We were so excited to go. But cottage was not clean when we arrived. Tons of spiders, in fact I got bit 3 times by them. Hot tub was filthy and not useable. No beach area, and bottom was not only mucky I sank in one spot up to my knee. No firewood provided. Dock was not very sturdy. Patio door screen was taped. Kitchen window had no screen. No washer or dryer, no bath tub. So not really a full bath and a half. The layout was very nice and open. Every time it rained the walkway to the front door filled with mud. The kitchen had a beautiful set of dishes but pans were in bad shape and there was one bowl for cooking. AC was on the floor in the closet but there were plenty of fans so we were ok. Curtains provided little to no protection or privacy. I was dying to move bedroom furniture around so I wouldn't get the light in my eyes & have some privacy too. We picked up an entire grocery bag full of dog poo when we first arrived. The fire pit area was amazing. With a little more care to detail it would have been a more pleasant stay. Very disappointed because we have family in the area & are looking for a place to use on a repeat basis. I'd be willing to give it another try knowing what to expect so I could be prepared. Sadly I can only rate three stars. The landlord seemed sincere and willing to please so I hope these issues are addressed. Even with mucky bottom the lake was beautiful and we still enjoyed it.
Excellent location 15-20 minutes from Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes Park and Traverse City. Bonfires at night by the lake were great. Hear the Loons on the lake every night while sitting by the fire. Fish right off the end of the dock.
