2 bedroomed cottage sleeping 4/5 with large private garden

The West Lodge is a delightful detached country cottage with its own large private garden. It is comfortably furnished with two bedrooms, cosy sitting room, dining/ activities room bathroom with shower and brand new kitchen. To either side and behind the garden are the mature mixed woodlands of Kinblethmont estate. The West Lodge is set back from the road with a lovely large mature garden all round the house containing shrubs and plum trees. The garden is open to the road however there is a walled in area for small children/pets (the wall is about 2 foot tall). There is also outdoor seating and a BBQ. Behind the house is a farm road that leads through unspoilt woodland into the heart of Kinblethmont estate. There is a bus stop near the cottage for buses to Arbroath (approx every 2 hours during day time) and Letham Grange golf course is just opposite.

Angus is one of the great secrets of Scotland. It has it all - fabulous beaches, gentle rolling arable farms and the stunning Angus Glens. There are many excellent local tourist attractions and you are well placed to visit attractions further afield. The weather is often cool but you can be pleasantly surprised by beautifully sunny and warm days even in April and it is dryer here than in the West. Thankfully the gentle breezes mean that midges are never a problem here at Kinblethmont! Our local town is Arbroath with a pretty marina and harbour where you can still see Arbroath smokies being smoked. It has several supermarkets, butchers, fishmongers etc and many other useful shops and well as some nice restaurants. There are theatres, cinemas and tourist attractions in Dundee only 1/2 hour away. Attractions of historic interest include Glamis castle, Stirling Castle, Scone palace, Donnatar castle all within driving distance as well as the magnificent ruins of Arbroath Abbey.

Sweet little hide-away, perfect for golf (600m)

We were a group of 7 persons and were very happy and satisfied with Kinblethmont house. The rooms are perfect and nearly new with a great living room and a perfect kitchen with everything in it. A big barbecue grill (gas) is also provided.

The house is very clean and quiet, ideal for a relaxing holiday.

We hope that we can return next year again.

We had a lovely stay at the West Lodge. The cottage was as described, and very clean and well-equipped. The owner was very helpful from the time we made the first contact, from accommodating our additional guests, providing us with a grill, to thoughtfully leaving us some biscuits and milk at the cottage. The cottage was very clean and very well-maintained.

The cottage is in a very good location to explore the area, and there is plenty to do. It certainly helps as the owner gave us lots of useful tips. We explored the beach in the nearby area, which is absolutely lovely, and we were lucky with the weather.

Would definitely recommend this cottage!

We had a very enjoyable stay at West Lodge. It is fitted and furnished to a high standard and had a homely feel. The welcome pack was much appreciated.

The information booklet supplied after booking was very comprehensive and helpful.

I would recommend West Lodge to couples and families who require first class accommodation which is ideally situated for a visit to the north east of Scotland.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at West Lodge. The cottage was charming and a wonderful base for visiting other areas....as the visitors book will show!

We really enjoyed walking the lanes around West Lodge, and wonder how the cottage in the lane is going to be renovated and will it be for let!?!?

We went all over the place during the day,and came home to a warm and welcoming cottage in the evening,finishing off with a great pint & a 1/2 at Letham Grange,lovely friendly staff and a great bar!

Comfy bed, wonderful kitchen,lovely shower,nice and peaceful, what more could you need....we'll be back!!!!!!!!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

The lanes behind the lodge are lovely for walks and though the cottage mentioned is being renovated for my brother in law to live in we do hope to convert the old stable block for Kinblethmont House into holiday accommodation in the near future.
I'm glad to hear that Letham Grange Hotel was a success as it has recently been reopened - it is very convenient for the West Lodge.
