3 bedroom en-suite villa with pool sleeps 8, near Balchik

Villa constructed in 2008 large open-plan villa with pool and BBQ area. Sleeps 8. Village location, 15 minutes drive to the beaches of Balchik, Kavarna and White Lagoon. Blacksea Rama and The Lighthouse Golf Resorts 15 minutes away. 25 minutes drive to Albena, Golden Sands and Cape Kaliakra Nature Reserve. 45 minutes drive from Varna Airport. The villa is in the centre of the village which has a church, 2 parks and food shops selling locally grown garden produce. The village is ideal for walking, cycling and bird watching. There is a Taxi and Bus service to nearby market towns.

Hi,

Welcome to Villa Rena. The villa is named after my Mother. I was born in Scotland and now live most of the year in Gurkovo. I have been married 26 years to Tommy who is currently working in Perth, Australia. He returns here as often as possible to enjoy the relaxed village life, a beer by the pool and of course to see me. I fly out to OZ in the winter months, when it can be minus 25 degrees here in Bulgaria, which isn't too bad as the villa is lovely and warm with the wood burning stove and the winter sunshine to cheer you up.

Well that's a little bit about me,

Gurkovo is a lovely village approximately 15 min drive from the seaside town of Balchik and the same distance to the new golf courses of Blacksea Rama and The Lighthouse Golf Resort. The village has food shops selling locally grown garden produce. Gurkovo village is ideally situated for a peaceful family holiday or if more excitement is needed, Albena, Golden Sands Resorts and White Lagoon are all nearby with all seaside activities including go-carting and quad biking.

Wonderful place

The house is really nice. I went there with a business partner and our girlfriends. We had wonderful time and wanted to stay even more.

The beds are very comfortable. We liked the wooden furniture very much.

During the days you can go to some of the beaches nearby or visit local sightseeing places like Balchik or Kaliakra. We spent the evenings outside near the pool. There is also a grill for preparing BBQ.

We were very pleased to find that pets were allowed in the house. We took our dogs and they were very happy running around all the time.

We would love to go there again.

Chill out in Gurkovo

A magnificent villa far superior than a five star hotel with the added bonus of your own pool. Situate in a quite village where you can really experience the true Bulgarian way of life - slow pace and very laid back. There are three shops where you can purchase the basic provisions and local produce. Take a trip into Kavana or Balchik for your supermarkets.
The owners of the villa live next door and are more than happy to suggest local walks, place to visit and if you have any problems on hand to assist - very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. There is also a small car you can hire.
A trip into Balchik is recommended where there are numerous pubs/restaurants to sample (the drink being very cheap) and a walk along the sea front either during the day or night is a must.
After staying here you will know you have been in the 'lap of luxury' and far away from the rush and push of your normal life leaving you totally relaxed and refreshed.
Would have no hesitation in recommending the property to a friend or relative.
Already booked up for 2012.

A really lovely modern villa set in the middle of a vlllage so you can see the bulgarian way of life and drink with the locals,its really cheap drink.The village is surrounded by lovely walks with the open country side on your doorstep It is only about 15mins drive to Kavana,where they have rock bands in the open air or Balchic which has several restaurants by the sea with really good food.The villa is an ideal position for exploring the blacksea coast or just chilling out by the pool.The owners have a small car for hire,which was very useful for our stay.Brilliant holiday and will be looking to book again.

Had a wonderful Holiday in Gurkovo.

Beautifully furnished Villa with all mod. cons.,including Wi -Fi and a great pool with kid's section .Situated in a quiet village with friendly locals.Local food shops 5 mins. walk from villa,selling locally grown produce .Children's play park in centre of village .Lots of lovely walks. Owner being friendly and helpful ,without being intrusive.Car available for hire from owner.Nearest seaside town of Balchik 15 min's away .Golf course and spa.10 min's away.Family had a great time! highly recommended and will be back.
