Enjoy breathtaking views of Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, the Seattle skyline and the North Cascades from this cozy, two-story beach cabin.
This unique property -- Double Bluff Beach Club -- boasts 200 feet of no-bank waterfront on over three acres of beach. Meander 1/4 mile down a private drive and ascend stone stairs to this piece of paradise perched about the trees.
Soak in summer sun from a gorgeous, custom-built deck, or stroll along a sand and driftwood trail to the water's edge. On an enchanted evening, dine beneath the stars or head down to the fire pit to roast marshmallows, to tell stories and to sing songs around a campfire. Just outside the house is a partially covered patio complete with comfortable furniture, a barbecue grill, a dinner bell, a warm outdoor shower and lots of hooks to hang towels and gear from a memorable day at the beach.
Inside you'll find all the comforts of home coupled with unique Island charm. This top-to-bottom remodel is beautiful, bright, and EVERY room has a view! Curl up on the comfy couch with a good book, play board games around the coffee table or simply kick back, take a nap and relax.
The cabin features gleaming, original 1930's wood floors and a fully stocked kitchen/dining area with granite counter tops, bar stools and all-new stainless steel appliances. The family-friendly living room frames picture windows and just beyond it reside a 3/4 bathroom with a granite vanity, a linen closet and the main floor bedroom with a queen bed, new carpet, a built-in closet and that spectacular view!
Descend the spiral staircase to the bunk room. The kiddos will go crazy over two custom bunk beds and two built-in berths, each with its own storage area and night light. The kids' room is complete with puzzles, games and ample room to play. The lower level also features new carpet, a second bedroom with a queen bed and its own private entrance, and a full bath with an over-sized washer and dryer.
DBBC is located at Double Bluff Beach and County Park, a premier spot for outdoor water sports and activities including fishing, crabbing, clamming, kayaking, kiteboarding, skimboarding and paddleboarding. The cabin is minutes away from grocery shopping in Freeland and the Saturday Bayview Farmer's Market (late Apr-Oct). While you are here, be sure to visit Langley -- South Whidbey's charming, seaside village -- for strolling, shopping, whale watching and dining.
Whidbey Island is a gem, home to magical memories and often referred to as 'the shortest distance to far away.' Many have been inspired and rejuvenated by this place, and year after year they continue to return. Double Bluff Beach Club is no different. We think you will LOVE it here!

Two families purchased this home in late 2012 after meeting through a shared interest in kiteboarding. One of the families lives right here on Whidbey Island. The other family live in Seattle.

Useless Bay is unmatched, and this property is amazing! The remodel was a serious labor of love, but it was well-worth the effort. We had a vision for this dusty old diamond in the rough; we believed it could be updated and enjoyed by future generations of families.
The cabin sits perched 40' up on Double Buff, but it still has direct waterfront access. The lot is 200' wide and over 3 acres. It's beautiful!
We had a great week at our favorite Whidbey Beach. Thank you for sharing your lovely house with us! Great location, amazing to watch the change in tides from the kitchen windows.
Can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our 4-night stay at DBBC. The house itself is a gem: spacious and yet cozy at the same time. Being situated up on the hillside it has a mesmerizing, panoramic view of Useless Bay where you can watch the tide come and go, enjoy the arc of the morning sun, gaze at the dogs and their humans strolling up and down the beach or all of the above! The outdoor deck is a wonderful place to enjoy a warm day while drinking coffee, playing games, or just taking in the view. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much everything you'll typically need and the BBQ grill outside on the deck is an added plus. The beds are comfortable and the towels provided are nice and plush. We don't have kids but when we saw the bunk bed area, we imagined how fun it would be as a kid to get to enjoy that space. The location right on Double Bluff is beyond ideal. You walk down the steps from the cabin and are instantly walking among the driftwood out to the beach. Take a nice long stroll down the beach to the right of the cabin and, on a clear day, you'll enjoy seeing Mt. Rainier, the Seattle skyline and the Olympics if you keep going around the bend. We took this vacation with our 12-year old dog to get her out of the city and into nature for a few days. She couldn't get enough of the beach and all of its wonderful smells. We will surely be back as many times as we can to give her a repeat experience.
This rental property was like a little piece of Heaven! The beginning of March and there was sunshine! The cabin has magnificent views of the mountains, water, ship traffic, tide changes. Walks on the beach are beautiful, with so much to see and investigate. The cabin is very well-equipped with everything that is needed for a relaxing time, and beautifully decorated with "beach" features. Leaving the beach to check out numerous other attractions on Whidbey is a bonus if you can pull yourself away (!), there are many interesting places to visit on the island. I highly recommend this property.
Lovely home with spectacular view. Very well appointed kitchen and nice linens, towels in bedroom and bathroom. Master bed was super comfortable. Nice extras - recent magazines, good books and some essentials (olive oil, salt/pepper inn the kitchen). The beach access was great. Kids loved the basement. I was glad to read the note about the stairs - I had been contemplating inviting my parents who are in their 80s and I think the stairs would have been too much for them. We will definitely be back.
We stayed one night at the beach cabin and LOVED our stay! A lot of care and design savvy was obviously put into the remodel, as it retains a traditional old beach house feel with modern amenities. The kids (4) loved walking among the driftwood and up the strand by a setting sun. The cabin, though not large, very easily accommodated a family of six without us even using an extra bedroom. The view of Mt. Rainier from the master bedroom is a beautiful site in the morning. The kids loved the built-in bunk-beds, as each felt they had their own cozy space once the curtains were drawn. The deck is amazing, and the property feels exclusive, being one of only a few at the end of a private road. I highly recommend it.
This beach cabin was wonderful......so close to the beach with a beautiful and large deck...the cabin has a well-stocked kitchen lending it to an easy transition to cook in. There is a large BBQ grill with a gas lamp heater on the patio that is cozy for the cooler evenings.
Waking up in the morning to the sun rising from the top bedroom window is like no other. The weather was absolutely perfect for beach combing and relaxing. The history of Whidbey is an easy 1/2 day trip around the island.
We would choose this treasure of a place again.....
We enjoyed our stay at the DBBC very much! Perfect location for families with kids and dogs. The house is very comfortable and the view from every room and the spacious deck was so enjoyable. Highly recommend!
