Photos and Description of the Salt Spring Island vacation cottage rental
Cottage, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

Fulford Cottage is about 500 square feet inside with 500 square feet of outside deck - all with magnificent views of the ocean and gulf islands. Watch the sun rise over Russell Island (a provincial park) and hear the waves lapping the beach from inside or outside the cabin. Enjoy watching sailboats and ferries slip by effortlessly, or stroll down along the beach to see abundant marine wildlife (crabs, clams, oysters, etc.).

The cabin has two queen sized beds - one in a loft the other below in one sleeping area (ideal for a family or close friends comfortable to sleep in the same area).

The property is a half acre of private waterfront on the south side of Salt Spring Island. The cabin sits on a high bank with over 200 feet of rock and pebble beach accessed by the private stairs down from the cabin (about 80 stairs and path).

Salt Spring offers the rural beauty of the gulf islands (great hiking, kayaking, swimming) with great pubs, restaurants, spas, golfing and other luxuries for great vacations.

About The Owner

Judy & Steve live in downtown Vancouver and enjoy escaping the frenetic pace of the city to life in the country on Salt Spring. On the island we swim in the lakes all summer (Stowell, St. Mary and Cusheon Lakes) and hike and kayak year round. We love eating outside on the deck, and spend quility time on the beach with our daughter exploring the marine life and relaxing.

It's been two years since we stayed here, but we still remember the great time we had! So quiet and peaceful but not far from all the activities you could ask for. There was a bit of a mix up about one bed not being made up, but we worked around that. We highly recommend this lovely spot surrounded by incredible natural beauty.

Thank you for an incredible 2 weeks. The cabin was perfect for the two of us, though we spent all our time outside down on the beach walking or siting on the deck... We enjoyed the outdoors (hiking, swimming, beachcombing and kayaking) as expected but were absolutely delighted by sitting on the deck taking in the view, and listening to seals play in the water in front of the cabin. Bob got a game of golf in while I toured pottery studios.

We were also astonished by the variety of artistry on Salt Spring - we did wine tastings at the two Island Vineyards, cheese tasting at artisan cheese producers, visited several artist studios (about 100 on the island!), and took in a play on the island. Also loved live music in the island pubs (how can a small island have so much live music, restaurants and pubs). Saturday artist market is incredible, Bob got a message which he needed after kayaking the day before.... Who knew there was so much to do on the island - you should tell people!!!.

We did a day trip to Butchart Gardens which was a perfect expedition, next time we will bring bikes try the interisland ferry for exploring other gulf islands.
