The location is in a very quiet area, although a bit away from the beach and restaurants. Hence, I would recommend to have a car during a stay here. It is possible to walk to the beach, but there are better beaches short distances away with car to spend time at. No restaurants or nightlife in walking distance. There is a golf club close by and in the same building there is a fitness center. They have e.g. spinning classes. We used this apartment as a base for several daytrips, e.g. Ronda, Los Pueblos Blancos, Gibraltar, Tarifa, Estepona, Marbella and Puerto Banus. The apartment was clean and welcoming when we arrived, which is always nice. We found everything we needed for a pleasant stay, and it is always good to be at a place with a kitchen where the equipment we need is actually there in order to cook. There were aboslutely no traces of any smoking inside, which was highly appreciated by us. The AC in the apartment is exactly what most Norwegians hope to find in warmer countries, it keeps the apartment cool when you need it to be. The bed in the master bedroom is a bit soft, and the two beds in the other bedroom was just right (for us)! We really enjoyed our ten days and we can absolutely recommend this. Thank you.

I have always been fascinated by travellers and travel. In 1987 my family and I moved to a Georgian rectory in Malvern, Worcestershire, which my husband and I took great pleasure in restoring, gradually opening up different parts as holiday accommodation for visitors to this beautiful part of the UK. We ran it as a hugely successful holiday business, with two self-catering apartments in the wing, and the converted coach house as a picturesque holiday cottage, together with 4 en-suite bedrooms in the main house for B&B guests, and earning the prestigious 4 red stars award from the AA.

Diana Knight purchased this apartment in 2006

In 2000 we had the opportunity and funds to venture into the Spanish holiday business, purchasing and upgrading a villa in Fuengirola, which we sold as a successful going concern 4 years later. At this point, we decided to purchase a brand new property in a quality location, with on-site facilities such as pools and tropical gardens, besides being in an ideal location for the discerning holiday maker. So we chose our sea view apartment on Casares del Sol, naming it 'La Palmera' after our first villa. Our first letting was in 2008. We now also own a wonderful villa in the north Costa Blanca, which we have nearly finished extending and upgrading, adding our own pool, garden plants, and terraces, to which we escape as often as commitments allow. We are now retired and reside on the edge of the beautiful Cotswolds, and close to Stratford-upon-Avon.

From 'La Palmera' Apartment one is immediately impressed by the glorious setting, nestling in the protection of the mountains and looking down to the sparkling blue sea. Sitting on the terrace it is a real delight to soak up the majesty and peace of the surroundings. We are so pleased to be able to share this unique experience with others, and so endeavour to offer every home comfort that the discerning holiday maker would expect of a quality holiday property.

LOVELY APARTMENT

The apartment is very clean , well looked after on a beautiful complex.
The plants & flowers are contently watered & groomed & everywhere is spotlessly clean. Nice pool area ,plenty of sun loungers, never crowded with a friendly mix of ex pats & holiday makers. We hired a car from Malaga & it takes around an hour to arrive driving dual carriageways. Easy to find with Diana's directions & you use the same dual carriageway if you want a day in Gibraltar.Gib is around 30 minutes drive & one evening looking for somewhere to eat I said pick up the passports we'll cross the boarder & eat at the marina. Its that near. We found the easiest way was to park in the border town of la Linea , park in the underground car park which is around 100/200 metres to the boarder. Coming out one night the Spanish police started a go slow for the traffic but walking over was no problem. The apartment is only one roundabout away from Sabinillas on the dual carriageway so the supermarkets are on your doorstep. The whole area has a very safe feel & all entrances & exits are looked & unlocked with a fob. Very simple method. If you want a relaxing break I'd definitely recommend you book Diana's apartment.

IDEAL FAMILY HOLIDAY RENTAL

Would recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxed stay on a well maintained and friendly complex away from the hustle and bustle but conveniently placed for amenities and exploring the towns of this beautiful bit of the Spanish coastline.
The apartment was ideal for us (family of four with boys aged 9 and 11) and very good value for the height of the season. Exactly as described, situated looking over the gardens with a pool just a minutes walk away. The apartment was very comfortable, well equipped and maintained, clean and very easy to live in. The pool was excellent, clean and great fun for the kids. Plenty of sunbeds dotted around the pool too so ideal for the adults as well!
The complex is just a short drive from Estepona where there are lovely restaurants, cafes and shops as well as a long beach. Puerto Banus is just a little further and the ports of Sotogrande and De Quesa are also close by.
The communication from the owner was excellent and made the booking process very easy and stress-free. All in all it was an ideal holiday rental, highly recommended for couples and families alike.

HOME FROM HOME, GREAT FOR A LONG WINTER STAY

We rented this property for the month of February in 2013 and have just returned. One of the key things you would look for in a property that you are going to live in for a month is that it is the characteristics of someone's home and not just a rental property. This fulfils those requirements - good quality furniture, well maintained, clean and tidy, ornaments, pictures on the walls, etc. It is very obviously well cared for and well managed. Spotlessly clean when we arrived and very secure.

Estepona in February is a quiet area, except on Sundays when the harbour is busy with a market. However, it is not totally dormant as the shops and restaurants stay open, unlike other resort areas. Although developed for tourism, it retains its Spanish atmosphere. You can see looking around that the entire area is well suited to a holiday at any time of year - it will certainly be busy in high season, but not as manic as other resorts along the coast. The development itself is well maintained with some building maintenance work going on in the quite season (touching up building paintwork, reworking the gardens - that sort of thing). The site staff were very friendly as well.

The description of the property and the area is 100% accurate and Diana is very easy to deal with - friendly and professional.

For most of the time, it was just the two of us at the apartment, but our adult son and his girlfriend joined us for one week. The size of the apartment is fine for 4 adults, although with twin beds in the second bedroom, perhaps more suited to a family rather than 2 couples.

The location is good, too. Gibraltar is 20 minutes away, Malaga within an hour and everwhere else in between. Ronda is an easy journey and you could just about manage Seville, Cordoba or even Granada in a day trip although you'd be better off with an overnight stop.

GREAT LOCATION FOR RELAXATION OR SIGHTSEEING

We arrived to a flat that was exactly as described in the listing. It was quiet, well mantained and a nice location. Since we were traveling with our 2 and 4 yr olds, we were hoping for a place that we could relax and enjoy the water or do a bit more if we wanted. This provided an excellent opportunity for both. Our boys loved the pool and the nearby beaches, where we spotted jelly fish, octopus and sea urchins. We also took advantage of the local attractions, taking day trips ( 1 1/2 hr- 2 1/2 hr drives) to the white walled city of Ronda and it's bull ring,, GIbraltar and even Granada. Our hosts were even kind enought to recommend a babysitter so that my husband and I were able to go for tapas sin niños a couple of evenings. It was a trip to remember. I hope we are able to return soon!

GEWELDIG!

We zaten helaas maar 1 week in Estepona, maar gaan zeker terug. Dat we dit appartement nog een keer boeken is dan zeker. De eigenaren hebben echt aan alles gedacht. De afstand naar het strand is lopend te doen, een auto is echter wel noodzakelijk. Het complex is groot, maar toch is het er erg rustig, ideaal! Prachtig groot zwembad en mooie tuinen (alles schoon en goed onderhouden), verschillende golfbanen binnen 15 minuten rijden, ook op het complex zelf is leuke 9-holes baan (en betaalbaar). Ook iIk kan het iedereen aanraden om dit te boeken, communicatie met de eigenaar is perfect!

Estepona- 10 minutes drive. Wonderful 'Paseo Maritimo' with lush tropical gardens for your stroll along the seafront, and 3 glorious beaches with 'chirringuito' fish restaurants. Marbella and Puerto Banus offer a taste of the exotic lifestyle. Marbella's historic old town sits side by side with the boutiques of Prada and Gucci. Casares' pueblo blanco' clings to the mountains 10 minutes away, with eagles soaring high above, whilst Ronda, straddling the Tajo gorge, is about an hour's drive. Gibraltar is 20 minutes and offers duty free shopping and of course the apes! Our own local blue flag beach, Playa la Chica, is less than a kilometre, and easily walked.
