I stayed at this condo for a week in March but I've also stayed in the summer time. It is outstanding in every way. Lots of homey touches... beautifully decorated throughout. First class kitchen for gourmet chefs. The layout is great as everyone can be together in the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. The Eagle River runs right outside the door and shops/bars/restaurants are walking distance. I would definitely rent this place again.
Thank you Cherryl and Tom for a great place for our family reunion.
This unit is wonderful! Location, layout, décor, furnishings and amenities are exemplary.
We had six adults and two teenagers staying here and everybody thought it was great.
The unit overlooks the Eagle River, which is great to listen to while you are relaxing on the deck or going to sleep; it is located within walking distance or a very short drive to many shops, grocery stores, etc. and it is on a hiking/bike path.
The unit is nicely appointed and furnished to accommodate a fairly large group, and the kitchen is well equipped to feed them all including salt and pepper grinders, many seasonings and coffee filters.
In addition, there is a sizable propane grill on the deck.
The washer, drier and dishwasher were also greatly appreciated.
There are many summer activities in addition to the skiing, and there are books to read, games to play and a gas log fireplace to relax in front of.
Two of the bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, and there are extra linens and towels, soap, facial tissue, TP, laundry detergent, dish soap, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, etc.
There is plenty of storage space including some cupboards in the garage stairway.
The only deficiency noted was that the trash can is a bit small for a large group eating all meals on paper plates and creating a lot of trash, but the dumpster is only a few feet across the driveway in a separate garage. All in all, a good time was had by all, and we would love to come back here in the future.
On our first visit, after a long flight with connections to get to Eagle and then Avon, our family was very, happily surprised to find such a clean, well-kept, warm-and-homey location. We cranked up the fireplace immediately, unpacked, and reconvened in the kitchen area for snacks. There was plenty of room to store our personal items including large luggage and ski/boarding equipment.
The kitchen seemed incredibly well-equipped. We didn't steal anything, but did discover some really useful items that we bought for our home in Florida upon our return.
Our 2 weeks were great (except for some days of minimal fresh snow). The location seemed great for us, especially the next of 3 annual visits to this same condo, after the gondolo was completed across the street. We had a rental car, making trips to stores really convenient. But actually everything was in walking distance for us.
If the condo-owners could promise us powder every day, and keep us safe from injuries, this place would be perfect. And a bargain for the area and location!
This place is so much nicer than your average rental apartment. Very well equipped, especially in the kitchen. The layout is open and airy because it is a corner unit... very conducive to family and group gatherings as the large living room/dining area/kitchen brings everyone together. Excellent privacy due to the two story layout. My wife and I have stayed here in summer and winter and loved it both times. You can walk across the road to the Westin and use the gondola to get up the mountain and you can also walk fewer steps to the free shuttle bus. You can walk to restaurants, bars, shopping -- 5-10 minutes by foot. We'll be back!
Out of the eight visits to Colorado, our favorite experience was our stay at this home in Avon. It was very clean, we were able to walk to stores and restaurants, shopping and the ski lift. When we wanted to get out, there was plenty of sight-seeing, hiking, and fun things to do within 15 - 30 minutes. The soothing sound of the river flowing in the back off the deck was heavenly. Everything we needed or wanted was available. We loved it!
We have stayed in this unit twice and have enjoyed our stay there each time. The unit has top end appliances and the furnishings are beautiful. I hope our plans bring us back to Avon!
