Overview

Chamonix Chalet Rental Photos and Description

1 bedroomed chalet, sleeping up to 4 or 5 near the centre of Chamonix

The Petit Chalets are part of the Barrats camping ground. This is closed to campers during the winter, giving plenty of space for the chalets.

Each chalet has been built to a high standard in a traditional style. Petit Chalet Bleu is a 2 bedroom chalet, with a double bedroom, a second bedroom with bunkbeds and 2 single sofabeds in the living area.

Alongside the bedrooms, the chalets comprise a fully equipped kitchen with electric hob, microwave oven, fridge and dishwasher, open-plan living area with flat screen TV, and a shower room. Each chalet has a private terrace with fabulous mountain views, small garden and parking.

The main campsite building (30 metres away) has ski lockers and heated boot racks.

Skiing and snowboarding: Chamonix is one of the world's most famous ski areas, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. Skiers and snowboarders of all levels are well-served in a variety of differing areas around Chamonix, including Brevent, Flegere, the famous Grands Montets and Domaine du Balme. The Mont Blanc pass also covers nearby areas including Les Houches, St Gervais, Megeve, Courmayeur and Les Contamines, all within an easy drive. Slightly further afield, but within an hour's drive are Verbier, La Thuile, Flaine and Les Carroz. Despite its reputation as an area for experts only, there are plenty of green, blue and red runs to satisfy beginners and intermediates alike. For the more experienced, Chamonix has miles and miles of adventurous off-piste, including the famous Vallee Blanche, an 18 km experience from the Aiguille du Midi down to the town.

Summer and the rest of the year: With the draw of Europe's premier natural attraction, Mont Blanc, Chamonix never sleeps. Whether it's simply to soak up the stunning scenery or get the adrenaline pumping, there is plenty for everybody to do all year round. There are a wide variety of marked trails for hiking and trekking; well-maintained bolted routes for rock-climbing; limitless mountaineering opportunities including Mont Blanc itself; an ever-expanding network of mountain bike trails; some of the most consistent thermals for superb paragliding; raging white water rapids for rafting and hydro speeding; canyoning and abseiling down the spectacular valley gorges; golf at the Trent Jones Sr designed 18 hole course in Chamonix, as well as many other top quality courses nearby; the sports centre has an indoor and outdoor 50 m swimming pool and a large grassed sunbathing area, water slides, numerous tennis courts, gym, spa, jacuzzi, the list goes on!

Chalet is perfectly situated, in a nice and calm place where you can get all the types of the vocation you want, but still close to the center of the Chamonix - around 10 minutes of slow walking!
it's a newly built chalet, clean, high ergonomic and convenient. you can use also a BBQ set and a dryer for your "stuff" in winter time. and there's only a one little problem - you have toaster, electric kettle, coffee machine (i still don't know how it works)) an electric cooking panel and even a dish washer - but unfortunately there's no washing machine! we had enough clothes to make it till the end of our stay, but if you're bringing just a couple of trousers and t-shirts you have to think where you gonna wash them))
for your money you also getting a satellite TV with a few channels broadcasting in your language (there were 4 Russian) and a whole bunch of a french channels) - but i think this isn't a place to watch a TV
also you have an internet access by means of WI-FI to get in touch with your friends and relatives, signal strength is pretty well everywhere around the chalet, but the channel is week and when camping is full of visitors you wouldn't be able even to do a voice Skype call.
when you getting in the first time - you can be surprised about the real size of the chalet - to me it seemed much spacey at the photo, but few minutes later you'll understand that this is a perfect and very cosy place to spent some holiday time, with a beautiful views around!
Special thanks to Valerie - she was very kind to us and always helped us or gave some advice when we needed!
