Spacious 3 bedroom apartment sleeps 6 in rural location set in its own grounds

Self-contained apartment in a recently renovated and extended 100 year old villa with all the modern facilities you would expect set in 1/2 acre of olive groves and fruit trees. There is a spacious sitting room with TV, DVD player and CD/radio/MP3 player, a separate kitchen/dining room. 2 double bedrooms with access to a balcony and terrace, a twin bedded room and spacious modern bathroom. There are several terraces around the house where you can relax, sun bathe, eat and drink with a full range of garden furniture. There is ample off road parking space. The area is peaceful and quiet apart from the odd tractor! The house is on the edge of the hilltop village of Vacri which has all essential amenities including shops, bank, post office, bars, cafes, chemist and church. There are lots of restaurants, pizzerias and trattorias within a short drive as well as a small shopping comple

More about our house: We have taken great care during the renovation and extension of our country villa to retain its traditional feel. There are very thick walls in the oldest parts, vaulted ceiling in the kitchen and timber shutters on all windows. The apartment is furnished to a high standard with a blend of traditional and contemporary design. The pictures are all my own photographs.

A contemporary designed extension harmonises with the old and provides additional rooms, a beech wood stair and great terraces for outdoor living and enjoyment.

The house has new electrics and central heating throughout with solar heating for hot water.

The house also contains a second smaller apartment mainly for our own use

We produce our own high quality olive oil and provide our guests with a bottle as well as complimentary wines from the local region.

We have recently added an en suite shower room to a ground floor double bedroom

Rome!: For something different you can make a day trip to Rome which is only 200kms (2 hours) drive away by easily accessible motorways. It is a great drive through the amazingly scenic Appenine mountain range or if you prefer you can travel by train from Pescara.

A 'dream holiday' location in rural Abruzzo which gives you easy access to explore and experience a huge variety of holiday activities. There is something for everyone! The Adriatic coast is a short drive away. There are many miles of varied coastline to explore and lots of beautiful safe beaches. The vibrant city of Pescara has sandy beaches, marina, harbour, modern shops and many bars, restaurants and busy night life.

You can explore ancient culture in the city of Chieti. The administrative centre of the area with imposing churches, museums and theatre between a coffee or a meal. There are lots of fascinating historical hilltop villages to discover whilst absorbing the amazing scenery and mountain views. You can often stand seeing the mountains and the sea!

If you enjoy unspoilt nature and outdoor activities the spectacular mountain ranges of the Maiella and Grand Sasso provide excellent hiking, walking and climbing in the huge National Parks. The winter snow is amazing and skiing is available for all ages and abilities at Passo Lanciano

Drive to the top of La Maielletta (2000m above sea level) and on a clear day you will experience amazing views across the countryside to the sea where you can see many miles of the coastline, as well as across to other mountains in the Maiella range. The Grand Sasso mountain range is also clearly visible.

  • The apartment will accommodate a maximum of 8 people. To accommodate 7 there is an additional charge of £25 for 8 people the additional charge is £50 which will be added to the above weekly rates.

    DISCOUNTS are available for stays of more than 7 days.

    We are flexible about change over dates though peak season changeover on Saturday is preferred.
    A 25% deposit is required to secure a booking.
    The remaining payment to be made minimum of 4 weeks before arrival date

    There is an additional charge if central heating is required the gas is charged at cost.

Casa Collina is ideal for a quiet 'away from it all' holiday. However at the same time you are only a short drive away from; Many miles of beautiful Adriatic coast which you can explore, enjoy the lovely blue flag beaches as well as take part in sailing and other beach sports and activities, Miglianico golf course (one of only 2 full sized courses in Abruzzo) is 10 minutes away, The National Parks and Maiella mountains where you can enjoy unspoilt nature as well as a wide variety of outdoor activities including, walking, hiking, cycling, riding or climbing and of course skiing in winter.

Set in a secluded area and the very end of a well made road, we had a marvellous time. Many properties promise but Casa Colina delivers, with a fully functional kitchen, great lounge area and large double shower in the bathroom!

We were in the property in November so any deficiencies with the house/heating would have shown up. It was warm, cosy and welcoming every time we returned. We met the neighbours– nice friendly people who did their best to speak a bit of English as our Italian is basic.

A relaxing time was had by us. A glowing reference to all including the ladies who take care of everything for the owners. It was our first time at Casa Ciollina but we will be back.

Lastly we assure you that we aren’t in anyway related to the owners, when something is good you should let others know!

"We enjoyed our stay in Casa Collina very much. The house is typical for the region and being located midway between mountains, the sea and many Abbruzian villages provided us with all options to fill our days. Especailly the beach in Francavilla was easy to reach and both children and parents enjoyed the sand and the water very much.
On our way back we would either enter a local restaurant or get fresh local groceries and prepare a meal in the spacious kitchen of the house. Afterwards we would sit on one of the terraces around the house and enjoy a
good glass of wine, local cheese and other local specialities.
For a change we visited the nearby Majella mountains and we went to visit one of the villages each of which having plenty of local specialities and (in August) music festivals making you wanting to stay till the end of the
night...
In short: A great area, a spacious house and very friendly hosts so we will certainly come back to see more!
