About Karen Mazzulla

We began coming to Captiva many years ago, and eventually bought the Captiva Villa in 1999. Our children grew up coming to the island as often as we possibly could! Eventually, we moved to the area permanently, and we still go out to the island as often as we can!

Karen Mazzulla purchased this house in 1999

Why Karen Mazzulla chose Captiva Island

We hope you enjoy our little slice of paradise as much as we have over the years! Captiva is a magical place, and the Captiva Villa is the perfect place to explore the island!!!

Captiva Villa

We had an awesome stay! We arrived a little bit earlier and stopped to check to see if we might be able to drop off our stuff until check in time and we found the owner, who is just wonderful! She took me on a tour of the house and showed me around and I have to say the house was beautiful! I could not believe that this house was rented out! It was like walking into a showcase! We did not want for anything at this home! It was an easy walk to the beach on one side or the marina on the other side. We did have my in laws with us who are 80+ so the walk to and from the beach was a bit much for them but we rented a golf cart and it worked perfectly! We would spend the day at the beach, come back to the house for another swim in the pool before getting ready to go out to dinner. Each bedroom having it's own shower/bath was a godsend! I would definitely stay in the house again and I would definitely recommend this house to everyone!!!

Great vacation spot

  • 5 of 5
Captiva Villa is a wonderful place for a family vacation. We are an extended family of eleven (six adults, five children seven and under, including two babies). There was plenty of room for all of us and the house is spread out so one never feels a lack of privacy. It is well stocked in terms of vacation needs and it was especially nice to have plenty of beach towels.

The kids loved the pool and all the beach toys provided. The beach (great sand, shells, and warm water) is a two minute walk so it's easy to go back and forth with kids and beach paraphernalia (an ice chest, cart, beach chairs, sand toys, boogie boards and a variety of floatation devices were found in the pool storage room). The Island Store plus a number of restaurants and a marina are within easy walking distance, but the house is on a quiet street with almost no foot or vehicle traffic.

We met the owner twice and she was both helpful and knowledgeable. We have rented a number of houses in a variety of places and this was certainly one of the best!

I want to thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home. The inside decorative style reflected the natural beauty of the island itself. My husband and I stayed here for our 25th anniversary for a trip we will never forget. Karen the owner was our first contact for the home, she then turned us over to American Realty of Captiva the property managers both were very informative, prompt, accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Staying in the home reminded me of living in a tree top house. The lush landscaping was beautiful. When we walked in I was surprised by how roomy the house was. We only used maybe a third of it. The upstairs is almost separate from the main part of the home. Not only was it wonderful for just the two of us but would be great for a couple families or a few couples. The pool area was a welcome respite after a day on the beach. We used the grill a few times while we were there and had no problems at all. They have some beach chairs for your use along with rafts and sand toys. We left behind our snorkel mask since we were flying in and I'm guessing that's how most of the extras were accumulated. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots, pans, utensils, glassware and dish towels, there wasn't anything we had a want for. There was salt and pepper and a couple spices but you can pick up what you want at the Island Store which is a very short walk away. We didnt shop on the way into town but instead made do at the Island Store which had pretty much everything we needed. We flew in with just a backpack each and brought very little. We had most meals at the house but there are plenty of places to eat all within easy walking distance. The one photo of the master bath shower makes it look small which it is not, its huge. The unique furniture was comfortable and homey and the living and dining area are a perfect way to unwind after all the walking on the beach looking for shells. Lanai and porch were great! There are books, puzzles and a game set available for rainy day entertainment but thankfully we lucked out with weather. Would recommend you bring the no-see-um spray, water shoes if your doing a boat trip out to North Captiva, plenty of suntan lotion, sunglasses but again all of this can be purchased there. We also rented a golf cart during out stay which was a hoot. One of the best parts was when we had to leave, take trash out, start a load of laundry and run dishwasher. P.S. Wifi code is underneath router.

Captiva Villa - Beautiful Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5
We had a great stay at Captiva Villa! The home is equipped with everything you need. Very clean and decorated nicely. Enjoyed the pool after the beach. Short walk to beach down a sandy lane. Spectacular sunsets. Saw dolphins, sting rays, sanddollars, and even a manatee. Easy walk to restaurants. This was our first visit to Captiva and we can't wait to return. Great place to stay for family vacation! Owner very helpful answering questions and giving tips on Captiva. Amazing vacation!
