and desire) to do this, wow....incredible!
Joanna and Brand's home is comfortable and convenient with an amazing shower and outdoor space! We had a great time!
We had a marvelous time in this spacious and comfortable bungalow! The neighborhood is nice and just a short stroll to the beach and The Jolly Oyster! Joanna returns calls and emails at lighting speed and Brand was also just as welcoming! The patio has a wonderful and peaceful waterfall and a BBQ, table and boulders to rest upon. I highly recommend this property and we will certainly return! Thanks to the both of you for welcoming our 2 dogs as they had a blast and also can't wait to return. Great way to begin our retirement and great getaway in such a short drive. A great little condo and so close to the beach - less than a 5 minute walk. Used our bikes to ride up to the fairgrounds and people watch. Walked over to have dinner at Spasso Cucina on Seward and food and ambiance was great. Only minor disappointment was that were wasn't a dresser to unpack and place clothes. Will be back!
One thing that really stands out about this property is the ownership. Joanna responded promptly from the very first email. Questions were answered via email in a few hours at most. In the past when using VRBO, I have had to wait sometimes weeks to hear back about a property. The responsiveness really made a difference in our decision to stay here. Phone # is available as well. I also contacted the owners during our stay via email and a response was given promptly. This shows they care and about their guest and property.
The location of the property is prime. A short walking distance to the beach for our preschooler and Grandmom. We squeezed in 5 people, it was a bit tight, but the openness and the lovely patio made it seem much bigger then it is. The water softener system was nice surprise and we all LOVED the rain forest shower head.
We grilled every night we were there. It was a great way to end the evening under the stars with waterfall running. We also made use of the fire pit and did smores one night. It really is a great property and value. Next time we will bring our little pooch and he will love the beach as well.
If there was a con I would say that the wifi was spotty at best. But who needs wifi when you are relaxing! Luckily we were able to use my hotspot on my cell for wifi for my kids Netflix in the evening otherwise I can't really think of any real cons of this location.

The beach bungalow was everything that was described and more. The photos accurately reflected the bungalow. It was very clean and well maintained. We loved, loved, loved it. Very close to the beach and very convenient. The owners were very helpful. I would recommend this property to any friends and will (hopefully) return for another wonderful stay. By the way, the shower is fantastic.
