This 3-bedroom, 1-1/2 bath home is located in one of San Francisco’s best and most walkable neighborhoods. Step into this remodeled and updated 1901 Victorian single-family home. The expansive rooms have distinctive high ceilings and artwork to complement the surroundings. Many rooms have sweeping views of Golden Gate Park and local landmarks. 30-day minimum.
The first floor includes a spacious living room, large library with 3000 volumes, an updated kitchen with Viking gas range, a dining room that overlooks the garden, and a half bath. The backyard is landscaped and perfect for relaxing or soaking up the sun and has a small fish pond. The second floor has 3 bedrooms, a home office with wifi, and a full bath. Two of the three bedrooms face the garden, and are very quiet. A driveway provides for private parking.
The house is 3 blocks west of Laurel Village with two independent grocery stores (one even delivers to your door). If you head 3 blocks south to Clement St., there are fantastic Asian groceries with hard-to-find spices and more noodles than you can count. If you go 3 blocks north, you reach the Presidio and can pick up trails that lead to the Golden Gate Bridge. It provides the best combination of urban living and active Western lifestyle. Nearby are bus stops for convenient public transportation to all parts of the city and beyond. Take the #1 California bus to the Ferry Building and the weekly Farmer’s Market or the #33 bus to Golden Gate Park.
My husband and I purchased this home in 1995 and completely renovated it, keeping period details and adding modern amenities. We love the backyard garden and the privacy, while still enjoying the access to city events.

The neighborhood is just what we were looking for. It's 3 blocks from the Presidio and close to shops and restaurants. In addition, there is easy access to Golden Gate Park and downtown.
We love the safe and quiet location and the convenience of being able to walk and bike just about everywhere.
My husband and I spent a lovely week here and while we needed a car to get out to Marin, it's not at all necessary in this location. You've got easy access to buses on California st. and you're a very short walk to some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in the country. Golden Gate Park, terrific restaurants, several grocery stores, a drugstore, etc. are all right nearby. The house itself is as beautiful and elegant as pictured with a fully outfitted kitchen should you wish to stay in for dinner. The beds are truly comfortable and the neighborhood quiet and serene - it was hard to believe we were in the city. Oh, and a glorious garden! We would highly recommend staying here!
The rental was exactly as described and was just as the photos appeared. Very clean and eloquently updated! Within easy walking distance to public transportation, the Presidio, Golden Gate Bridge, a beach, coffee shops, salons, and fine dining. The owners left a nice "cheat sheet" on the home and how to navigate to local attractions. I would certainly stay here again and I will be recommending it to my acquaintances.
We recently stayed here on a family reunion and everyone loved it. The home is a wonderfully re-furbished Victorian. Our group of 6 had plenty of space as the bedrooms are all very large with high ceilings and nature light. There is a This home has a beautiful back yard which the dining area & master bedroom overlooks. The location was an easy 12 minute bus ride to Union Square, less than 8 blocks from Golden Gate Park & the best part is that you can walk from the house right to the Presidio and down to Golden Gate Bridge. You can't ask for a better location! I would definitely recommend staying here and our group can't wait to come back next year. Thank you for a great stay!
Presidio Heights is an elegant and tree-lined residential neighborhood. Just a few miles from downtown San Francisco, Presidio Heights is removed from the bustle of the city center, but still close to it all! It has its own lively mix of cafes, small shops, and restaurants that are all within easy walking distance. The neighborhood is bounded on the north by the Presidio, which provides easy access to the Golden Gate Bridge, trails, and 1400 acres of open space. Nearby Golden Gate Park is home to the de Young Museum and the California Academy of Sciences, designed by starchitects Herzog & De Meuron and Renzo Piano, respectively.
