The overall architecture of our recently built custom home is Spanish Californian, with traditional and elegant accents throughout the entire home. Our home sits on top of a hill, with breathtaking views of rolling hills, large estates of Fairbanks Ranch, canyons views both in front and back yard with a stream, wild life, horse trails, hiking paths and more! The vision of this beautifully spacious interior is crisp white walls as you walk into the grand entrance that is welcoming and impressive! Warm wood floors and beams, 20 foot vaulted ceiling combined with a large scaled fireplace, and stone-look console table add touches of splendor. A large scaled sofa with customized back cushions, and hand selected designer fabrics add softness and comfort in an otherwise formal room. Accent seating and beautifully sculpted cocktail table compete the look for this area. This is a room for hanging out with the family or entertaining with friends.
Outdoor patio area:
Due to the location and architectural layout of the home, the vision of this space is a comfortable retreat. As the three huge pocket doors disappear into the wall, it’s difficult to determine whether you are indoors or out. With a beautifully landscaped vanishing edge pool and Jacuzzi in the distance, and gorgeous Spanish traditional tile surround the fireplace, this spot is the place to be used year round. A custom designed floor to ceiling drapery will close off the space to block out the elements or if you are looking for some extra privacy. There is a large sectional sofa, along with over sized chairs and the console table has 4 additional hidden seats. A nine foot shuffleboard table sits behind the couch welcoming those with a bit of a competitive spirit. A ping pone table is also available in the garage.
Master Suite: Large master bedroom with built in plasma TV, surround sound, DVD player, sliding doors with invisible screens that lead out to the Jacuzzi and salt water pool. Exquisite ceiling to floor black out drapery when a good night sleep is needed or shear drapery when you want to smuggle up on the massage bed and read a book or watch one of your favorite movies.
After a trip of a life time to Kenya Africa on a safari with our best friends, we come home to the news that our entire home was destroyed by the October, 2007 wild fires that ravaged the San Diego area. In utter shock and disbelief, we made the drive from lax to San Diego in silence and tears! That was our sad story then but 3 years later with the help, support, and love of family, friends, contractors, and our designers at sense of style interiors they have assisted in creating our family’s dream home! Elements of Feng shui were incorporated when possible in the selection of materials, finishes and furnishings. The ancient methods of Chinese philosophical design have brought good energy and chi into our home.
According to Greek and Egyptian mythology, the phoenix bird is a resurrected creature that is created out of its own ashes, to be born again with a new spirit and life. This is how we see our home!! We hope you will too! Enjoy!
Kathy Clark purchased this house in 2009
Staying at this property in Rancho Sante Fe, CA was truly fantastic! It was 5-Star all the way. It offers a serene, peaceful retreat from the hustle-bustle of Southern California yet close proximity to the beaches, Del Mar Race Track, wine tasting, fantastic restaurants, Lego Land, Sea World, San Diego Zoo and great shopping too. After fun filled site seeing, we definitely used the salt water pool along with the Jacuzzi! The home is truly beautiful inside and out--the feeling was right out of Architectural Digest Magazine. It was thoroughly cleaned and appreciated the new towel, sheets, bedding, and pillows solely used when the home is rented. The overall feel for this home is completely welcoming.
Cooking in the gourmet kitchen and eating the organic herbs, fruits and vegetables garden added another dimension to the wholesome and healthy space. Everything we needed was right there including a well-stocked refrigerator before having to go grocery shopping in the red convertible Mercedes that was also available to rent for our use. Arriving late at night, to our delight, waiting for us was a fresh, homemade quiche that was ready for us to pop in the oven in the morning to enjoy!
Thank you for a memorable stay in your beautiful home and will be returning next year!
