We love boating, fishing and family. We chose to have a home in Point Loma because this is an outstanding San Diego location. We are close to downtown and can quickly and easily go to the theater, great restaurants and major events whenever we want. The Point Loma area is very attractive as a quieter and almost hidden escape while still in the middle of the action. We have found so many wonderful restaurants right here within walking distance of the condo and of course we love to stroll along the bay. We can become tourists just by walking out the door. This area is a perfect place for family to great and join us in our favorite activities.

The location is amazing and offers the best possible version of the San Diego lifestyle.
This building is fairly new and so well designed. We knew the moment we walked inside, we had found what we were looking for. We use the heated pool, the exercise room and the little library a lot. When family comes over we use the pool table and have had gatherings around the large screen TV room. This is an elegant place to live.
This is a walking neighborhood, near the Bay and everything that interests us. We love to go downtown and really love how close and easy it is to get there. We walk to so many wonderful restaurants, eclectic shops and entertainment venues. Everything we need is convenient from this location. We have watch the sun rise over the city across the bay and watched it set over Point Loma as the city turns to twilight with red and pink hues.
Our recent stay in San Diego proved to be a winner with the first time use of a vacation rental in Point Loma. We found this complex to be in the perfect location for everything we wanted to do. We could walk to so many restaurants and loved walking along the bay at night or taking the little path to Kellogg beach in the morning. It is also very close to downtown San Diego and made it easy to make last minute plans for events or entertainment.
The condo is bright and comfortable with truly nice furniture. We loved the complex and used the fitness room, played pool and even watched TV in their TV room. If we had more time I would have enjoyed the library. We are definitely coming back to the Yacht Club Guest House. I highly recommend this condo.
Nice location with several stores and restaurants within walking distance. Quiet and felt safe. Gym and pool were adequate. Decor was nice with a nautical theme. Parking was covered and gated. Only negative was you could here the tenants upstairs fighting and the fact that I have not received my 500 dollar security deposit after two weeks. I shouldn't have to call management to get word on the return. Still playing a little phone tag. Hope getting the return will soon be expedited. This process should have been figured out but it feels like it's something new and some brainstorming is going on.
My family of four (including two boys, aged 11 and 14) stayed here during our first trip to San Diego. It was exactly as promised, but much bigger than expected. The location of the condo is perfectly situated for exploring all of what San Diego has to offer. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend others staying here as well.
The condo was impeccably maintained, very clean, in a quiet but nice neighborhood, and afforded us the opportunity to come and go to all points around San Diego with ease. Our boys especially appreciated the pull out sofa topper, as without it, it may not have been as comfortable.
We didn't have time to take advantage of many of the amenities, such as the pool, but we did use the billiards table (some chalk for the sticks would have been helpful!) but the pool area seemed very clean and would have been nice to swim in.
Our deposit was returned promptly, and so all in all, a very enjoyable visit, and if we ever return to San Diego, we would gladly stay again.
The only downside I could say about this unit, is that it's not 100% handicapped accessible, since even though there is an elevator to the second floor, you have to go through a heavy fire door and down a few steps before you can reach the hallway to the unit. It wasn't an issue for us, but I thought I'd mention it in case it was for others.
There is little we can add to the other reviews which we found to be accurate and very useful but would definitely agree that the location is perfect for just about anywhere you want to get to in and around San Diego. The condo was clean and well equipped throughout and perfect for the 2 of us. We enjoyed many walks in the local area, especially late afternoon at the park on Shelter Island. We felt safe and "at home" here.
A bonus was the underground secure allocated parking.
We spent 10 days here and did not get to see everything which means we'll just have to return and we hope it will be here.
My daughter and I were really pleased with this condo at the Yacht Club Condos. It was clean, safe, well designed and decorated with great care. The location could not be better for seeing the sights of San Diego. Most places were only a 10 minute drive away. The owner was a great communicator and very helpful. The extra amenities of the condo like the pool, billiards table and fitness room were also appreciated. Don't hesitate to rent here. It is awesome!
I have to say that this was a very enjoyable stay. It is a studio-like apartment and is big enough for 5 people, maybe more, and the area is definitely San Diego upscale. Very quiet - so quiet we were able to leave the windows opened all night and still slept well (and being on the second floor safe to leave the windows opened all day, too.) There is a little beach area that is a minute walking distance, and if you walk even further there is a bigger beach area a mile up the road. It is only a few miles, almost in direct route, from SeaWorld, and very close to Sunset Cliffs and so I didn't have to do much driving. There's a farmer's market a block away on Sundays, and two coffee shops nearby. Close proximity to grocery stores. Beds were comfortable, kids had no problems with fold out couch and air mattress. The secured parking was reassuring. The only suggestion I would make is to make it possible for renters to access the laundry room (which is operated by a card with credits). However, a laundry mat is only 2 blocks away anyway. The agent is very easy to communicate with and the kids had a great time.
Located on Shelter Island in the charming, upscale yacht club neighborhood of Point Loma, the Guest House is within walking distance to some of the hottest spots in San Diego.
Walk down the street to some of the cities best restaurants, like the wonderful Italian, Old Venice, the new and trendy, Gaberdine, The familiar Brigantine and many more from casual to elegant dining - all within walking distance of this charming home.
Just a little bit further, a mile and a half, will take you to Liberty Station a former military base converted to a 361-acre community, which includes 125 acres of parks, open space and a boat channel; shopping villages and restaurants; a 28-acre civic, arts and cultural district and the nine-hole Sail Ho Golf Club.
Or delight in the unexpected only 4 miles away in Old Town where you will find many unique shopping experiences, a cultural park with festivities and more great restaurants.
The Gaslamp Quarter of downtown San Diego, the Convention Center, fun Little Italy and the many restaurants, entertainment venues and nightclubs are only a 10 minute drive.
Balboa Park, the world famous Zoo and the many museums and attractions are only 8 miles away.
Or stay close to home and take a scenic stroll along pathway to Kellogg beach, just outside your door.
The Guest House invites you to full use of the heated outside pool, the work out facilities, recreation room with pool table and the meeting rooms that are all available in the complex.
Hike over the hill and watch the sun set over Sunset Cliffs Park or watch the city turn beautiful colors across the bay.
This location offers it all.
You will find Point Loma, Harbor Island and Shelter Island about 6 miles just West of downtown San Diego
This area feature picturesque marinas from which sport fishing excursions, whale watching tours and harbor cruises depart. A peninsula jutting into the sea, it's easy to think of Point Loma as a dead end - 'land's end' in fact. But, as the site where San Diego was discovered in the first place, it seems more appropriate to consider Point Loma as a starting point - the start of a new land, a new dream, a new way of looking at things. And that's just the place to start your own exploration of San Diego, with a voyage around Point Loma, Harbor Island and Shelter Island.
A nautical atmosphere prevails on Shelter Island, one of San Diego's principal boating centers, where marinas, resort hotels, restaurants and bay side parks welcome sailors and landlubbers with recreational amenities. Many short and long-range sport fishing trips depart from here, catching a host of Pacific fish like Yellowtail, Albacore, Halibut, Dorado, Calico Bass and a variety of rock fish. Shelter Island is also home to Humphreys Half Moon Inn, and their summer Concerts By The Bay, which attract nationally known musicians and comedians. At the end of Shelter Island, you'll find the Yokohama Friendship Bell, a large bronze bell housed in a pagoda structure, that was a gift from the city of Yokohama, Japan in 1958 to commemorate the sister city relationship between San Diego and Yokohama.
Truly a vacation paradise!
