I relocated to New York in 1996 and picked my favorite location to do so. Bought cottage the following year. I have been renting this cottage ever since with many repeat renters.
Doug Baer purchased this cottage in 1997
I have had a life long ambition to own property where I vacationed a a child. This cottage only is minutes away from that spot.
What attracted me to this property is the privacy in regard to proximity of neighboring cottage; light boat traffic at this section of the lake as well as its central location for many attractions such as wineries, museums and quaint villages.
Had the most wonderful week in this delightful cottage. The views was utterly fantastic and the weather was superb. the owner was great at responding and answering all your questions. Sitting on the porch and doing nothing but looking at the lake is the best thing in the world. We were close to good restaurants and the views of the wineries from above were unforgettable. Can't wait to go back again.
My family and I had a wonderful time at this cottage. The location is perfect and the view is incredible. The cottage sits right at the water. You can sit back, relax and enjoy the view on the wrap-around porch. Lots of room to spread out. Also, my family loved swimming and fishing right off the dock. The town is very close if you need anything or just want to browse in some of the little shops. The owner Doug is a great guy, very friendly and helpful.
I've stayed here a number of times with a group of women friends in the fall. This is a great place. Lots of room to sleep, and so close to the lake you can hear the water as you go to sleep. It has a "great room" kitchen-living room combination that's perfect for a group of friends. The dock is an excellent place to sit and read sun or enjoy the Beautiful view. The house is well-maintained and the owner lives nearby. It's very private. I really recommend this house.
My family drove 5 hours to visit the Finger Lakes this year. With a limited budget, it was very difficult to find somewhere within our price range for a family of 7 that accepted dogs. Luckily, I ran across this great lake house. I really was not sure of what to expect (the previous photos were hard to make out) but found the owner, Doug, was very pleasant & accommodating. When we got to the house, we were all so alarmed. It was so much more than what we expected. The house is literally on the lake and the rooms were perfect. Doug even let us use the canoe & left us firewood in the fire pit. The family had a great time and we hope to visit again. The only thing I would warn about is that if you have any mobility issues, this may not be the place for you. We all were fine going up & down the stairs but I couldn't see my 85 year old grandma making it up & down those stairs without huffing & puffing. But other than that minor issue (which wasn't issue for us), the place is a perfect place to relax & take in some fresh air. If this place is available, I say go for it! Thanks Doug making our trip so pleasant!!
Situated in the Finger Lakes Wine Country with many wineries neaerby. The Glenn Curtis Musem is a great place to visit, as well as the Corning Museum of Glass. Watkins Glen State Park is minutes away and provides hiking and gorgeous views of the glen.
