There is an incredible pavilion next to the lagoon pool where you can gather with family and friends by the Viking grill and outdoor kitchen to host parties and special events.

Read a book or take a snooze in one of the dozens of cabanas available for the guests of the resorts. When thirst or hunger call, a full-service restaurant awaits mere steps from the beach and will tempt you with a tasty menu and specialty tropical beverages as you soak up the ocean views and the occasional breaching whale.
Ancient Fish Ponds are adjacent to the Beach Club, where you can spend hours studying how the ancient Hawaiians farmed the local fish.
Other attractions include the 5 star Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Fairmont Orchid Hotel. Both hotels are within walking distance and offer access to our guests, and most importantly our two award winning golf courses.

Dawne and John Knobbe are the owners. Dawne is an award winning author, editor, freelance writer and part time adventurer. She grew up in Vancouver but spent as much time as possible in the Gulf Islands, Cariboo-Chilcotin, Yukon and Alaska...and of course Hawaii. John grew up in California and is retired from the Los Angeles County Probation Department. He is much happier chasing after golf balls than court papers. Dawne and John have two teenagers at home, three adult children, and four grandchildren.

We are so thrilled with our new Aloha home. It is a dream come true for us. For many years, we hunted the Hawaiian Islands for just the right corner of paradise. KaMilo kept calling us back. The craftsmanship of the homes, the beautiful surroundings, the peaceful landscape proved to be our ideal location. We are so happy to share our taste of paradise with you.

This was our 7th trip to the Big Island. We had previously stayed at KaMilo in a 3 bedroom house, so somewhat knew what to expect. I can honestly say, the pictures (which are great) do not do this house justice. It was absolutely beautiful. We had a group of 10 people (age 5-65), my parents from California, my sister and her family from Arizona and my family from Texas. This house accommodated us perfectly. There was plenty of room for everyone. Our other sister and her family stayed in a condo nearby, but spent most meals at our house because of the size.
The house had everything we needed for our 11 days. The kitchen was very well equipped. We ate at home more times than any other trip. There were plenty of beach towels, boogie boards, chairs, coolers and umbrellas. We brought our own snorkel equipment, but I did some sets too.
This house was in a great location. We walked to the Shops at Mauna Lani, as well as the beach at the Fairmont. My parents rented a golf cart, which was a lot of fun and made getting around Mauna Lani very easy. We enjoyed the black sand beach and the Beach Club at Mauna Lani. Happy hour at Tommy Bahamas was another one of our favorites. Also, don’t miss the shows at the Shops at Mauna Lani on Monday & Thursday nights.

My husband and I joined our children and grandchildren for a week in this wonderful unit. It met and exceeded our expectations. It is well cared for, clean, and nicely organized. There was plenty of room for all of us -- both common space and quiet spots for personal time. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. We appreciated access to boogie boards and other beach items. The furnishings are lovely but also hold up to use by families with children. We loved the beach club and the wonderful pools/spa at the recreation center and took advantage of both. The free programming at the nearby Shops at Mauna Lani was entertaining and the kids enjoyed the lei-making and hula classes. The location is great for exploring the island's many treasures, as well as nearby beaches such as Hapuna. Wireless access and a printer made the check- in for our return flights easy. Thanks to Shig and Maya for their prompt responses to our questions and the box of welcoming goodies.
This was our third stay at this luxurious abode and it won't be our last!
The house has everything we needed including BBQ, boogie boards,beach chairs and snorkel gear. Location is ideal and within walking distance to shops and restaurants and close to the Fairmont and Mauna Lani resorts.
Loved that we had access to the private Mauna Lani Beach Club - really good snorkelling and a protected swim area even when the ocean was rough other places. Plus we watched the sunset while sipping on our Martini Lychees on the beach. Felt so pampered and relaxed.

Wow! I had heard this was a good unit to rent, but was blown away by both the lay out and the furnishings. Especially appreciated all of the adult sized beds as I frequently end up in a twin bed when with a group.
Unit was clean. Furnishings included scuba gear and beach chairs.
Be sure you go to Mauna Lani restaurants and to Lava Lava.
Night dive /snorkel with those giants of the sea is a must do.
We had a wonderful time when we went to the Big Island and stayed in this home. We had six adults and three children (5, 13 and 16) with us on this trip. The home was beautiful and had everything we could possibly ask for. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay for large groups as it is well accommodating. Shig took care of everything and did a great job! We would love to stay here again some time.
We had a fantastic trip on the Big Island, in large part because of this beautiful home, its surrounding area, and our very gracious host. We were a large group of 4 adults and 4 children aged 13, 11, 3 and 8 months and there was ample room for everyone. Loved sipping our kona coffee on the beautiful lanai every morning. And the private beach club was a dream. Shig, our host, was great - took care of every detail and was always available when we called him. We are definitely visiting this home again. We recommend that you do too!
